Wow, Joe Cocker was a true artist. I saw him at O2 in Prague in 2013, just a year before he died and it was one the of best concerts I've ever been to. Almost 70 at the time, he delivered more than 2 hours of great music pretty much straight. Sir, you will never be forgotten.

I learned about this song watching the TV show the wonder years when I got older I looked it up and found out the Beatles song it originally but Joe is more my style 💪🏾
@@merklingassoc I read in an article that during an interview he reavealed that 'You Are So Beautiful' was his favorite. Wow, awesome that you caught that in the passion with which he sang that beautiful song. I'd also read that his voice cracked at the end of that 1975 studio recording. He apologied for losing his voice, saying that he'd do it over. I don't remember who nor how many told him that his voice cracking was what put so much emotion into the song, providing the perfect ending. It couldn't have been scripted any better. They kept it in. Yes, I think you got that so right, that was soul, and it made the song his.
At 63 as I listen a cloud of sadness comes over me all the musicians of my youth are dying at an alarming rate there music is what got me through then the cloud passes they my be gone but there music goes on never let the music die

Wish I could press the like button again. Great performance from the late Joe, I remember him from Woodstock, but I want to hand it to those backup singers. Not only an exceptional performance but I’ve never seen back up singers enjoying themselves so much during a performance. Unreal.
Very good voices. I didn’t see the exceptional or enjoying themselves like no other backup singers the way you stated. I guess we See what we want to see! Great to see Joe and backup was good.
One of my funeral songs, am 65+ yrs old, when I die this is one of my request song for my marching music... Never tired of this Joe Cocker song... It always put tears in my eyes😊
I’m 69, I’ve got my children and grand children listening to Joe, they’re all blown away with his singing ability! What an under rated singer/legend! What a voice, and an absolute character!
That's so funny because I have a 31 year old daughter a 33 year old son and a 41 year old daughter. They all listen to all the music I grew up with, because that's all that was ever played in our homes and cars!! I often joke with them, hey does your generation have any good music? LOL Yes I know they do, however nowhere near the 60s and seventies, and Early 80's. The Very best years for music, this entire century!!!!!. They know all these songs by hearts. Should I ever meet a man who could sing to me like that, I wouldn't care what he looked like, how smart or wealthy, nor much of anything. I'd marry him tomorrow. Can you imagine being sung to like that every night? What an amazing turn on. Unfortunately, I learned this at about 50. I wish I had known this at 24. oh well when your beauty fades, and you find out what's really important in life, sometimes it's just a tad too late. Don't be a dumb you know what like me! Look always from inside out. Never from outside in. Words of wisdom from somebody who screwed up Big time!
I believe Joe was granted "carte blanche" permission to record any and all Beatles' tunes based on his performance of this song. An anthem for our time.
This is one of my favourite songs of Joe , and it truly signifies his position in Rock history and ballads. Great man RiP. The back up singers on this track are simply amazing.
@@scottwilderman1004 Same here. That, and the tall back-up singer. I'm seriously in love. I'M 77 years old, and she blows me away. I could flat play back in the day, but I never saw a day when I could warm that drummer up!

John Farnham's version of Help is the other. The lyrics of Help never really suited a pop song. Farnham slows it down into more of a ballad and couples that with simply insane vocal prowess. ruclips.net/video/dv54giOSRKs/видео.html This, and Joe's cover both eclipse the original.
In that era, back ground vocals HAD TO BE ABLE TO SING; READ MUSIC; PERFORM in the studio (one take); AND stage. I'll agree Joe was a ONE OF A KIND, IN A LIFE TIME.

Those crazy days, my world is pink. These crazy days, the world turns upside-down!

That's How I Got By In 1978, Joe Cocker. And A Lotta Help From All My Friends, "God" Bless You All... Most Playing Heavenly Music Now Also... Tears Rollin.10-9-21
When Joe took this Beatles song out of the box at Woodstock, it burned it's way into the hearts and minds of millions. Now many people don't even know that anyone other than Joe ever sang it! 👌🎶🎶🤟💖
So true
I can't disagree. He gave the song soul.... He did the same thing to You are so Beautiful.
I learned about this song watching the TV show the wonder years when I got older I looked it up and found out the Beatles song it originally but Joe is more my style 💪🏾
Joe cocker did this song right
The Beatles wrote it, joe cocker sang it.
Incredible live rendition. And, the backup singers totally rock with Joe!!!!!!!!
Backup singers would be great on theierown
Hell yeah
Bullshit ay

This song pretty much brings a tear to ones eye being filled with so much emotion.
Watching in 2022 just to remind myself what a great singer sounds like, not disappointed even my goosebumps got goosebumps, what a legend
Excellence lasts the test of time !
Miss. Joe. ♥
Great song, but he's a mediocre singer at best.

There are mornings when I wake up and am so grateful for all the help my friends in AA have given me. I play this and cry all the way through. It breaks me apart and then rebuilds me. Thank you Joe. May God bless you and hold you safe in his arms forever. Amen

The ultimate Joe Cocker song that will resonate with me forever!..RIP Joe
I don't know what to say . The performance says it all . RIP.
Wish I could press the like button again. Great performance from the late Joe, I remember him from Woodstock, but I want to hand it to those backup singers. Not only an exceptional performance but I’ve never seen back up singers enjoying themselves so much during a performance. Unreal.
Absolute magic performer/ance, think best back up singers I've heard! Rip Joe - superb
Very good voices. I didn’t see the exceptional or enjoying themselves like no other backup singers the way you stated. I guess we See what we want to see! Great to see Joe and backup was good.
thinkin the same man! Love ya joe, but ya look spent in this
Yeah that was the best concert ever I was only 16
Yes. Was it raing. Long walk. Thier...
Smoking a bowl and drinking a beer. Listening to the great one, thank you from the bottom of my heart. MR. COCKER
One of my funeral songs, am 65+ yrs old, when I die this is one of my request song for my marching music... Never tired of this Joe Cocker song... It always put tears in my eyes😊
Absolutely , Joe brings it where no one else can , from the very essence of his soul beyond the mountain tops . Love you Joe and Miss You !
Liked Joe since Woodstock ..miss him
One of the many great Woodstock performances, sealed his place in music history !
Das ist für mich das absolute Song. Ich war 24.Jahre und habe den Song gehört. Das ist jetzt 40. JAHRE her. Absolut für immer und ewig.!!
One of the greatest songs ever!
No one on earth could preform this tune the way Joe and his band plays it. This is a tribute to Joe by Joe of all of us.
Yes, this is one of My favourite songs, it's unlike any other song.....
I met Joe with Bobby Keys and Mick Jaguar good artists GOD Bless you
We are fortunate indeed to have seen and heard and loved these brilliant musicians.

Gracias a uds. Hermanos
I’m 69, I’ve got my children and grand children listening to Joe, they’re all blown away with his singing ability! What an under rated singer/legend! What a voice, and an absolute character!
He was never under rated.
One of the best covers of a Beatles song.
Joe Cocker has always had a perfectly matched backing vocal that echoes the essence of the song. Really great singers.
Maxine ROCKED ! ... She was the perfect accompaniment to Joe's voice and personality ...

Never stopped hearing this song since 1970..a masterpiece sung by a legend, Mr. Joe Cocker....RIP
Fan since I first saw him on Johnny Carson. He lived hard and sang with his soul. I will always love you, Joe.
I'm crying now and I will not ever forget about the way he sang and wrote such beautiful music.
BeatLes song but Joe sang it better, he did a couple of others as well..
Oh good, glad I’m not the only one crying while watching/listening to this great artist!!!!
The Beatles wrote the song.
The Beatles wrote it but Joe owned it. One of the greatest performances ever.
I wish that I wished I had some friends
His music still and always will hold up !❤
If Joe Cocker doesn't send chills through you with this song, you kick puppies and have no soul. R.I.P. to one of the most iconic voices ever.
I love every song Joe Cocker ever sang! Beautiful voice!
I agree.......He sang from his soul........The angels above just got a new addition...
We miss him here in Colorado, trruly a dramatic act.
I agree with you he was one of the best in the music industry I loved everything he done.
sam beach great comment
This is one of my favourite songs of Joe , and it truly signifies his position in Rock history and ballads. Great man RiP. The back up singers on this track are simply amazing.
The backup singers are amazing indeed!🔥🔥❤️
And they are pretty easy on the eyes also, AKA HOT!!!

Of course as a drummer I’m a bit biased!

@@scottwilderman1004 Same here. That, and the tall back-up singer. I'm seriously in love. I'M 77 years old, and she blows me away. I could flat play back in the day, but I never saw a day when I could warm that drummer up!
Come si fa a non ascoltare uno dei più grandi capolavori dell' opera rock? Cosa ascoltiamo oggi 2024?

What a beautiful soul
He was a good man
Another Legend from Woodstock
There will never be another. I am forever grateful to have witnessed Joe perform live when he opened for Tina Turner. That was one hell of a night between the two.
In 69, This was my anthem. Now at 75, this version still speaks for my heart!
l agree with you, indeed Joe Cocker is a great and
talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,
he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and
always heals the Soul…
And oh yeah, those backup singers killed it. You could see the joy on their faces. Two beautiful women who could sing their asses off.
they were fantastic

A special mention for the drummer...great job. The best Beatles cover by far......Joe is very much missed.

Thank you. 😀
Absolutely who was the drummer? Any aswers?
The only artist to perform a Beatles’ song better than them. He sings songs you wish were 20 minutes longer!
Well just maybe..I’m wishing I would have been old enough to appreciate this man back in the day....😉
John Farnham's version of Help is the other. The lyrics of Help never really suited a pop song. Farnham slows it down into more of a ballad and couples that with simply insane vocal prowess. ruclips.net/video/dv54giOSRKs/видео.html This, and Joe's cover both eclipse the original.
Our American king Elvis did.
i am old guy BeatLes guy but yeah this guy old Joe did this better than the lads....damn lovely.
Clark
Totally agree with you.
joe sings in his own class. i just want to add that background singers and the musicians sing and play also absolutely brilliant
In that era, back ground vocals HAD TO BE ABLE TO SING; READ MUSIC; PERFORM in the studio (one take); AND stage. I'll agree Joe was a ONE OF A KIND, IN A LIFE TIME.
Yes thank indeed thank you FLINT MI for acknowledging the back up singers and ALL INVOULD!!
You nailed it. The background singers, organ, and guitars make this a classic for the ages with Joe's dynamic singing.
The choir and their voices are amazing!
