Much less that this video would get so many views. It's still overwhelming, to be honest. But, I'm getting better at editing, better at speaking louder. Thank you for this recipe. Looks just like my grandma’s bread pudding. Delicious cold as well. Grandma came through 2 world wars in the UK when there was rationing, and had 8 children so no food went to waste. She also made wonderful rice pudding. I’m 77 and had no problem hearing you.
Wow! That's amazing to hear. I knew that bread pudding originated in Europe a very long time ago. But, it's awesome to hear from someone whose Grandmother was making this 100, maybe even 150 years ago. I absolutely love knowing how far back some recipes go. Especially to know that a lot of us like it made just as it was back then. Thank you so much for telling me that history, letting me know you can hear me, and for being here, Ms. Patricia! :)

Looks yummy I have coffee with the guys (my hubby's old coffee group before he passed) at a McDonalds once a week. Think they would enjoy this recipe our oldest is 92 the youngest is in his seventies. I bet they had it as kids it might bring back some memories.
You had me at sweetened condensed milk. 😅 I love bread pudding, and this looks fantastic. Thank you for typing out the recipe as well. You’ve put a lot of work into this video, and a lot of us appreciate it.
I love this video. The way you mixed everything really good and didn't hurry. Sprinkled all the Rasins around evenly. I'm going to make this just like you did real soon!!! Thankyou.
I don’t ever use a recipe to make Bread Pudding and I always put my bread in with the egg milk and butter mixture and I just guess on the amount of cinnamon and it’s always delicious
Why are you here watching how to make bread pudding then? Just curious, not being mean. I used to do the same as you. I'd usually make it when I had some raisin bread left that got stale before I ate it. These days I don't eat raisin bread and I'm not married anymore so I haven't made it for a while and wanted a real recipe to go by. I have some marked down French bread from Walmart marked down bakery shelf. I usually buy that and make French toast but had a craving for bread pudding.
Pleasure to watch you make this using sliced bread. I’m going to have to make this because it looks so yummy. Thank you for sharing! You’ve a new subscriber. 🌹
My grandmother made bread pudding that was more like a pancake. She used very few ingredients. I remember sitting in front of the oven waiting for it to bake. Those days are greatly appreciated 😊
Your comment reminds me of when my grandmother used to make squash pies. The were SO good, and sweet, and warm. With a big dollop of cool whip or ice cream on top. And, I don't even like squash. I'd give anything to have those days back with my grandmother, because I was 13 when she passed away.

It's half this size, and I used milk instead of sweetened condensed milk, in case you'd like a version a little less sweet. If you do prefer the new version, you only need to double the ingredients if you'd like a 9x13 sized instead of the half sized bread pudding I made. You're so welcome. I wish we still had bread stores around here. There used to be several. I loved getting the little cakes from there, too. Now it's one whole aisle of bread at the grocery stores. And though I never see ole loaf bread marked down, I often find Italian or garlic loaf bread or day old brioche buns for 50 cents. I need a deep freezer, because I'd load it down with bread and meat when I find it on sale.
Thanks for sharing your recipe with us. You sound as if you have flu. Keep warm, it's going to be a cold weekend. I am definitely going to try this recipe. 🙏❤️

You're so welcome! Thank you for watching. You can absolutely freeze this once baked. You'll want it to cool all the way off before freezing it. You could also mix it all up, leave the raisins out (if using raisins), then freeze it. And then when ready to bake it, put it in the fridge over night, and add the raisins in just prior to baking it. I really hope you like it! :)
Success! I chose your recipe because I enjoy using sweetened condensed milk. I made it last night, put it in the frig overnite (thanks for the tip!), and made it for lunch. It was a big hit. Thank you!

thank you for this recipe..It looks yummy ...it's simple and basic, exactly what I've been looking for...I see from your vid where I've been going wrong...I think I'm going to try it w/ sourdough bread, cranberry and mini white chocolate morsels ...
My grandmother used left over dinner biscuits. No raisins. Never asked for the exact ingredients. But it was delicious! I was surprised to find it being served in the neighborhood grocery store deli some years back. I thought it was a family thing. This is my first time watching someone else prepare it. Oh I miss my people!
I can barely hear this clip! But I am glad the recipe is written also. I made bread pudding once, but no one ate it. My mother in-law makes rice pudding often and it is so good. Thank you for sharing, I am going to make this tomorrow!❤❤
I am so sorry. I have not worked out why the sound is very loud on my end, fine for others, yet some can't hear it. In this video, at least, I had my phone case on, which I now know for sure, was a problem. But, going forward, it should be a lot better. And thank you for watching! :)
Thank you so much for sharing your bread pudding recipe it, definitely inspired me to make my own. I appreciate you mentioning to dry out the bread; first and last time I had bread pudding apparently the bread was not dried out because it was extremely mushy and hadn’t wanted any since. 🤗 Thank you 😊
You're most welcome! Thank you for watching. And, I also made a less sweet version if you'd prefer that one. The link is pinned to the top of the comments, and I also added it into the description box.
I am SO sick of hearing people mope and whine about recipes! Sure, it’s legitimate to ask for higher volume on this one,but who cares whether the bowl is glass?! If your criticism isn’t constructive, don’t make it!
@judithcordary2048 I think people are referring to the loud sound that you here while the lady is giving directions. I also thought the same way, the metal spoon scraping the plastic, it's annoying. But I didn't post anything. I thought the recipe was great anyway. That's just my two cents.
This was not the way I'd usually make it. Generally used milk. But, I like this way much better after making this. Tastes evenly sweet, throughout. And thank you for watching!
You're most welcome! I hope you'll enjoy it! But, if you find this version to be too sweet, I also posted a whole milk version. And, thank you for being here. :)

Thank you. Only time I've had this was as a child at a friend of my Moms. That was 50 years ago. I've had a similar one from a deli that had blueberries.
I've used several types of bread, biscuits and even hot dog / burger buns. But my favorite is to just use Italian bread that I slice one inch thick to make cinnamon toast and then cut them into one inch chunks to make the pudding. Your recipe just makes me want to make some. It looks so good and I can almost smell that wonderful aroma of homemade goodness.

Thank you so much for your lovely recipe. Very good and clear instructions. I want to make it with our traditional Friesian (Fryslân is a province of the Netherlands)sugar loaf. 🙏🏻
THANK YOU for sharing your recipe for bread pudding! I can’t wait to try it. ♥️
Thank you for this recipe-my grandmother use to make this for the family and we loved it.
You're so welcome! I did remake this video a year ago in case the noise is annoying for you (as so many have told me). lol The new video is pinned to the top of the comments. I also made a whole milk version, if you find this one to be too sweet for you. Thank you so much for being here! :)
Looks great. Will try for Thanksgiving 🦃. BTW, your sound is fine for me. Best wishes. God bless you.
Thank you, and an early Happy Thanksgiving to you!
You glorify YAH! My granddaughter and I really appreciate your praise in music! I'm an old lady but enjoying this very much. Praise YAH in Yahusha's name! Ahmein! 💪🦁🕯
Wow there is a lot of sweetness right there, thank you for the recipe, I will deffo try this. 👍❤️
If you find this one is too sweet for you, I also posted a whole milk version that's not as sweet. Thank you for being here! :)
@@SouthernGardening50 thank you for letting me know, I have the sweet tooth, hubby doesn’t, thanks again ❤️
Thank you for the Post because I used to make it but I've lost my recipe I'm so glad you have it I'll make it very soon
Absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to make this. Can you freeze this after it has been baked? Thank you so very much for sharing your recipe.
Thank you!
I'm so happy that you enjoyed it! So sorry about the noise, too. I did remake this video in case you ever want to make it again. The link is pinned to the top of the comments. I also made a whole milk version, if you ever want to try that one.
Thank you so much for being here!
So relaxing to watch you ❤
I could hear you just fine. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
Thank you for sharing my most favorite dessert it really does look delicious. I am going to make some. ❤
I love sweetened condensed milk! I’m trying this recipe! Thanks for sharing!
You're so welcome! But, if it does happen to be a bit too sweet for you, I also have a whole milk version video. And, thank you for being here!
Thanks for sharing the recipe, from Guyana 🇬🇾
Thank you for watching!
I've been wanting to make bread pudding... thanks so much for your time and knowledge.
Thank you for scraping the bowl I hate when all the good stuff is left behind and discarded.😊
But I'm sorry about the noise. I redid this video and it's pinned to the comments just in case the noise is annoying to you. And I always scrape the bowl. Got to have every drop of that good stuff!
Thank you .I have never had any or made any but always wanted to.Yours is easy and looks FANTASTIC.even sauce.WOW.this is great. Only me and my dogs. They would love it but don't need be any fatter .Neither do I but will definitely try it .Thanks.
If you find this one to be too sweet for you, I also have a whole milk version. Lol about the dogs. The way I keep from getting fat(ter), is everything I make, I eat a small bit then send it off with friends. Except for roast, and one cookie. I'm eating those two. ALL of it.😆
ive been looking for this reciepefor years .icant wait to try it TY for sharing
You're so welcome! I'm going to post another version of it next week, without the sweetened condensed milk for those who may not can have (or want) it to be as sweet.
This bread puff is the best I have ever made. Thank you for sharing this recipe with others. I didn’t use the water at all I also add a chopped up apple to mine! It was awesomely delicious!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :)
thank you for this recipe..It looks yummy ...it's simple and basic, exactly what I've been looking for...I see from your vid where I've been going wrong...I think I'm going to try it w/ sourdough bread, cranberry and mini white chocolate morsels ...
@@SouthernGardening50 ❤️❤️
I'm looking forward to EVERY bite!!! Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing your bread pudding recipe it, definitely inspired me to make my own.
I appreciate you mentioning to dry out the bread; first and last time I had bread pudding apparently the bread was not dried out because it was extremely mushy and hadn’t wanted any since. 🤗
Thank you 😊
You're most welcome! Thank you for watching. And, I also made a less sweet version if you'd prefer that one. The link is pinned to the top of the comments, and I also added it into the description box.
@@SouthernGardening50
Thanks for sharing this with us.❤
This is such a easy and delicious dessert I encourage everybody to make it
I'm going to post a different version of it this week, that won't be quite as sweet as this one, for anyone who doesn't like or want this much sugar.
I am SO sick of hearing people mope and whine about recipes! Sure, it’s legitimate to ask for higher volume on this one,but who cares whether the bowl is glass?! If your criticism isn’t constructive, don’t make it!
❤I completely agree
Right!
Agree
@judithcordary2048 I think people are referring to the loud sound that you here while the lady is giving directions. I also thought the same way, the metal spoon scraping the plastic, it's annoying. But I didn't post anything. I thought the recipe was great anyway. That's just my two cents.
Bless u , it’s like everyone just becomes a very. Wealthy 5 star chef, and have all the perfect tools . It’s ridiculous!
Looks so delicious!!!
I know, we don't really have "old" bread these days. Like you, I take whatever I have and dry it out a bit in the oven. Yum!
Very nice a ND a pleasure to hear you. TYVM
That bread held up really good. Thank you.
You're so welcome! And if this video is a bit too annoying, I made a new one. The link is pinned in the comments. Thank you for watching! :)
That looks yummy 🤤
This was not the way I'd usually make it. Generally used milk. But, I like this way much better after making this. Tastes evenly sweet, throughout. And thank you for watching!
I sure appreciate it very much ! I had no
Idea how to make bread pudding! Thank you
You're most welcome! I hope you'll enjoy it! But, if you find this version to be too sweet, I also posted a whole milk version. And, thank you for being here. :)
This must make the home smell fantastic. The pudding.
Thank you for this video. I’ve always enjoyed bred pudding, which one of my friends would make for me. I tried to make it myself but it was a disaster. Will attempt to make it with your instructions, wish me luck, happy to have found your video!
Looks good. I love raisins and peaches in mine❤❤❤
Yum, sometimes I add chopped apples or whole blueberries and always walnuts.
That's a beautiful bread pudding!
I have seen people put fruit cocktail in their and it was delicious
Interesting
Yummmm 😋
I am Definitely adding this to My recipes. My godmother taught me how to make Bread pudding when i was about 7yrs old when she came to visit and i never forgot how to make it. It’s Easy and the ingredients are everything we Always had. Our family likes it most around Lent, but it’s a Great dessert 🍮 to have anytime. I like mine most with a cup of coffee ☕️🍮☕️🍮☕️🤗
That’s one recipe that I Treasure ❤️👩🏼🍳🤗
Mmmm I haven’t had bread pudding since I was kid still at home.
My granddaughter and i say thank you. 🤗 We might try this with chocolate morsels.
I've never had bread pudding. This looks wonderful. I would add apricots. Love apricots!
Looks lovely
Thanks for sharing. I never thought to use condensed milk…good idea. My family loves it with pineapple and pecans instead of raisins.
Oh that sounds delicious! Ps. If you find this version too sweet, I also made a whole milk version.
Yummy! Reminds me of Moms, I actually thought I could smell it when you were baking it. Anticipation I guess😊
That looks dangerously delicious ❤ I'm gonna make this for sure!
I actually grew up eating this but we call this capirotada in Spanish & I've never attempted to make my own.. so, I'm so happy I found your video because it really inspired me to go ahead and try it myself at home. I have all of those ingredients too 😂❤
I've even got walnuts and chocolate chips.
Like you said, The sky's the limit. Lol 😅 thanks again for this recipe ✌️👍💕
Why, did you call it that. 😊just wondering.😊hope you don't mind me I your post.😊
Good stuff
@@toddschultz7477 💯👍💕

My granny used day old doughnuts and it was awesome!!
Definitely making this...i adore bread pudding....tfs
In the south we also add pecans to the bread pudding.
Thank you. Only time I've had this was as a child at a friend of my Moms. That was 50 years ago. I've had a similar one from a deli that had blueberries.
Thank you for the recipe My grandmother used to make it all the time when I was a child
I’m going to try this. Thanks
My granny use to make a yummy vanilla or lemon sauce to spoon over the top
Oh that lemon sauce sounds amazing!
