- Nestled along the Arroyo Seco next to the 110 Freeway near Highland Park sits a community of homes, but it's not what you'd expect.
The homes, which are mostly makeshift structures made out of different materials like tents and tarps, were created by homeless people.

I tapped into the base of the street light in front of my house. You can do it in the day time when the street lights are off. In the evenings, the city pays for my electricity. I encourage EVERYONE to do this.

One thing I can assure you, that first woman is not taking her elderly horse out to graze at night, frankly anywhere in the LA area, that would just be stupid. She is just complaining about the homeless living nearby.

This is the 3rd news report on this that ive seen today. They interviewed the guy with the nice looking "house" i blieve he has been there for 2 yrs. And he is hooked up to the lamp,post for electricity.

If they can build a home from nothing, they definately have skills that can be utilised by someone in the building trade!
Here is the Solution. Have the city go out and train the homeless to properly keep there encampment / homes neat and clean. As long as there Law Abiding Citizens, let them stay. In the mean time assign them a Caseworker to Address there needs and get them into more appropriate houseing. LA also has deep pockets and they can buy a abandoned property, like a old factory, amusement park, drive-in or even old trailer parks / campgrounds. Redevelop it into a huge city owed campground, with utilities and assign homeless sites and give them a policy packet anout the rules and give them that much as a hand up, not a hand out. These people living in this particular house, they don't bother anyone, stay to them selves and keeps it neat and clean. The city of LA needs to leave them alone and neighbors need to mind there own business. I would be proud to have these particular folks as my neighbors!

We talk about revolutions a lot, but these people are the real revolutionaries! Since at least 2018, California has spent nearly $24 billion on homelessness. Where did that money go & to whom & for what? "If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich." - President John F. Kennedy.
The 110 freeway was built for Model A cars - it’s incredibly narrow. It also has lots of curves that were intentionally built “for the view” as people driving Model As weren’t going anywhere fast and had time to enjoy those views that have turned to garbage. The 110 has a lot of accidents because of its outdated design and much faster cars than it was meant for. My guess is that it’s only a matter of time before that “waterfront home” is wiped out. Let’s hope it happens before Connie’s horses become a special on a waterfront BBQ restaurant.
