I haven't heard this one in a long time. It was a huge #1 hit when I was a kid. A huge movie too -- An Officer and a Gentleman. Richard Gere looks so young in the film.
This took me back and reminds me that Lou Gosset Jr was one of the most underrated actors ever. The dude should have been in a whole lot more movies. I had a bit of a crush on him in high school, but honestly I don't know where he went. I just did a quick search and he's in his 80s now and just recovered from COVID. Last movie I remember him in was Iron Eagle.
The live Grammy performance is chilling and moves me to tears, which says a lot for a cynical rock/blues/jazz singer like me, who has been making music for money since 1966.
Music will never be the same, it brought people together, words made sense, there was no cursing or brainwashing lyrics to make you do bad. Today' music has a bad influence on our youths and that's where we're at it's all by design to promote hate rather then love.
This is a beautiful song India. Thanks for reacting. I have always loved to see and hear Joe Cocker, and singing with Jennifer Warnes makes the sound even better. One song i wish you would react to is, "Thorn Upon The Rose" by Mary Black.. On You tube, the one where she sings live wearing a green jacket. A beautiful voice and lady singing a beautiful song. Listen to the meaningful words. Also, The Dimming of the Day, and Bright Blue Rose, show her beautiful voice well. And many other songs she sings so well too.
Yeah, I was trying to think of the name of this movie. Then, I see the title in the song. I've not seen this movie in a very long time. Thanks for your reaction. Love yall all.
You're definitely hearing some heart felt songs that move you like no others. try Joe Cocker "you are so beautiful" so simple in its lyrics yet it will move you more to feel his love for singing and make you feel emotions deep in your heart ....Keep opening your mind India i see your emotions
Love this movie. The blonde at the end - her story in the movie is sad. You'll really enjoy it - Louis gossett Jr really rides him hard. You might have to order the movie online. Haven't seen it for sale in years. I'll have to reorder it myself - along with Urban cowboy
African American Actor Louis Gossett who played he drill Sargent won an Oscar for best supporting actor that year for the movie this song went with. An Officer and a Gentleman..
Hey India, you should do a queen at live aid reaction,....... I love the vids, all the best for the future, John from england👍. You brother from another mother.... Lol
I love his voice. Gladys and the Pips! There is a young 20yr old that sing old school and won the 1st season of The Four . Evvie McKinney sang I'll Never Love A Man (Aretha) Proud Mary (Tina Turner) At Last (Etta James) but not getting play time because of her music choice. Check her out. Please.

I hate that song. 99% of the song is just repeating that line over and over again.
