the sick part is they are doing this to help the hotels not necessarily the homeless.

I'm in the uk. My previous next door neighbour was a guy who had been homeless for a prolonged period of time. He was lucky and got into a temp programme who then helped him get a flat. He had been alcohol dependant and struggled with loneliness in previous attempts at housing. He ended up homeless because of marital brakedown. He was the kindest and most considerate neighbour going out of his way every night to lock the gate and let me know after a burglar tried to break into my flat. And when I was trapped inside due to poverty and disability he would still come and talk to me. People have a perception but sometimes helping someone back onto their feet allows them to support others. Sadly a couple of his friends who had known when homeless passed, they didn't get the chance and support he got. We all need a hand sometimes and it can change lives.

Can you imagine how these ppl are going to feel after getting a nice cushy hotel room for a few weeks/months and then being kicked to the curb again? Thats some truly cruel sh!t right there.

I was homeless in LA For 2 years addicted to coke. Never had one person help me other than a occasional old meal or 5 bucks. You have to make the choice to leave that lifestyle or die in it. I’ve been off the streets for a decade now and it takes a crap load of work. But you have to make the choice. These people are just getting a space to do there drugs in private. They need to be drug testing them and making the priority health issued people that want to actually wanna make the change, and not housing people that keep throwing away they’re lives!

The richest country in the world should not have this huge number of homeless folks.

Give yourself an A? If you’ve only housed 25% of homeless people, it sounds like you got a 25% on your test, which is a super F-.

I lived in California from 1996 to 2005. The last place I rented, a little 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom duplex for $1100 a month, now cost $3000 a month! That is literally insane! I moved back to Texas. That same size duplex here would rent for $600 a month

Something is so wrong here on so many levels, the homeless, disease, drugs and mental health...as a Nation we need to wake up, realize we are broken and start fixing ourselves.
