Great to hear your TOWING experience has been so good. We have only just started working with a trailer setup...very basic but still it changes the dynamics of the way we pull up and break down camps. Cheers for sharing your cooking experiences with us
Towing. Having recently coming across your channel, I think it’s so refreshing that your not tricking up your gear or trying to see the limits of what your gear will take. The videos I’ve seen have all been very down to earth. Keep them coming.
been waiting for this video, as I said to you when over Instagram, your first walkthrough video was the reason we ordered our frontier and it arrived a couple of days before I got to catch up with you at the Adelaide Show. well worth the wait. 100% agree with everything you said about the camper from our experience, ours is a similar Spec to yours just a few things different , "Towing" is a dream with it its effortless behind the wife's Toorak Tractor Now to just wait for the flooding to go and get the river back to normal levels as the camp sites we were going to are under water currently Congratulations on the continuing partnership with Cub thats great they are looking after you
I’m so glad you mentioned that it is Australian made and top quality right at the end Harry. A really good review. Many thanks. And towing is not an issue if you set it all up well. Enjoy the next twelve months with a trailer to be proud of.
"Towing" Hey Harry, love the channel mate. Thanks for the great content. I have been considering the Cub Frontier for a while and your reviews helped confirm my research. Just bought a 2020 model and can't wait to use it. Thanks very much and keep up the great work. Cheers Paul
Good review, same experience, and exactly the same set up being prado and frontier. One additional benefit that I've found with the Thermal blanket in winter is that it reduces condensation on the inside roof of the camper.
Hey Harry, long time watcher and this is my first ever RUclips comment, anywhere. You might have just changed my life. I just watched your vid and my not-interested-in-camping wife just turned to me and said “that looks like fun, why don’t we get one of those Cub things?”. Um what now? So I’m on the Cub website now, you’re a bloody legend mate. Oh, and it is just a bonus that the camper is great for towing
Your obviously happy towing such an awesome camper, a little tip, the breeze skirt is bloody brilliant. It stops the mozzie and midges from attacking you from underneath, little buggers love hiding out of the wind underneath. Loving the video, merry Christmas to you and your family.. oh and Fred.. cheers
Solid review. Picked up my Cub Scout 2 months ago & absolutely love it.! Mine is spec'd up the same as yours but without the rear storage boxes and as you said, everything is good quality and just works.. Oh and 'towing' is a breeze...
The ease of setup on that camper was impressive. When we got to camp, it felt like you had that thing unloaded, level, and fully setup in about 5 minutes (without using the awning). And that hot water! 🤌 So easy to clean up at camp.
We took delivery of our Cub Drifter in August and WE LOVE IT!! Towing it to a caravan park for an unpowered trial run in relative safety. Can't wait to get further off grid and be more self reliant. Fingers crossed for a portable fire pit from Santa to follow more of the Fire To Fork mantra!! Thanks Harry!!
WOW!!!! Cub are no doubt "tickled pink" with your review; your authentic and honest appraisal was definatly worth watching, and regarding all critical points; weight, tow feel, features, and that hot water in particular ticks my boxes! I now too believe the Frontier to be best value option out there! Thanks F 2 F.
We love our Cub. Got a Supermatic Drover and it is awesome, like your, but a rear fold hard floor. It is also really easy for TOWING. Love your work as always.....And we have a Prado.
Another great video Harry. We recently sold our caravan and have joined Vanlife so no more ‘towing’ for us. But we did purchase an AWD van to give us that little bit of extra ability to go off the beaten track a bit. Love the channel mate, keep it up.
A great in depth and honest video. I’m currently looking for a new camper so definitely one for the list, just towing a box trailer with camp gear atm but enjoying it. Would love a copy of your book need a good recipe to one up the father in law next camping trip as he is a chef. Keep up the great content.
It’s an interesting one right. Once you get something that suits your families needs unlikely you’d change. We’ve had a Jayco Expanda 18ft for 5 years now and with kids doing weekend sport ability to stop road side for lunch or shower them before driving home has been amazing! Sure I’d love something a bit lighter to tow some days but it is only 2.4T loaded up so towing it isn’t too bad but I don’t think I’d put it on the beach 😂 Great wrap up on it well done!
Towing along well. The light weight footprint looks great and I am envious, definitely a cub is on my wish list. Might have to hire one first to try and win the family over, cheers 🍻
I'm just about to stop "TOWING" my forward fold camper and start "TOWING" a small caravan (Mobi Nomad). I can honestly say I've loved the camper, mostly using it offroad and would recommend one to anyone staying in one spot for more than 4 days. Another great vid, keep them coming! :)
Looking to get my family into 'Towing' a camper soon. The Cub Frontier would be my personal camp trailers of choice if I had no budget to adhere to. One day, one day. Love the videos Harry.
We have a similar camper but slightly more heavy (SUV Camper). Good to see your experience with this type of camper, great review (finally an influencer who really uses stuff for a longer time and reviews then) The longer hitch is definitely a thing driving a Prado. A lithium/red arc combo will definitely be one of our upgrades when going on longer trips. Using the mini maxtraxs as levellers is a great idea!
We have an SUV Grand too. Towing it is a breeze with our Everest 2 litre bi-turbo and it is really easy to set up like the Cub. Unlike the Cub though, it already comes with a tropical roof and air con. Love it and we've done about 14,000km in it, even up to the top of Cape York. Love F2F!
Harry: I have been "Towing" for longer than you have been alive. Long draw bars ARE a Godsend! A short draw bar makes reversing a pain. This is one of your best videos IMHO . Merry Christmas, from Malaysia.
Bought a Cub weekender second hand. The issue with the bed was there was no central support for the ply. One piece 30x30mm steel bar slid in easy and now there is no sag in the ply. Also ordered replacement mattress from BCF (original was over 12 years old) and it’s been the best. Also used it as a flat bed trailer too, so handy!
We got to see the whole family; Sam, Bill and Fred. 🤗 Our Cavoodle goes nuts when Fred comes into view, it's a real family affair when you guys slide down our screen👍
Towing the right camper trailer can really add to the off road experience lol. Great vid again Harry as always and a very good, straight forward, honest review of the camper trailer.
Good stuff Harry! Cub are absolutely gold!!! We bought a Cub longreach LE and are on our trip of a lifetime around Australia! The wife and two kids have now called it home for 8 months! We agreed on a camper because I didn’t want to be towing a caravan! Legend Great review!!!
The missus and I have been thinking we’ll get a camper trailer one day once we have kids. This was such a great insight on what it’ll be like “towing”! We’ll stick to the rtt for now. Cheers mate
good review. Hot water makes life easier and if you don’t like canvas buy a caravan! As for the solar blanket we were at-2 in Alice Springs and warm, huge difference! Great camper I’ll stick with my Camprite for the same reasons
Towing…My partner and I currently have a “Skamper Kampers Ulitmate Dingo”, it’s not Aussie made but it’s within our budget…for now. We plan to upgrade to either a cub forward fold or possibly look at some hybrids. We love it, have a few minor issues but nothing to complain about.
Had a cub frontier. And found the only problem we had was the heat loss with the canvas in winter and excessively hot in summer. Definitely need a tropical roof. Camper needs a diesel heater to keep worm in winter. Apart from that the camper is great.
Great video mate. As you were going through everything I was wondering what the weight got up to and it's ATM etc. Honestly that's a pretty decent weight I think for something of that size and with all that gear. I had a good look through the Cub Campers at the Sydney 4wd Show and would love to get my hands on one their their Rear Fold ones eventually. If my channel ever takes off and I can travel more like you do I think a Rear Fold would be just fine for me as it would be quick and easy to set up. I looked at the different brands, hybrids etc at the Sydney show and none of them impressed me like the Cub ones did.
We got a cub drifter recently my wife, 2 boys under 2 love it. We have a blast. Cub is by far so superior to other camper trailer brands. It's definitely worth the extra money.
I've always appreciated the Cubs for staying Australian made and keeping weights reasonable for towing. The only thing I would say is keep your mind open to going to the Drifter if your family grows.
Fantastic realworld review, not delectably biased. You could be towing a roadtrain through the glaring omission about why you had to snatch the whole 5t off the rear recovery points, but I suppose that is for another episode once you have processed that both emotionally and financially
I love playing your videos with subtitles, I always love the " it takes so long to set up camper trailer" have you ever sat down and watched these people setup their 3.5t boxes of air I highly suggest to crack a beer and have a geez, I only started on a recent trip to Mt Augustus and I roughly timed 1 bloke at 45 minutes for the 25ft shitwah he dragged in, others seems like an all day affair, love the vid love the camper, we run a Trackabout as it was the only thing that ticked the boxes when we bought but would definitely consider the Frontier and other Cubs once the kids are in swags
Definitely make a cocktail recipe book, I would buy it! I get so boring and just make espresso martinis or live on beer 🍻 nice episode can't wait to try these
We were thinking of "towing" an off-road van, after seeing this review we are seriously thinking of looking at this type of towing setup. #thatsenoughcodewords 😊🍻
Bit late, but what a fantastic towing setup, I'm so keen to buy one but just need to sort out the pros and cons of what to look for before jumping into the deep end.
Your cub trailer that you are towing should be called the tardis you keep pulling out all this fantastic camping and cooking products one very versatile camper trailer.
But does it go well with beer… I reckon it might hey😁 I really miss “towing” my old XTrail camper a very similar camper to that one and I could drag that thing anywhere, the new 17 foot caravan not so much but I still hook in and have a go👍
Towing a much older camper in our 150 Prado, roof rack, loaded, we are about 14-14.5 as well, probably not as heavy but who knows what sort of crap Dad chucks in, most of it is not used!
Hey Harry - we were in front of you about a month ago Towing our Frontier with an Amarok. You pulled out the forest and were behind us until we pulled into Harvey Cheese and I was the old girl waving like a fan girl as you went past. AlsoFYI, the redarc redvision app allows you to turn off lights etc from your phone inside rather than the headunit in case you didnt know. We have the redarc, inverter and near identical Frontier except rear boxes are on order and camo canvas. Happy travels…this is our second CUB, big fans of course
@@firetofork that was the one - good memory! The cheese was excellent - haloumi one of the best I have had (and I love cheese). The soft blue, the swiss (on a toasty) and their butter with herbs were cracking good! Definitely worth the stop
Cub campers are just brilliant mate, Aussie made quality. There’s no other brand I’d rather be “towing” than a cub. Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi bloody cub Oi
You now have me looking at Cub Campers, because I want to be Towing a camper with my Son in 2023 from Perth to The Bathurst 1000. In the meantime I’ve got plenty of time to learn how to cook better 🥩 🔥
One of the most relatable forms of size comparison, “I can fit two cartons of beer in there” oh wow that is huge!! Maybe a future review idea, fill every crevice eg the pantry holds 26 cartons lol maybe a certain mothers milk could jump on board with sponsoring that episode! Also be interesting to see how it is at “towing” with every space full of that golden beauty

Great review Harry. Some great tips and actual experiences. Really liked your breakdown of how you pack and your experiences towing. Thank you 👍

What a great way to create memories for your family and in a camper you know is great for 'Towing'!
Towing the cub is very forgiving with no worries about weights and terrain. I can’t wait to see where you take it next.

Love towing our camper trailer everywhere, especially amongst the red dust up in the Pilbara & Kimberly’s. Ya can’t beat family time.

Thanks for the TOWING tips. Some good ideas for our forward fold camper.
Great review, we have a Frontier also, been on a few trips now and love it. "TOWING"
Great episode mate, love your work! Towing me along the whole video!
Good to see someone happy with a lightweight kind of basic setup that you can take anywhere well done mate 👍
Really great video Harry, looks like you are "towing" the right gear!

Towing your family into awesome adventures, nice work Harry
"Towing" love the recipes and would love the Book. Bought a red roads fire pit as well.
Great trailer review Harry 👌.
Keep TOWING for another year.
Keep up the great work, Harry. The camper looks great. "Towing"
So much easier when towing if it’s nice and light. I have a Marlin Campers soft floor and love it!
Marlin campers also have a built in reflective insulation in between canvas and tropical roof
It can be a bit of a pain towing a camper trailer to some hard to get to places, but when you get there, you've got everything you need.
“Towing” made easy! I love the forward folds! I regret getting rid of mine.
Great TOWING info and tips in that one Harry. Cub Camper looks the ducks nuts!
“Towing “ that looks like a breeze! Love our forward fold, but hubby seems to be future thinking and likes the look of a few hybrids
Great vid have fun towing your cub⛺️🔥
Nice review. Thinking of getting one myself one day, might try the hire option first. TOWING on the beach looks great, have to give that a crack also.
"TOWING" a great camper with a great car . Nice honest review Harry

I love towing my forward fold we have a diesel heater and that means we can camp all year round. From Vic Cub make some nice kit.

Now that’s a trailer I’d like to be towing
Keep up the top videos mate 👌🏻
Great to see you towing! Enjoy
looks great and easy to use and 'towing' would be a dream.
Towing is what’s sold me on this. I’m getting one as soon as I can.
The easy towing is a major for many. Great review

well thought out review with disclaimer...glad to see you are not just "towing"(sic) the line
What a camping spot, dam you find some great places. If you can message me quietly where it is I'll definitely be "Towing" my camper down there.
Great video, the Prado would make towing a dream
Thanks for a good episode Harry! ‘Towing’
Towing a trailer like this off-road is a dream. So nice.
Towing a forward fold is the way to go! Best value for money compared to the heavy, expensive hybrids getting around. And almost fool proof!
Towing a much older camper in our 150 Prado, roof rack, loaded, we are about 14-14.5 as well, probably not as heavy but who knows what sort of crap Dad chucks in, most of it is not used!
The extended drawbar makes towing so much better!

Good skills, wouldn’t even think about doing something like that myself!
You pointing out that you can fit two cartons of beer in that space inside, laughed so much with the enthusiasm almost wet myself 😂😂😂
We have a Cub Scout and love it.
Cub campers are just brilliant mate, Aussie made quality. There’s no other brand I’d rather be “towing” than a cub.
Aussie Aussie Aussie
Oi Oi bloody cub Oi
Camper trailer life is great! “Towing” for the win every time
Towing the Cub looks like a dream!
TOWING need that book for some recipes for Christmas camping in Denmark😉
Been trying to avoid towing but would love to get a camper as the kids get older
Just keep towing.. and enjoying the great outdoors that is OZ... 😉
Annexe/awning facing the sea hope the wind don't get any stronger.
Also be interesting to see how it is at “towing” with every space full of that golden beauty
great review......one day soon i'll dip my "towing" and try "toe-in" a camper !!
How good is it to be an influencer to get a fully spec camper for free to use. Living the dream mate keep it going.
Great review...thx
Hi there,
Love your channel!
Just wondering where that outdoor mat is from? Sounds brilliant for beach camping 😊
That year went quickly!
