In this episode we start the rear suspension swap. We’re using the S550 Mustang independent rear suspension (2015 and newer mustang)
This will be a multi part series of videos showing our process. We hope you enjoy and be sure to ask us any questions you might have in the comments. Авто/Мото
Just subscribed! As an EV repair technician (working mostly on Tesla powered cars), and an owner of a 65' F250, I wholeheartedly approve of this build!
One of these days when I've got enough spare income floating around I'd like to do a build like this.
Z z z
Awesome build great video can't wait to see part 2
So glad to see an update on this build!
That truck is gonna be bad ass !!!!
Always look forward to a video for yall 👌
I really like this!!! I want this in my life!
My buddy did this swap in to a ranger awesome subscribed
I find you guys love them scrapping the frame while you drive. Personally, I’d never notch into the frame I’d like it higher
I would love the boxing plate kit for the s550 in the f100, when is that going to be available. I would even take a prototype to throw you guys some money to keep the development coming.
I been ready for 2 yrs... 😂😅
Time for a new video guys
Nice vid guy I'm learning alot from your Channel and other too, I have a 79 f150 and I wonder is the same suspension fit on it.
if it fit is going to be on my bucket 🪣 list thx
You guys and thefordera need your own show on motortrend +
This is awesome. I have a C10 and considered this exact swap - I wanted to have a genuine frunk - do you think you’ll fill the engine bay or keep it empty?
What about cross bracing from in front of the tire to behind of the tire? The Tesla motor has globs of torque. You would want to twist the frame after you spent all of the effort and time on it. I think a cross brace right tight over your third member would be helpful.
They have no idea. It will be fun to watch when they figure it out. 🍿😁
Just a heads up. The music volume during the time lapses is a little loud compared to the rest of the video. I’m constantly decreasing and increasing the volume because of it.
I watch RUclips on my TV and if my wife is asleep it’s a pain in the ass.
Nice video. What are the specs on the wheels and tires?
How hard would it be to use your up and coming boxing plate kit for the s550 on a 08 ranger?
When will the templates be available?
What motor controller are you using for the Tesla motor?
If you we're always planning on doing an irs why not just swap in a tesla factory unit? 🤔
Very cool project regardless. 😎
There are a number of reasons, but the main one are that the S550 IRS is by far the most popular new swap in f100 trucks, it works and fits very well. We already sell multiple products for the swap and have more coming. Also, it has the correct bolt pattern and perfect width that matches the CV front to allow for a full square wheel and tire combo.
That's pretty interesting how you work through the planning step by step. You make it look very easy. (For you...)
Pretty damn cool 🤙 🇺🇸
Putting the same S550 IRS in my 65 Falcon... Any suggestions or tips/guides/parts?
Hi Interesting project Any more update on fitting Tesla to the S550 rear Thanks
It's coming soon! Sorry for the delay, we've had a lot going on that was getting in the way of our schedule.
Where can i get a t-shirt like yours with the F100 logo on it? And what is the red car in the background ? An old Datsun?
I’m barely going to start a project do you guys have a template of the work needs to be done for sale
What model is your truck
Wouldn’t it have been stronger to drill a hole through the angle & pass the bolt through before welding on those mounts? Curious if this is permanent?
It's not permanent at all. The angle iron and bolt are just for mockup. We'll get part two out as soon as possible.
What are the dimentions of your wheels
Hey guys, love the project. I think I’m local to you guys. Had no idea when I subbed but would love to come check this project out in person. I’ll bring some cold beers if that helps! Let me know if we can work something out!
Cold beer definitely helps! lol You should come out to the next Chico Cars & Coffee and meet up.
@@PerformanceProductions sounds good I’ll be there!
We wont be able to make it to cars and coffee this weekend. We'll catch you at the next one!
@@PerformanceProductions no problem thanks for letting me know. My original beer offer still stands at any time!
I watched this video twice. Why did you choose the S550 IRS? Did you choose it so you could remove the Mustang center section and replace it with a TESLA large motor drive unit from a Model S?
We like the S550 IRS, we like the track width and wheel options available plus we make a few parts for it that we know work well. So we will be removing the s550 diff. and modify the IRS frame to fit the Tesla motor to it.
لابد من تدعيم الشاصي انقص منه قطع كثيره
Just one word 👍
الشيباني 🤚🏻
Hey guys, where are you on this build? You have not released a new video in a while. What gives?
We're getting back into it now. Life and work were getting in the way for a while there.

“Tesla motor” isn’t that just an energizer battery?
🤣
Awww hell the cutting has started so its on now, was expecting to see people commenting about how weak you are making the frame, how its going to warp and be out of square when thats what we start with on these trucks and make them way better than the were anyway lol. My frame was a 1/2” out of square, 1/4” sag between the cab/bed on pass side and had about a 12” section bowed out on driver side when i started so its much better than it was at the beginning. Keep the vids coming and maybe the jackasses commenting the nonsense above will fade away or become useful somehow
Thanks! I doubt the jackasses ever fade away but they are good for chuckle whenever they reveal themselves so we're okay with them. 🤣
Done ruining the truck
