Guys there is a full 7 minute video for CEMETERY GATES. Its literally been on RUclips for years now.
It changes the whole song into more progressive metal. The start of this hits you in the face after the soft intro. Indeed a crime.

My man was feeling that one! Once that solo hits this song reaches another level, and it was already at an 8. The tail end takes it to 11 though.

When I was in L.A. at the Rainbow (famous rock club) with my Uncle, I was heading to the bathroom when I literally ran into the drummer, Vinnie Paul. I couldn't believe it, I said "VINNIE?" "Yeah man..." I just thanked him for the music. It was shortly after Dimebag was murdered and I didn't have the heart to ask for an autograph. It didn't feel appropriate.

I saw Pantera With White Zombie & Eyehategod when they came to Houston. I believe it was 1997. Best concert ever!
Probably the same tour I saw them on in 1996, I saw them twice in 1992 also. Twice in a little club where the mosh pits were brutal and the 96' concert was at a outside venue....definitely good times!

I loved Vulgar Display of Power and my favorite song is Fucking Hostile! And I really loved the album Cowboys From Hell. This song is about someone Phil Anselmo lost. It shows a little bit more depth of his voice.
Listen to these 2 songs, Avoid the Light and Immortally Insane. 2 previously unreleased tracks, perhaps 2 of their best, towards then end of the breakup. Both songs were on a separate movie soundtracks.

Basically you're trying to say you can relate to rock music, even though you're naive to the sound and music, can relate to the lyrics and whatnot. Which is what makes ALL music beautiful. I literally listen to everything, even if it's foreign and I can't understand it. Music alone does it's job, it gives you feelings.

People who don't listen to metal think it's "angry" music. It's not.... it's very emotional. They sing about death, sadness, love, etc. Most metal has beautiful lyrics if you give it a real listen. If you get past the hard drums, screaming and raw guitar 😊

This song is their masterpiece.
I grew up in Houston and I got my first apartment in the late 80s. About half a mile down the street from my house was this little bar/rock-venue (I want to say it had a really common name like Backstage, or something like that). I never went into it but I used to ride the bus past it everyday and, every month or so, they would have "This Friday: Pantera" on their marquee (Pantera was from Dallas). I remember because i always wondered what the word "Pantera" meant. It was like a 250-person maximum capacity small venue before the band was famous.

Just a quick note about Dimebag and his guitar. Dont know if you know about guitars but there are many kinds and styles. Including the hardware. There are "fixed bridge" guitars where the strings are anchored to the body and dont move. Then there are "tremolo" and "whammy bar" guitars where the strings move using a bar on the bridge. Dime was famous for his divebombs and squeals with a tremolo bridge style guitar. The extreme skill to hold a squealing pitch harmonic for so long is completely amazing. RIP DIME and VINNIE
