- The events of The False Armistice are a key point in the Terran-Kilrathi War depicted in the Wing Commander series. Humanity is lulled into a false sense of security by an unexpected peace proposal from the Kilrathi Empire. The aftermath of these events set in motion the dire state of the war for the Terrans by the time of Wing Commander 3.

End Run and Fleet Action were such good books. Action Stations was interesting too and gave Forstchen a chance to round out the arc of Tolwyn from a brilliant young soldier to a jaded aging madman. He's a really deep and interesting character but you wouldn't know it if you'd only played the games.
Now that's certainly interesting. I haven't found Action Stations out in the wild, but I never assumed it talked about Tolwyn's early career. I really should keep a closer eye out for it.

I wish we had more lore explanation videos and war overview videos of Wing Commander like this. Such a good universe I feel got shot in the foot with a very weak movie in 99.
Same here in all honesty. It's such a rich universe that's ripe for this kind of content, which makes it baffling that almost no one really has tried to cover it at all.
The wiki I need some work, showing the different alien species ships, vehicles, and characters. Maybe if the movie had been better, it would be more popular. Of course they should’ve try to make that movie in the 70s or 80s
Can't help but feel "Tolwyn was right" became a large 'driving force' in his later creation of The Black Lance, and attempted collapse-coup of the Terran Confederation. His own past actions (and the opposition received) would "Steel" his will, even when it became misguided.
It's more than alluded to, that The Black Lance's creation was prompted by intellegence reports of alien threats superior to the Kilrathi. Tolwyn as 'a scholar/student of Kilrathi Lore, Culture, and Legend', could not deny that Confed *facilitated* Kilrathi Prophecy.
IMO: Tolwyn knew Kn'thrak was coming, and it drove him mad.
As far as I know, deep space probes had already found the Nephilim and reports were in line with what The Killrathi knew.
If Chris Roberts was smart he would've built upon the lore that was created from his games and books rather than completely starting from scratch with Star Citizen, there is almost 20 years of lore and content to work with during the Terran-Kilrathi war even before the first game takes place in 2654
If Chris Roberts can buy the Wing Commander IP from EA, he would have.
Chris Roberts literally pitched "Squadron 42" as a Wing Commander reboot to EA. There is amazing Kilrathi Art from the reboot out there.
Buuuut EA refused to give him the rights. Instead they offered them to the "Mechwarrior"-Scammers for their "Transverse"-Scamgame 😑

I love Wing Commander! I wish we would see some Next Gen PC and console installments in the series. I can't stress enough how much I have enjoyed this franchise!
this game series was my childhood. I was 11 when the first game came out on floppy and 3.5, and it wouldnt play on my XT. Had to wait for a pentium. But i constantly read the manual and dreamt of playing it. Part 2 was even better. Part 3 took the cake, imo. Mark Hamill, Ginger Lynn... wow... Also have read all the books. Mostly during school classes. lol The guidebook to WC1&2 is also a great read. Along with each mission laid out, there is quite a bit of commentary by the main character. He explains that he lived on a farm and missed his dog.

So wo have birdies, kitties, but no doggos? See that's the problem! Had the humans reached out to the doggos, they'd gladly chase the kitties up trees for a few tennis balls:).

I wonder how much unemployment there would really be what with hundreds of millions if not billions of terrans dead and lots of colonies in need of being 'un annihilated' .
