How's THIS for an epic all-German line-up?!
We've got our hands on the almighty BMW M5 CS, and it's facing off against a Mercedes-AMG E63 S, a Porsche Panamera Turbo S, and an Audi RS6!
Trust us, the stats on all of these cars are absolutely insane! Starting with the Bimmer, it's packing a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet that puts down 635hp and 750Nm of torque. It's by far the lightest car here, weighing in at 1,825kg, but it's also one of the most expensive - it'll set you back £144,000!
Mat's in the AMG, which has a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 612hp & 850Nm. Sure, the torque may be more than the BMW, but it's a fair bit heavier, tipping the scales at 2,010kg!
When it comes to weight, though, the Porsche is the heaviest car here. Along with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, it's also got a set of batteries to power an electric motor, meaning it weighs in at around 2,400kg! It's the most powerful car here, though, putting down 700hp & 850Nm.
And then finally we have the Audi. Once again you'll find a 4-litre twin-turbo under the bonnet, that can put down 600hp & 800Nm.

It's really about time that Audi gave the RS6 more power. The C7/C7.5 stood up for the competition so much better. But the C8.5 A6/S6/RS6 is coming very soon, and that with a RS6 Performance also. Thanks for the awesome video as usual!

@@promo2099 not a patch on Bentley mate. It’s not all about speed, and the luxury is nowhere near. Bmw interiors are laughably bad, hard plastics and bad design. Bentley and similar brands on the other hand are hand built with amazing interiors. Absolutely no competition at all.

As soon as BMW started using AWD it automatically took the lead among performance sedans regarding drag racing.And in regard to all other categories it was already on top.

They had the lead among performance sedans almost always since they started this "class" of cars with the M535i back in the 80's.. A drag race really doesn't say a lot about a cars performance. Since they're using AWD, they just dominate the drag races as well.
With more powers though
The guy was able to listen in and talk to you on your radios because they are cheap PMR radios. He was probably using a directional antenna and lots more power.
Have a look at getting dpmr radios (digital pmr). The range will be slightly better, and you can encrypt them. They use digital encoding, similar to what you use with the F1 car.

Sometimes I tried to listen to lorry drivers and taxi when I was a little kid with a CB 😅 but it was really scary when they noticed I was there I never did it again 🤣 But this dude was weird!

The CS is simply a monstrous of a driving machine. It's the pinnacle of BMW M engineering.

I'd take the M5 CS for my performance sedan/daily driving needs, and a Cayman GT4 or a 911 GT3 (or their RS versions) as a fun car. The Panamera, especially the hybrid version, is just too heavy and not too pleasing to my eyes, while I think BMW really nailed the M5 looks-wise. Definitely one of, if not the, best looking BMW in their current line-up, retaining a lot of the brands' spirit, unlike some of their recent abominations like the new 2 series.

But we're taking about performance on a drag strip or a race track. And the RS6 got dropped like a hot potato.
Now the RS6 will pull like a train in 1.5 feet of snow. The M5 xDrive wouldn't be completely stuck, but it'll struggle. Note, I said 1.5 FEET of snow, not the average 3-4 inches, where the gap would be almost insignificant.
So the Quattro fans can enjoy their 15 minutes of fame when there's a snow race video. We'll graciously accept defeat there. Until then, keep working on improving the RS6, coz it's getting mauled by the M5.

Coz the Quattro has an advantage over all other AWD systems in wet/ snowy conditions. When it's dry, it loses its edge.

That particular GT3 must’ve been odd. Perhaps it was the weather combined with the tyres, cause everyone else who’s knows what they’re talking about seems to think the GT3 touring is one if, it not the best cars you could ever own. Interesting tho
@@napalmhotdog4365 it wouldn't really be a bad thing if the gt3 is actually slower than the m5 cs in straight line. Though that the gt3 is significantly lighter, it also got RWD, much less power and torque, and track oriented aero which aren't beneficial for drag racing. Afterall, the gt3 is all about laptime and diving experience and never about straight line.

Thing is, today's A classes, 1 series and A3s are capable of everything a 90s Full Size sedan was capable of, in terms of sports and luxury. So buying an todays S3 or 235i Gran Coupe for example gives you everything and they are half of the price.

@@Robin-sf3gk That's true and a cool perspective to take. Today's cheaper/lower end cars, are pretty damn capable. I mean, a Civic Type R will shit on pretty much any supercar from a couple decades ago around a track, while offering much more comfort, 5 times the fuel economy, and being incalculably more reliable.

M5 is a beast although it’s 4 door family car but can you imagine
