I absolutely adore Scotia's face. She's beautiful. This channel has brought me so much joy, peace, happiness, laughs and a few cries too. Thank you for all you do for these precious fur babies.
I'm so proud of Scotia. She's been through so much w just this 1 litter & has many reasons not to like humans, but she's also seen the good in them too. I'm glad she's shredding her feral card. She's deserves a wonderful home & a human to love her. 💕
I skimmed the title of the video "Meditation and nail trims on a fearful cat" and thought: "Wow, Shelly always comes up with awesome new ideas! Let's see if meditation can calm Scotia down..."
It always surprises me at how small some Mamas are. They look average size until their partially grown kitten is nearby. Then you can really see the difference.
Shelly , you're the best !!! What a great video. From Years of experience and remaining calm pays off. Thank you ! I'd like to apply this to my feral Lil Gray but I can't even get close to her and I'd hate to trap her. She needs flea treatment and ear treatment. So frustrating. This video is great even for our calm friends who dislike their nails trimmed and being medicated. Priceless. ❤Shelly !! Bravo 👏👏👏 PS.. I'm 71 and I've rescued kitties all my adult life .. I've learned soooo much in the years I've been following and supporting Tiny Kittens. I love you all, thank you for sharing your wealth of information and experience with us.
My cat is a former feral. She's very socialized to me and my friends now after 11 years, but you still can't reach toward her with an open hand from in front of her -- you have to first present the back of your hand, let her sniff it, and only after she gives the hand a little rub with her face will she let you pet her from in front. I think there's a lot of hope for Scotia with the right, patient, adopter.
Thank you so much Shelly for all you do! I have learned so much from watching you, and I know there is a lot more to learn. I admire you and the TK team so much!! ❤
I could have never imagined how to tackle medicating and claw trimming a feral cat. A feral mama picked us about 15 months ago to bring her litter of 4 to. At 5 months, we caught the kittens and adopted them. The day after their spay & neuters, we caught the mom. Adopted her too. Her claws were trimmed at her spay, and vaccines done then too. Haven't trimmed her claws myself yet. She was spayed 4 months ago... Hoping we can pet her someday! 😊
I’d like to say just how so amazing Shelly is with the most feral of feral cats.❤️👏🏻👏🏻🥰. I have watched her with the most extreme feral mamas like Scotia and Shelly is just so darn amazing and I surly do admire her so very much the things that she has to do and ensure too to help the feral cats and also to help them to heal and get better from whatever it may be that the ferals have to heal from. Shelly sure DOES ROCK when it comes to how she loves and cares for the ferals in he care and those that are outside too. Hugs to TK and Shelly always! God bless Sue M Florida, USA ❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😺🙏🫶🏻😊😘🥰👍🏻❌⭕️❌⭕️
Scotia is a lot more tolerant about nail-trimming than my non-feral cat. I'm kind of at a loss how to do it because I average about 0-1 nail per week (and I make multiple attempts), as mine tries to whap me or bite me, then she hides her paws. Covering won't work for mine because she wouldn't be subdued about it. As it is, I only manage to basically get just the sharp tips off when I can (usually when she's half asleep but she's a light sleeper) because I have to be so quick about it. I did it a few times when she was a kitten and I never hurt her so I thought she would have gotten used to it but I guess not.
Thank you! I have 5 indoor cats all of different ages, my first birn fur baby lol is turning 9 soon, so i need to start doing this. Are the scissors or that nail electrical trimmer better?.
I'm not an expert, but I'm found that the best trimming tool is whichever one you can be the most comfortable & efficient with. Some people even use human nail clippers cause that's what they're most precise with.
Scotia has made a lot of progress with liking/trusting humans, and they're hoping to socialize her and find an adopter for her. Not to mention cats can get ingrown claws or long claws can catch on things and get torn if you don't trim them.
Hmmm... Scotia comes out from under the towel and sits down maybe a foot and a half away from Shelly, then stays sitting there while Shelly combs her chest fur... Yep, terror and scars all right! ;-D
Scotia is actually adapting to being inside and a vital part of losing the feral card is a nail trim. She also acts a lot better than my cat who's never been feral and a lot better than his reaction afterwards.
I absolutely adore Scotia's face. She's beautiful. This channel has brought me so much joy, peace, happiness, laughs and a few cries too. Thank you for all you do for these precious fur babies.
Shelly the cat tamer. Hope Miss Scotia finds a great home.
Hitchie the helper!
Scotia is being so brave.

Scotia is such a good kitty. So much life change in less than a year.
aww look at Hitch helping!!!
What a good model you are, Scotia! And Hitch, you were so helpful! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hitch is adorable...😂❤
Sweet scotia....baby Hitch is hilarious
I really hope that Scotia and Hitch will find the perfect home together, very soon! ❤
Shelly, you and TK are amazing! I love how you teach. ♥️
I jumped when shelley changed paws and then SCotia hissed lol

Aww I love the ending. she's so precious!
I have a cat who came to us as a semi-feral - so this is a helpful lesson - thank you so much, Shelly ! ❤
It always surprises me at how small some Mamas are. They look average size until their partially grown kitten is nearby. Then you can really see the difference.
I wish I lived closer. I would adopt Scotia and one of her kittens.
You can be sure that there are cats near you who are equally in need of a home - I hope you'll soon find a fur family of your very own. 😺
Yes, I am aware of that @chezmoi42!
Hitchy being such a helper! LOL!
Shelly, you’re so amazing with the cats ❤
What a good girl! She has come a long way ❤❤
These feral cats have taught us all so much! Bravo, Shelly - you an inspiration to us all.
Every RUclips video should have such a cute helper.
My former-feral girl was still growling and hissing and swatting at 20 years old! Dear Scotia reminds me of her in the best way.
Sweet Scotia did very well! 😀😀🐱🐈
scotia the resillient🥰
What a great instructional video! My only disappointment is that Shelly didn't use the expression "snout awareness" 😆
Looks like Hitchy is taking over for Coach
i love Scotia shes come so far
The Grey tsbby losing its damn mind on that banana toy isn't helping the situation at all. which is freaking hilarious.
Scotia is looking so healthy and her coat is great. What a change from the way she was when rescued!
Hitch (?) Is so big! I have to go back and watch the adoptions. I've missed so much!😿😽
I love Scotia! Please someone adopt her and Hitch together! I would but in the States.
This is so helpful!!!! My cat isnt feral but she will slice and dice you given the chance when pilling.
I wish I could adopt her.....she's so pretty.
I would love her into being a love bug!
Scotia and Hitch ❤❤❤

Brilliant! More tutorials please
Language Scotia!!!
Are they hoping to adopt these two together?
Thank you! You've helped me safely medicate my cat❤️
Aww, so sweet. ❤
I have a feisty one for nails trims. I use an e-collar and wrap her up like a burrito. I also purr to her. It seems to settle her down.

Thank you so much for showing this
Thank you so much! I have looked and looked for a way to do my semiferals nails and this is the ONLY video I’ve found online!
You make it look so easy! I can’t even get close to my cat. 😹
I learned a usefull tip today
My God, you are good❤❤❤ You could tame a lion😊😊😊

I have to bring my cat to the vet for nail trims.
He's sweet about everything else, but touching his paws he will bite.
No way my feral stays that calm with a blanket on him!!
Hi mama
When she goes to her home, she will need to have her nails trimmed.
Can't forget thod chin rubs..
I got a jump scare 😅
More Churu please.
She doesn’t like blankets, her adopter better have a duvet.
I tried that with my feral and she just jumps out. I have a net and will try the net soon. Have my feral in safe room for meds for UTI.
What is the gabapentin for? it usually takes 30 minutes to an hour to take effect so it can't have been for the nail trim?
Will the blanket affect the cat's breathing?
Thank you! I have 5 indoor cats all of different ages, my first birn fur baby lol is turning 9 soon, so i need to start doing this.

My domesticated cat is worse than that not sure how that was so easy for her
Why are you hissing? She is a nice lady, she gives treats.
Why are you trying to trim a feral kitty's nails? Seems like a needless activity that only terrorizes the cat and leaves you with new scars.
scotia is being socialized and will be adopted into a home

Nail trims are necessary to avoid cat getting their nails caught on toys and the carpet
You make it look easy, thanks for the instruction!
