Its funny those big title media companies like motortrend and carperfection always mess up audio and editing when overdone it, doug demuro nailed it with starter level finalcut.
bilibiliism doug has had his fair share of mic issues! So many crackly videos.(mostly down to crap mics) seems like he has cracked it now though. I'm sure carfection is using the gopro as backup audio as the mic attached to him didn't record.
I would love that AMG makes a Black Series version of this wagon... It would be awesome!

Exterior, the Audi looks better. Interior is showing its age but let's be honest, Audi designed that interior in 2009 and it went into production in 2011. Of course it looks dated. The C8 platform is being released this year so I'd expect the new (C8) RS6 and RS7s to follow late next year.
PKmode still one if best interiors ever put in a car though. When you are in one you realise it very quickly

Compared to most things on the road the rs6 would still an awesome place to be. I still get positive comments about the interior of my c6 A6 , and that's 12 year old now. The merc, with those huge screens, will date badly I'm afraid.

If I could only have one car and had the money. E63s Estate hands down. Brutal power, intoxicating v8 soundtrack, next level interior, practical space, RWD drift mode, and it even looks gorgeous. A solid home run and dare I say the best road car ever made.

Love your work guys but why not incorporate subtitles? Would have masked the audio problem and still be good to understand what Henry was saying.

It’s absolutely shocking how NO reviewers of the RS6 mention the fact that that interior is now about 7 years old !!! Exterior design also a few years old but still manages to look incredibly good. That’s something that needs to be said when reviewing the RS6 ffs !!

@Holo40 it's a standard rs6 exhaust. a sports exhaust for the rs6 would be milltek or akrapovic. the AMG has also standard amg exhaust so I don't think you know the difference between your opinion and facts.

What? The RS6 has always had competition, ever since it first came out. There has always been an AMG E class estate, right back to the very first RS6. BMW had stopped and started with the M5 Touring also.

I like the front of the E63 more but overall, the RS6 looks smooth and clean. I'd go for the E63 just because you can drift it so easily.

Because this RS6 is from 2013 making it 4 years older than the E63. The age gap between them is smaller if you compare it to the 2019 RS6

Audi always styles their wagons so fucken nicely. The materials ans performance usually arent as good as merc or bmw but if ur getting wagon go for rs6.
Merc interiors look nice until you touch them and then they seem cheap and nasty
Wagon class is audi's territory. audi looks much more natural there, so that's why i would choose audi.

It need a different set of wheels to fill the arches and the rear end looks kinda of frumpy, like it's ass it being dragged around. The RS6 looks like a dad super villain-mobile. So much sleeker. I am a AMG fan but I'd go C63 S AMG coupe over this meat wagon.

The AMG is insane. But the Audi RS6 has always been a fav of mine, they pretty much established the super estate. So that's my pick. Can't wait to see what the next generation RS6 has to offer.
I like the front if the merc but from the side and rear its a "hearse" ohhh but the RS6 still looks way way better and carries so much more street cred' its to the RS and Audi's credit that this car being right at the end of its long model life can compete so well with the brand new E63s. This doesn't bode well for the Merc when the new RS6 hits the show room 2019.

The merc is the better all around vehicle but that audi certainly looks better and its better styled in terms of exterior 👌

I don't get Audis obsession with estates. The RS6 is an estate unlike its main competitors the M5 and the E63, the A3 "sportback" is a mini estate, the Q7 is just like a jacked up estate. And if you ask most people they would tell you that estates are lame and used by market sellers to sell their fruit and vegetables or for construction workers.
Can't help but think that these super estates are too big (wide) for a lot of UK roads. The new RS4 and C63S seem like much better alternatives - still offering staggering performance, but in a more useable shape (width!)
Guys, congrats for the efforts. Like the concept of your videos, but the sound while speaking inside the cars is terrible. Otherwise, great work!
Audio mixing seems messed up... Can barely the presenter over the car sound. Makes viewing a bit unpleasant
Well the Audi is missing its usual 4.2l V8 turbo so that'll cost the RS6 some pace, the presenter says get the carbon ceramic brakes but your much better off with the Audisport gearbox, prop shaft, differential, drive shafts and hubs, to increase efficency by 35% with the same horsepower, until then you don't need carbon brakes. Trust me.

I couldn't make out much of what Henry was saying a lot of the time because of muzak and engine noises. Can Carfection improve driver miking when storming around circuits and narrating at the same time?

sadly it would seem in preparation for the new C8 platform, the RS6 Performance in the UK at least is no longer available new unless an order is already in the dealer network or it is factory allocated although the 560PS standard RS6 is. Difficult to compare a 5 year old car to a 1year old interior wise but then that's how the manufacturers stagger their productions cycles, C63 makes a far better noise and its AWD is more advanced for sure, interior is subjective. Exterior still the C7
As for the C8 RS6, plenty of rumours abound however base will be a TTV8 with around 600bhp, the 'Performance' variant will likely be the hybrid lifted from the Panamera
Lol, 3 days ago I searched audi rs6 vs e63s on youtube, didnt really find anything usefull. Now i see that this vid was uploaded 2 days ago :)
Luckily, the GTI is a great lightweight, torquey alternative take on the “practical sports wagon” for us mere mortals. If I didn’t have need for a truck as my practical vehicle, I’d definitely have one in the garage alongside something sleek, RWD and highly impractical :)

You say that the AMG is faster on the track (which is true) and then you say that its not the point of this video. Why make this video then in the first place? These are the sportiest models of these cars, they have to be tested on the track.
My God its taken Merc and AMG 2 generations to get to a car that is the equal of the RS6, that is testament to how good this last of the line thunder wagon was and is. The RS6 still looks better outside and although the Merc has installed its latest interiors in their car and by definition they will be more modern, its hardly an interior to rave about, as as I'd wager as many people who like the Two tablets jammed upright in the tarts boudoir, there will be equally as many who hate it. The iconic RS6 is the king of uber wagons, the E63s is the pretender here and holds the crown just until the new RS hits the tarmac.

Both are brilliant, I really like the sleeper car looks of the Merc. Pull off the badges (and I absolutely would) and it's just a ghost.
The RS6 (both this gen and the one we have out now) are shouty things. No subtlety at all. Which is fine- Audi has the right to peacock occasionally, too- but not really my thing.
Besides. Drift mode is kind of a killer USP, and I would want to support Merc in coming up with something so wonderful.

I take it mpg figures were from the manufacturers. 30 ish mpg for both is surely slightly optimistic at best. Obviously if I had the money to buy either I wouldn't care. But ..
I don't think its fair to compare those interiors more so the screens when you don't have the digital cockpit on the Audi , you literally called it dated

E63s Estate in Emerald green with Porcelain Grey leather sports seats and diamond cut alloys with chrome alloy window surrounds and roof rail please. Everyone knows the estate makes at least 640bhp.
