This is exactly what I have been wanting, and the drawbacks don't phase me, really. It won't be all things to all people, but if you have embraced the next generation of computing, moving away from tethered accessories, and especially if you have a second machine at home, this thing cannot be beat.
This machine only exists for the sake of existing. For the price it's sold a Macbook Pro Retina 13 makes more sense, or a MB Air, and for the power an iPad Air 2 is more woth it.

The battery is powerful enough to plug myself into the TV and watch a movie. And I can carry it from the kitchen to the living room to the bedroom without much effort. I don't take it out (no need to) but with this I simply don't want an iPad Pro. This is FAR better.

I definitely love this laptop..yes, I have a pro and an iMac...but like you said, this one is great for travel, which I do quite a bit, ports aren't a problem as I have a WD mycloud and everything is always on it that's important..

I personally have a distaste for the backlit logo. It always had a gaudy "LOOK AT ME" vibe to it. I feel like the new reflective logo gives off the premium feeling that the iPhone, iPad, and even iPod touch have had since 2012.
