Mate this thing is lookin beasty! Can't wait to see it behind the rig hauling the gears up the beach/trails on ya missions... you should rock a trailer cam on haul for a sic perspective... chur!
Absolutely loving watching this trailer get better and better, if your worried about the trailer tilting back may have to do stands like on the truck trailers, unless the weight of the draws should keep it stable
Just a thought for you on that rear pintle receiver for door clearance. Grind the welds off that curved reinforcement plate and move it to the inside of the tube. It’s only function is to beef up the hole so you don’t rip out the hole in the tube. Moving it to the inside frees up the space on the outside of the tube so your door will swing but keeps the extra thickness around the hole for support. Love the build!
Awesome camp trailer, I’m building a camp trailer using some of your ideas. I really need some hinges for the swing out kitchen, where did you get your hinges from and are they still working well?
That’s a pretty good idea actually but I’m not sure with the top yet! I mignt be able to do away with it but it won’t do much because when the tops down when our tent is out it will be a lip there anyway!
The frame work you've built, is very similar to how I did mine. Not sure on hinge or latches yes as I'm still waiting for that bit while I'm commenting. My No5 doesn't really look like a 5 anymore.
@@RoamLyfe it depends how you register it. If you put on the paperwork it’s a camper then yes it will but if you leave the tent off when you take it to main roads and just put box trailer in the paper work then it won’t matter and they will be none the wiser
@@RoamLyfe I'm an ideas man! Looking forward to seeing how you close in the top of the trailer and add the tent. Might pay to think about some water storage points inside the trailer too!

@@petermiddo thank you and welcome! I know I know, it seems a shame, but the front cut off was very rusted on the floor and sides! I kinda feel like I’m giving it a new life in a way!
@@RoamLyfe I have a 2005 trackabout camper trailer with a swing away tailgate. All I have is a pin style latch on the trailer (body) with a tab welded onto the tailgate that when open just locks into place. A gas strut will only help with opening and closing. Plus you need the correct strut I looked into it and was a pain in the ass for my trailer.
I didn’t really want the upper bar there but if I want a dust proof trailer it has to be! I also looked at other setups on camp trailers and they all had the bar 😓
love the content dude! dont know why I'm seeing this a day late! but she's coming along nicely! also any chance of getting bigger shirts for us fat people??
I like modifying things and don’t have enough engineering skill to build my own! I like the height of the no5, the front was full of rust, I feel like I’m giving it another life, not the other way around 👍
Always come back for the builds if I'm being honest Ur wanna of the only 4wd channels I don't get bored of.
Wow thanks mate! I really appreciate that, I hope I can keep it up for you legends!
It's looking really good so far and coming along well.
If you're not already thinking about adding gas struts they would make opening and closing that door so much easier! Great build mate!
That’s a great idea mate thanks heaps!

Thanks legend! I’m gonna do Probly one trailer stand in the rear!!
Good ole Bunnings with the goods👌 can’t go wrong mate
Looks bloody mint mate, I’m not usually a fan of trailers for 4 wheel driving but this one is gonna be sick
Tbh I wasn’t either but I’m freaking loving this 🔥👌
Super keen for it to get out on the tracks mate
Can’t wait!! 🤘

That was a mint job. I wanna build one now!
Haha do it!!! Although I am sick of grinding and welding already haha
Can’t wait for this to be done it’s gonna be so mint 🤙
I can’t wait for it to be done! So keen to use it!
Frigging AWESOME trailer build. Really enjoying your work.
Heck yes nice work mate enjoying this build so far!
Loving the progress on the project
Thanks legend!
Great workmanship ! I converted one into a farm trailer using Land Rover tailgate hardware. It is a fraction of the quality of yours
That’s great mate, it’s awesome you use parts from another car to do it! 🤘
Coming along smick bro!! 👍🏽
Good old diesel dogs growing up….

Ooofft she’s looking good 🔥🔥
Thanks legend! 🔥
GOOD SHIT MAN you have to give it a go looking good
Bloody oath! Cheers legend!!
Mate you have in the making a wonderful trailer. So jealous.
I’m pumped with it so far! Can’t wait to see it all painted!
You could add a gas strut to hold the door still while you are cooking
That’s a great idea actually thanks mate!!
Looks bloody mint mate loving all the builds
Thanks Josh!
Could u do a walk around when you done please, can’t wait to see it down
Oh for sure! Keen as!
You should extend that tab a little bit and put a slight bend down in it so you dont have to lift the gate up on to it
Great idea! Thanks mate!!
You should do a lock for the rear door so it doesn't move just a simple plate some holes and a pin if you know what I mean but good job mate
Great video mate
Thanks legend!
Another great video.
Wish I had your skills
Thanks mate!!
That's actually dope asf. Great job! Looks Mint
Thanks legend!
💂awesome job 👍 my trailer already has a tail gate drop down type your idea's for your swingout gate sounds great
🍻 💂
I saw one of these advertised for sale on fb marketplace in Sydney recently.. relatively cheap too !
could you cut off the top bar and re weld the top bar to the door so that when it opens and closes you have full access into the back of the trailer

Should have made in drop down but anyhow still looks sweet mate.
Bit disappointed mate, thought you were going to bust our the Lamborghini hinges lol. It’s looking good 👍🏼
Mate they are on back order so I couldn’t get them in time 😅

I had no idea how I was going to do it at first 😂 how did I go with the latches?
@@RoamLyfe haha, kind of similar to mine also, but you've done very well.
Is that a 79 scoop I see leaning on the wall 👀 Trailer’s looking mint too 🔥
It is! Hahaha good eyes!
what welder and gas you using? Also the size and type of tubing ?
Unimig welder mig shield gas and size of tubing as in the wire? 0.8
Hey you may know this but just in case you don’t, in qld if you register it as a camper trailer the tent must fold out off the left side.
I had no idea! Will it be classed as one with a roof top? I suppose it will 😅🔥
@@RoamLyfe it depends how you register it. If you put on the paperwork it’s a camper then yes it will but if you leave the tent off when you take it to main roads and just put box trailer in the paper work then it won’t matter and they will be none the wiser
Absolutely lovin the trailer build yewww hey bud where abouts did you buy the angle finder 🤙🏼🍻
Thanks legend! I actually got it from eBay mate, was about $30!
Get a nylon roller to take the gates weight, it'll help take out the rattle and wont cause a rusty spot!
That’s a better idea than my washers haha

You should do a drop down table on the trailer door
That’s the plan, with a collapsible sink!
Great content mate, keep it up 👍
Thanks Rob!
Looks good. However you will need a latch or pin to lock the tailgate open otherwise it will swing shut all the time
Someone commented a gas strut before, not sure what would be best!?

Love the build, might need drop down legs at the back if she wants to tip back🤔
Oh 100 percent on the list!! Haha
Love how sick this is looking since it was stock as a rock trailer. I reckon it’ll flex harder than most 4wds out there 🤙🏻🤙🏻
It’s gonna be tough as when it’s finished!! Haha I mignt even add some shocks!
Doesn’t the upper bar defeat the purpose of an opening rear? Because you still have to lift shit over it??
