Currently this show is steaming on Netflix. I saw that it was trending on Netflix. I am very happy to see more female Manga creators being show her in the states. Also I agree that is nice to see anime with female characters not there a fanfare. Also no harems and pantry shoots. It has been a breath of fresh air. My favorite character is Noi. She has heart of God. Noi is the Japanese version of Pam. Also Shin and Noi are like Jamie and Breanne
@@wildin1170 sadly their "censor" way of censorship its making no nipples for some unknown reasons.... I know that by laws in japan they can't do vaginas and dicks but nipples been part of anime since forever.... I have no idea why they suddenly changed that. The episode where the skull mask character got then lost, giant fake boobs, then shove the little pink dog thing into her dress, had me pissing myself laughing

It's crazy I just finished watching this and enjoyed it. I honestly loved the animation and art style that encompasses the world they live in. It's definitely worth a watch. The villains aren't really villains but people who are likable and whose goals aren't really villainous.
I enjoyed every minute of it it's like Harry Potter on acid and I laughed my ass off all the way to the bank you're fine. You really hungry for a mmm pork flavored Japanese gyoza
I just watched 3 episodes of dorohedoro and it's everything I ever wanted to be in a fantasy world but it offers more than I ever wanted such a fantastic MASTERPIECE
I initially put off Dorohedoro for exactly the reasons described, it was a 3D animated show and I wasn't into that. But after watching just the finishing the entire series in a day I can safely say that this has got to be one of my favourite anime. (Now only just starting the manga and am so hyped)
What I love of the series is that it replicates the manga so faithfully, yet, it's such a different experience. The anime makes everything clear with color and depth so it's a crazy romp, while the manga is so dirty (in a good way) and busy with details that I could spend minutes in just one panel that flashes by in the anime.
as a fan of the manga, watching through the anime for dorohedoro is super cathartic to watch, with the incredible direction and stylization. i absolutely cannot wait for a possible season 2, since my personal favorite moments havent been in the first season
Me: 2D is better than 3D Dorohedoro: OH YEAH? WEEB? WELL, LET ME PROVE YOU WRONG!!!! *12 episodes later Me: EVERYTHING I KNOW IS A LIE! Dorohedoro: YEP!
BTW, the team that worked on the 3D in this show made a dhow named Houseki no Kuni. If you REALLY want to see what 3D anime can look like, go watch that show. It's really good too.
After having watched the anime I can say that It didn’t confuse me at all, we will probably get some mystery’s solved later, but this is now my 2nd favorite anime. It surprised me!!!
The art style is so unique and I love the design of characters and the world that it all takes place in, I cannot believe this all came from the mind of a woman, especially with how gritty and gory Dorohedoro is
I was sold on this Anime when I watch the intro to it and it was so rocking it just begged to be watch. Any anime fan that does not consider this to be great need to have a nice long look at themselves and ask why they watch anime. This has all the great stuff that many anime are famous for. A must watch, right up there with Excel Saga and Dagashi Kashi
So I know it's probably too late for you guys at bonsai pop to even see this, but I wanted to let y'all know that I only watched this anime because of this video, and your recommendation in this video. I love what you guys do I'm sorry I'm behind on your videos and I promise to become a patron after the pandemic.
First of all, Noi is VERY sexy! Secondly, I REALLY hope they renew for a second season. This show is unlike anything I've ever seen and it's sad that there aren't many shows like it out there.
The 3D animation is actually really good and really fits the unsettling atmosphere of the world where everything is off-putting in a really intriguing way.
I have been getting my girlfriend into jojo's bizarre adventure lately, which has made me really disinterested in most videogames and shows these past few days, becouse I just want something new and original right now. So yesterday I sat down and tried a couple of games and different tv shows and anime, which really did not keep my interest for very long, until I got to Dorohedoro. Holy shit what an experience. I really fucking love it.
I’m very particular with my anime but yet I’ve seen too many to name but only a few I’ve genuinely fell in love with being berserk and FMAB mainly I’ve been recommended dorohedro right when it came out by a coworker and I was like eh I don’t really care I’ll maybe watch eventually we’ll October 2022 comes around and I finally decide to give it a look not sure why I did think I was maybe bored enough one day but man IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS IVE MADE ! The show is insane makes me think of JJBA mixed with Akira mixed with ??? It’s so all over the place so many story lines happening at once random shit you couldn’t think of it’s fucking great easily up there as one of my very few favorites so much so I picked up the manga and I Fuckin hate reading it’s a chore to keep up with one piece weekly but I can’t put dorohedro down if you wanted a sign or reason to watch it this is it go fucking do it
i'm gonna totally put a target on myself and sound like the wild anime snob BUT if you're using netflix to keep up with new you need to reevaluate some stuff. also, the subbed version is superior imo the voice acting has a something extra that got lost in the english dub. also narrator guy, it's doROhedoro not dodohedoro
Dorohedoro is like when you watching Berserk x Harry Potter while you smoking weed and injecting LSD in your vein at the same time... That's the best part and I love it.
Thank you so much for recommending this! This show felt like such a breath of fresh air after all the anime that Came out lately. I laughed out loud so many times and it's not even a comedy anime. It doesn't use overused overreaction shots or cheap fan service it's legit great comedy. Of anyone thinks about watching this and not sure than you should definitely watch this if you're tired from passive protagonist that their defining trait is their kindness or love of comrades, oversexualized women and contrived plot
This show is has immediately climbed super high on my own list it's a must watch and if it runs it's course... to some satisfying ending. Damn it might be in top 3 of mine.
A friend recommended Dorohedoro to me yesterday, and I binged all of it last night. Very interesting world and story, but I'd be lying if I said the 3D style doesn't hold it back; probably not as much as other many of the other 3D anime out there, since it does well enough with stylizing the characters to fit in their environment. However, the characters still have that very noticeable stiff and rigid movement that feels lifeless. If you just can't get past the 3D animation, then I'd say you should read the manga. If you don't mind the animation, then it is definitely a reccomended watch.
We are at the day and age where 3D anime can look amazing . As a 3D animator gives me hope that one day I can make my own 3D anime (or at least in that style). Ever since I saw Beastars I have been starving to find 3D anime. Saw Drifting Dragons and enjoyed it l. Just finished Dorohedoro left me at the edge of my seats and I want to see more. This is definitely worth your time and deserves a second season.
Dude, thank you for raising awareness about Dorohedoro's greatness. Definitely it has a unique artstyle that deviates from a lot of manga I've been reading - mostly slice-of-life in modern settings. But it was just SO HARD to find appealing apocalyptic/zany-themed stories with great characters, great world-building, and great connections. It's especially now a very niche area in manga/anime. Yet, Dorohedoro does a great job of bringing everything full circle. And I think that might be what makes it amazing. It truly is unpredictable, in such a way that I wonder if Q.H. found it easier to connect the dots in weirdly plausible ways. It's a masterpiece and really does justice to its title. I've looked into a couple of sites and even went back to manga sites for T/L notes. Apparently "Dorohedoro", can translate to "mud-sludge" or "mud-to-mud." Reminds me of the "ashes to ashes, dust to dust" Biblical motif about God's plan. Idk if there's a intentional or accidental connection. It's just real genius, if anyone who read the manga front to end knows what I mean.
DoroHeDoro is absolutely incredible. Truly spectacular worldbuilding, great animation, interesting characters, amazing intro, and both the subs and dubs are top notch. An instant classic
What you failed to mention is that Q Hayashida used to be Tsutomu Nihei's assistant (The dude behind Blame!, Knights of Sidonia, Wolverine Snikt! ...) , wich really shows in her gritty and cryptic worldbuilding. Where she really outshine Nihei though, is in her joyfull, positive naration. (Wich really contrast with Nihei's cold nihilism) Sorry but it worth bringing it up since they both are absolute ufo in the manga landscape and only recently got the attention they deserved
I just finished this anime, and I absolutely loved it. The art is so impressive and even though it's 3D, I really liked the animation, it never felt like it was used to save time or money, it works just as well if not better than 2D. And that's just the visuals. I enjoyed every other aspect aswell . The soundtrack, the voice acting, the story and the characters. Highly recommend.
I think you forgot about a very important aspect of the adaptation: the music is absolutely amazing and composed of absolute bangers. The gritty post industrial sound coupled with pop, electronics mixed with brass, it really brings the atmosphere and the madness of the setting out. I listen it on repeat every day, its amazing
I saw clips of this show before it came to netflix. Once It came out I was hooked. The dark art and comedy style was right up my alley. I love Shin and Noi they have a great dynamic. Honestly, I think the interpersonal stuff is great. I hope it gets another season,
@@andressaldivar6669 I just put how I would pronounce it. Doro he Doro. Not Doro hed Oro. They pronounce it at the end of every episode both dub and sub.
Saw it and I really enjoyed it, hope it gets a 2nd season, all the characters are awesome, my personal favorite is Fujita because to me he's the most real, not the strongest guy with the strongest power but stills try to improve and make do with what he got and the goofball duo he has with Ebisu
It's a slow burn and has over a hundred ep so I don't know if it'll be for everyone, but it really is the best. Though I think that LoGH is decidedly not punk in its aesthetic/tone. Not only is the soundtrack pure classical, but the story is downright operatic. If only Kircheis worked with Bonsai Pop.
I binged this series so quick and I loved every minute of it it’s so wild, weird, gory, unique, interesting and fun I’m going to start reading the manga to see what the anime left out and so I don’t have to wait for season 2 I’m so hyped and hooked on this series
I wanna give it a shot but I just really dislike that CGI style anime. Strongly dislike. Berserk 2016 really put me off to this style and even before then I was never a fan. 2D all the way
Personaly I really like this style and this is what drew me to this series. It's not flat 2d like traditional anime and matches really good with the comic book.

From here: studybreaks.com/tvfilm/dorohedoro-netflix-adaptation/
Currently this show is steaming on Netflix. I saw that it was trending on Netflix. I am very happy to see more female Manga creators being show her in the states. Also I agree that is nice to see anime with female characters not there a fanfare. Also no harems and pantry shoots. It has been a breath of fresh air. My favorite character is Noi. She has heart of God. Noi is the Japanese version of Pam. Also Shin and Noi are like Jamie and Breanne
*Nikaido isn't highly sexualized
Me: Don't worry, that comes later!
nooooooooooo :(
Say sike right now

She gonna dress likes uh.... Devil later in the story.
I wonder how the anime will censor her devil outfit
Here’s hoping they just don’t censor it-
@@wildin1170 sadly their "censor" way of censorship its making no nipples for some unknown reasons.... I know that by laws in japan they can't do vaginas and dicks but nipples been part of anime since forever.... I have no idea why they suddenly changed that. (manga its filled with nudity and fan service btw)
Can't begin to thank you for putting this series on my radar. Literally the best anime I watched this year.
The episode where the skull mask character got then lost, giant fake boobs, then shove the little pink dog thing into her dress, had me pissing myself laughing
i’m a shoujo light thing type of girl, when the first ep came live i saw it and omg i devoured the manga in a couple of days while waiting for the next chapters i’m still hooked as fuck with every character. i wish the anime was longer tho bc i feel is a weird summary of the manga if that makes sense???
it baffles me how more people aren't talking about this series. It's so good. the aesthetic, the humor, and plot are all very unique
One of the most unique anime I’ve ever watched till date, amazingly weird👌🏼
I went from not knowing absolutely nothing about it, to becoming one of my most favourites series ever. I fell in love with the scenarios, the lore, the weirdness, the art... Is just perfect. Clearly a one-of-a-kind.
"Spoiler free"
*Spoils No1 is a girl*
Shockiiing~
Tbh the voice gives her out 100%, in manga it was more ambiguous :(
@@zabi_aka yea..in the Japanese you can kinda maybe think it's a peppy young guy?..But it does give it away.
And the English dub is even worse, the voice is similar but the cadence is clearly female.
But it's a second episode reveal, so not a huge spoiler.
When I saw her I thought she was more like alphonse, a kid with a big ass body
@LYRIC TAYLOR MURGA She's huge..at first when I read the manga I thought it was a guy with pecs like Terry Crews..
Zabi_aka just like turkey
It's crazy I just finished watching this and enjoyed it. I honestly loved the animation and art style that encompasses the world they live in. It's definitely worth a watch. The villains aren't really villains but people who are likable and whose goals aren't really villainous.
This was actually one of the most fun and fantastic anime I’ve seen in years. Loved it. Really want season 2
you went over everything that's been on my mind about this show!! i think i might cry happy tears if we get a season two.
My girlfriend and I rewatched dorohedoro over and over when it hit netflix. Its pure enjoyment. We need more.
I enjoyed every minute of it it's like Harry Potter on acid and I laughed my ass off all the way to the bank you're fine. You really hungry for a mmm pork flavored Japanese gyoza
I'm still dying for a 2nd season. Such a good anime
I just watched 3 episodes of dorohedoro and it's everything I ever wanted to be in a fantasy world but it offers more than I ever wanted such a fantastic MASTERPIECE
I watched the whole thing yesterday and I can't wait for season 2.
The soundtrack also fit perfectly 🔥🔥🔥
WHen I watched Dorohedoro, 1 episode in and I was like "So thats what happens if you mix Jojo's bizarre adventures with Brutal Legends"
as a fan of the manga, watching through the anime for dorohedoro is super cathartic to watch, with the incredible direction and stylization. i absolutely cannot wait for a possible season 2, since my personal favorite moments havent been in the first season
Me: 2D is better than 3D
Dorohedoro: OH YEAH? WEEB? WELL, LET ME PROVE YOU WRONG!!!!
*12 episodes later
Me: EVERYTHING I KNOW IS A LIE!
Dorohedoro: YEP!
i am ok with 3d as long as it is done well and/or has a nice ascetic
BTW, the team that worked on the 3D in this show made a dhow named Houseki no Kuni. If you REALLY want to see what 3D anime can look like, go watch that show. It's really good too.
Yup
Well every scene that was animated in full 2D (most of the flachbacks) looked way better than the 3D throughout the show
3Ds been good for a while now.
After having watched the anime I can say that It didn’t confuse me at all, we will probably get some mystery’s solved later, but this is now my 2nd favorite anime. It surprised me!!!
Damn, her art style is like Japanese Todd McFarlane! This is amazing, definitely gonna watch it!
HER?!
WOW
The art style is so unique and I love the design of characters and the world that it all takes place in, I cannot believe this all came from the mind of a woman, especially with how gritty and gory Dorohedoro is
@@sparkstop6207 "i cannot believe this all came from the mind of a woman" ...what?
this anime is such a breath of fresh air, loved it
I was sold on this Anime when I watch the intro to it and it was so rocking it just begged to be watch.
As a manga reader
This story is fcking amazing and detailed which is completely explained at the end
I just love how gritty and unapologetic Dorohedoro is while having very likable characters from all sides. Solid anime, must watch!
I enjoyed the old style of art . It reminded me of the late 80,s early 90,s anime . Good job covering it .
Yeah its. Too damn old. Cowboy Bebop looked cooler
Isn’t this anime made by the same person who made “Akira” anime movie? Looks great
yea dorohedoro was made in 1999
Season 2 is apparently announced and i cant wait i have read the manga but this anime is so out of left field that you cant help but watch it
First of all, Noi is VERY sexy!
Secondly, I REALLY hope they renew for a second season. This show is unlike anything I've ever seen and it's sad that there aren't many shows like it out there.
The 3D animation is actually really good and really fits the unsettling atmosphere of the world where everything is off-putting in a really intriguing way.
This show feels like something Madhouse would have made in the 90's.
Everything about this was so awesome! The style, the characters, the music. I look forward to another season
Totally agreed, this is one of my favourite animes out there due to its interesting colour usages and its courageous attempts at brutal violence
Thanks for making this, the world needs more Dorohedoro!!
Dorohedoro is so good
Also probably the first time i saw a manga that had both opening and outros being so goddamn fire, i have them on loop and i cannot get enough of them
I have been getting my girlfriend into jojo's bizarre adventure lately, which has made me really disinterested in most videogames and shows these past few days, becouse I just want something new and original right now.
It’s so all over the place so many story lines happening at once random shit you couldn’t think of it’s fucking great easily up there as one of my very few favorites so much so I picked up the manga and I Fuckin hate reading it’s a chore to keep up with one piece weekly but I can’t put dorohedro down if you wanted a sign or reason to watch it this is it go fucking do it
IT WAS SO GOOD! We need season 2!!
I wish they'll keep making seasons to cover the whole story. The last chapters would become instant classics if adapted into an anime.
Just finish binging last night and all I can say is I can’t wait for season 2!!
I watched this as it was coming out, and it truly wowed me every episode. Dorohedoro is wonderful
I like how everyone is just now talking about dorohedoro ever since it got released on Netflix
i'm gonna totally put a target on myself and sound like the wild anime snob BUT if you're using netflix to keep up with new you need to reevaluate some stuff. also, the subbed version is superior imo the voice acting has a something extra that got lost in the english dub. also narrator guy, it's doROhedoro not dodohedoro
Getting this in anime form is a godsend. The manga is fucking WILD.
If you haven't seen it yet definitely check out Land of the Lustrous! It's by Studio Orange, the same studio that did Beastars.
Just as I hope to animate well like many 90s anime, I hope you achieve your dream as well.
Thankfully I don”t have an issue with 3D anime, the only issue I have is Live Action anime by ’anybody’, although I heard the Bleach one isn’t too bad
I love how every character feels like a main character and is very likable
DoroHeDoro is absolutely incredible. Truly spectacular worldbuilding, great animation, interesting characters, amazing intro, and both the subs and dubs are top notch.
An instant classic
What you failed to mention is that Q Hayashida used to be Tsutomu Nihei's assistant (The dude behind Blame!, Knights of Sidonia, Wolverine Snikt! ...) , wich really shows in her gritty and cryptic worldbuilding.
Where she really outshine Nihei though, is in her joyfull, positive naration. (Wich really contrast with Nihei's cold nihilism)
Sorry but it worth bringing it up since they both are absolute ufo in the manga landscape and only recently got the attention they deserved
Mike how did you get a haircut during quarantine!?
I lost my patience and just shaved all of mine off.
Hey I don't even have equipment to cut off my hair. My hair over here looking likes a helmet.
That has been my choice since I have been able to choose
I like dickhead look NGL
I read the manga through two or three times, one of my all time favorites.

PICK ONE. I want Nikaido's milk.
I saw clips of this show before it came to netflix. Once It came out I was hooked. The dark art and comedy style was right up my alley. I love Shin and Noi they have a great dynamic. Honestly, I think the interpersonal stuff is great. I hope it gets another season,
Doro HE Doro...
Also better than not "better then"
Jesus Christ Mike.
? Well then how would you pronounce it ?
@@andressaldivar6669 I just put how I would pronounce it. Doro he Doro. Not Doro hed Oro. They pronounce it at the end of every episode both dub and sub.
Dorohedoro one word.
This show is SOOO good!!! By far my favorite anime of 2020! Speaking of Netflix anime any chance you'll do an episode on Kegan Ashura??
It’s “than” not “then” and yes I am the spelling police
cerda24 thank you, fellow policeman.
then... than wot I never knew that, whats the difference? (english not my main language btw)
@@GatsuRage "than" is when you're comparing something, and "then" is used when talking about something relating to time.
Saw it and I really enjoyed it, hope it gets a 2nd season, all the characters are awesome, my personal favorite is Fujita because to me he's the most real, not the strongest guy with the strongest power but stills try to improve and make do with what he got and the goofball duo he has with Ebisu
> focused on classics
Legend of the Galactic Heroes, boys
It's a slow burn and has over a hundred ep so I don't know if it'll be for everyone, but it really is the best.
Though I think that LoGH is decidedly not punk in its aesthetic/tone. Not only is the soundtrack pure classical, but the story is downright operatic.
If only Kircheis worked with Bonsai Pop.
Honestly the best 3d animated anime I've ever watched. Amazing story also
Doro he doro makes stuff like aot look like utter trash.
I binged this series so quick and I loved every minute of it
it’s so wild, weird, gory, unique, interesting and fun I’m going to start reading the manga to see what the anime left out and so I don’t have to wait for season 2 I’m so hyped and hooked on this series
I wanna give it a shot but I just really dislike that CGI style anime. Strongly dislike. Berserk 2016 really put me off to this style and even before then I was never a fan. 2D all the way
The CG in this anime is watchable.
Personaly I really like this style and this is what drew me to this series. It's not flat 2d like traditional anime and matches really good with the comic book.
While I don't love the CGI style myself it's not inherently bad. You absolutely should give Dorohedoro a chance, I loved every second of it!
Johnson only saying "shocking" was always perfectly used at the right time.
