I have to burrito my 6mo in a towel. It's somewhat traumatic for her but she's aggressive towards my 13 yr old who's declawed and she plays rough scratching my hands arms too much. I just talk to her calmly while she lets me know she's not happy. Just talk calmly and go slow especially if they are struggling. Really wrap them so you can control one paw at a time. Trying to find a better way as well :)
Wear a pair of gardening or mechanic gloves and a sweatshirt or jacket. Thick enough gear you won't feel any bites or claws while focusing on trimming.
It’s scary the first time! Always cut less on the nail if i’m doing and definitely ask a groomer or vet where you should cut. You can even read some stuff online about where you should be cutting at. I don’t even hestistate when cutting their nails anymore and I cut them once a month
It's going to be the first time I'm going to trim the clawas of my fur babay. I'm getting help from a friend who has done this before to his old kittie who passed away some years ago. As a 1st time cat dad, I bet that my Maya won't be that easy.
What is the best way to remove nail caps?
Thank you! Holding her this way really worked.
you’re welcome! Thanks for letting me know!
Thank you!!! So informative!
also what a good baby!
My cat would bite me if I try that but I need to cut the nails. Any ideas?
