    The custom '36 Ford and the '37 Chevy coupe are nice finds. In an old photo album I found photos of my grandfather with a '37 Chevy coupe that he bought new but was quite out of character for him so I don't think he owned it long. He was always class conscious and preferred big cars. Later he bought a '48 Packard four door new and his last car was a '94 Lincoln town car. Unfortunately my grandfather always looked down on manual labor and did not like to get his hands dirty. He avoided learning how to do any automotive repair work himself. Ironically his father (my great grandfather) was a mechanic in WW1. My Grandfather was born in 1911. He was proud of having never even rode on the back of a motorcycle and he never owned any kind of performance car. A stripped down Ford hot rod was the last thing he would have wanted to be seen in. I always marvel at all of the automotive fun my grandfather missed out on due to his class conscious attitudes.

    Maybe you can find out the history on the 36 ! Maybe it’s in some of the old custom car magazines or car shows and you can figure out who built it ! There’s a guy on RUclips called RIK Hoving he does computerized images of custom cars maybe he can make one of yours to see what it looks like finished with that cool custom Carson Top ?! COOL you got your dream cars !

    Did you ever find out who built the 1936 Ford? I’m a historian in Asheville and would love to know about it. A lot of Saxon’s were sold in Asheville by Eugene Sawyer at the Sawyer Motor Company in downtown Asheville

    Looks like the kind of auction i miss. Everything up in my area (Midwest) is online only. We're stuck bidding on what the auction company thinks is valuable. They scrap anything rusty & not bolted down. It's interesting to see that you also have one of those "bidders" that show up in dress clothes, constantly on the phone, but never bids. Trying to give the impression they're the guy with deep pockets working on behalf of some high roller

    Couple good fines there but if not saying or letting anybody see how much you pay for a car unless you’re in the high dollars or something I’d be one thing you’re trying to make money on it but clearly see how much the other car went for so there couldn’t be much more or less that’s not what you pay for the vehicle didn’t pay for that then they should’ve been at the auction and it got it themselves but since you were there, you were able to get it to him so that’s worth extra bucks take care of those mountains

    I know why we don't get to know how much you paid. Because you could put $20k in it after you buy it and half the people would get mad at you asking more for it . They definitely wouldn't want to pay you for your time. I personally think if you paid fair market then did what you've done you're looking at 2500 to 4000 on top of what you paid but most YTers don't want you to know.

    not showing the auction on the kustom is stupid if you dont want people to know what you paid then stay of the internet

    • @timferriss905
      @timferriss905 4 месяца назад +1

      The car or kustom is worth as much as someone’s prepared to pay for it so why would you say what you paid for it. If you resell than you can decide to take the next price that is offered.
