I love it when generally forgetable or bad pokemon can actually be useful or find niches in certain games. I've found this is especially true in monotype hardcore nuzlockes. Limiting yourself to one type really carves out niches for pokemon within that type. For example in my grass type only run of Heart Gold which is probably the hardest one i've ever completed Jumpluff nearly single handedly saved my winning E4 run. Sleep powder, Leech seed, Bounce (which it gets right before the E4 level cap) and u-turn combined with its high speed could cheese some nearly impossible matchups like Lance's charizard and dragonites and Karen's houndoom. Another example was in a Mono normal nuzlocke of Soul Silver where although nearly entirely outclassed by Fearow, Pidgeot was actually super useful in certain fights due to its access to feather dance which in combination with the roost TM would neuter basically any physical threats.
I love how much you just know about everything in Pokemon it seems. Like even the most random stuff like garaffrigs really good for the E4 in this game for example it's awesome and very interesting!
As someone contemplating a Trashlocke of HGSS, this is really useful info to have. I'm doing a Trashlocke of Gold version next, and in that game I put Girafarig at a low B to high C(the latter of which is where I landed). In a Trashlocke, Girafarig is defs one of the best pokes you can have.

3:40 I know how much of a pain that was, Koga's muk for me is like Cynthia's Garchomp to me (but unlike most people it wasn't a problem, like muk was to them), to give you an idea it took *30 minutes* to beat that stupid thing,I am not kidding, it nearly got my entire team, I only beat it because of aerial ace on my Pidgeot, (why didn't I use it sooner, idk I was dumb I guess) and that later on would make me lose the entire elite 4 against the last pokemon because i didn't have more healing items because of you guessed it, that stupid muk sweeping my team. Because of that and it's terrible and ugly design are the reasons why muk is my most hated Pokémon by far.
Im doing a HCN in Leaf Green right now and almost the same thing happened to me at Gym Koga. Since the level cap for Koga is the same as Sabrina and i needed to beat rival, Giovanni, and Sabrina's whole gym too after him my team was a little lower level than otherwise. It survived my Jynx's psychic, nearly one shot it then between acid armour, minimize, crit poisons and Koga's healing basically crippled my entire team. Rest Snorlax eventually managed to luckily hit enough moves and continue to sweep the others for no losses but it was so close to a complete wipe. (And it could have been avoided if I put berries on my team, but i forgot that)
Love to see one of my go too in game Psychic type Pokémon be good in a Nuzlock. Never played a nuzlock before but I usually use girafarig in GSC, RSE, HGSS, DPPt, and ORAS. I used one recently in my shining pearl run.

Love this sorta content, nice way to expand but keeping the style similar. I used a tropius for the emerald elite 4 in a nuzlocke earlier this year and it was fantastic. Helped with the grass types of sidney, phoebe having leech seed on sableye and one of the dusclops to avoid the stall. Good on glacia to bait ice moves rather than water to switch in mons. Drake was pretty useless, but I found it most helpful in the champion fight. You're usually bringing an electric type in the emerald e4 for wallace, however the two mons this mon cant deal are ludicolo and whiscash. Tropius hard counters both. Also learns solar beam throughout the e4, allowing you to change movesets and also teach sunny day for the later fights that also help with glacia and wallace especially. Love seeing bad mons do well, shoutouts to girafarig
Yo I actually did a mono normal challenge and Girafarig was part of my team. She absolutely carried the elite four. Glad to see that its in-game advantages in HGSS isn't a fluke.
And for the stuff before you get Girafarig, Geodude can solo most of it. And if you don't get Geodude before the first gym you can get it for sure by using Rock Smash outside of the ruins of Alph. From there all you need to do is...make sure you don't fall asleep while getting levels. Yes, even with the Ace limit. With Jhoto's level curve and rematch system you're likely to be stuck beating up wild mons for a full day if you don't make a schedule.
Oh wow, girafarig is one of my favorite mons of all time but i rarely use it in my playthroughs because of how mediocre it's stats are. I'll have to give a try again specially in HGSS.
The problem with girafarig is only in competitive On a playthrough it is even better than the regional gen 2 starters Cause it has a great movepool and it hits hard in off + it can learn nasty plot

Big fan of more potential single player videos like these
Yo I actually did a mono normal challenge and Girafarig was part of my team. She absolutely carried the elite four. Glad to see that its in-game advantages in HGSS isn't a fluke.
I would absolutely love more videos about Nuzlocke/In-Game Tiers.
Girafarig is also fantastic in the Lv1 dungeons in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I love Girafarig and I'm happy it's able to shine in its niches
This a different type of competitive Pokémon. Nice video
Lucian from Sinnoh's Elite Four knew what he was doing putting a Girafirig onto his team.
Glad to see one of my fave 'mons getting some love xD
I’d absolutely love more content like this
Freezai nuzlocke! Freezai Nuzlocke!
Girafarig is my favourite pokemon love to see it being a great pokemon ingame
Number 203. Girafarig. The last thing you want in your HG/SS party is a Girafarig, but as it turns out, that might be what you need.
Oh my god PLEASE make more of these i want to see these type of videos on drayano hacks (like renegade platinum or blaze black)
Your videos are unique and i like the informative information
More of a recent sub, your content is quality and always engaging to watch
Okay I love these types of video!
Oooooooo!! THIS is interesting. 😮
-More of this would be cool!-
Great video, its good to have some diversity to not feel stuck in a box
Oh wow, girafarig is one of my favorite mons of all time but i rarely use it in my playthroughs because of how mediocre it's stats are.
I'll have to give a try again specially in HGSS.
The problem with girafarig is only in competitive
On a playthrough it is even better than the regional gen 2 starters
Cause it has a great movepool and it hits hard in off
+ it can learn nasty plot
