Disagree completely. The ghost and myth stories are the best. The show changed into a missing persons show in the later years...no different from America's Most Wanted. The mix of stories in the show's earlier years (Ghost, esoteric, government conspiracies, UFOs, myths from olden days, crimes) was what made it so unique. Think I remember one episode that had segments on Bigfoot, Kurt Cobain's death, and a husband who murdered his wife...all in the span of 20 minutes. Love the variety
Unresolved. In June of 2002, police dug up the yard of former priest Stephen Kiesle's vacation home, hoping to find evidence in Amber's case. Kiesle lived down the street from her at the time of her disappearance. Kiesle was arrested in May for molesting three girls at a church in Fremont. Fourteen others came forward and accused him of abuse. Many of the victims matched Amber's age and description. However, no evidence was found at his home. It is not known if he still is a suspect in her case. In July of 2009, investigators announced that they had identified Amber's killer. In 2007, convicted child rapist and killer Curtis Dean Anderson confessed to her abduction and subsequent murder. He claimed that he wanted "company" on a road trip to his aunt's house in Arizona. He was familiar with the Pinole area and spotted Amber in her front yard. After pulling her into his car, he drugged her and took her to a motel where he suffocated her. After her death, he dumped her body somewhere near Benson, Arizona, off of Highway 10. Investigators confirmed that Anderson was in the Pinole area at the time of Amber's abduction. However, they could not find any physical evidence to corroborate the confession. Anderson said that he purposely taunted cops with false information. Anderson died in December of 2007, one month after his confession. Prior to his death, he also confessed to several other murders; however, police were unable to connect any other crimes to him. The case was officially closed after the announcement was made. In recent years, a petition to reopen the Pinole Police Department stranger abduction case was launched and in the fall of 2013 the case was subsequently reopened. Kim believes that Anderson was lying when he confessed. Investigators are trying to corroborate or refute his confession.

In January of 1997, Sandra's death was ruled a homicide. An autopsy determined that she had suffered bruises, scratches and other injuries which were not the result of the fall or hitting the railing. In March 2001, Robert Salazar was arrested and charged with the murder of Sandra Orellana. Authorities noted that new DNA evidence and witness statements helped to solidify their case. Key pieces of evidence include: Sandra's blood found on a shirt belonging to Salazar, her blood on her bed sheet, and Salazar's skin cells underneath her fingernails. Authorities believed that Salazar tried to sexually assault Sandra. They believe he killed her to prevent her from revealing the attack. In October 2002, Salazar went on trial. One month later, however, he was acquitted of the charges. Jurors claimed that there wasn't enough evidence of a struggle to say it was a homicide.
ElSpewtardo yeah, I can't understand how jurors can disregard the fact he changed his story, she had his skin cells under her fingernails & blood on the sheets, but yet there was 'no' struggle. How ironic that Tim was awarded $90 thousand but visited Amber's grave 90 times.
You mean Angela's grave, because Amber's body has not been found.
I bet Tim makes a career of making himself suspicious and then suing for slander. I used to have a friend who made some pocket money going to stores looking like he was shoplifting, getting stopped, and then getting gift cards as an apology. Over and over and over at different stores.
@@ThePeterDislikeShow you should get friends who are less suspicious looking
That last case about the father and son. During two separate incidents in 2010, Jonathan, now 20, brutally beat Gilbert, irrationally blaming him for his mother’s imprisonment. In January 2011, he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and inflicting great bodily injury. He later pleaded no contest to the charges and was sentenced to four years in prison.
Not excusing his actions but his mother poisoned his mind telling him his dad was evil.
Oh my God, that's terribly sad.
@@THERSC216 Clearly, oh my that's sad to hear how desperate he was for a reunion with his son just for his son to later beat him badly

The last story. 39:13 We found her in Mexico in March 2000. 40:59 She's been sentenced to 25 to life, has served her time and has been released. I'm watching this in 2019. Something doesn't add up...
Most folks don’t end up serving their full sentence unless sentence also states ‘no possibility of parole’ so I’m sure she got out due to some ‘good behavior’ BS. Also we all know they treat women with kid gloves when it comes to prison terms.
Let’s not forget Jonathan also served time in jail for beating his father and blamed him for his mother being in prison.
Dan Cooper! I knew you were alive 🤣
With good behavior they can do half the time unless its federal in which you do all the time.
@@happydayz7857 - 16-17 years for attempted murder isnt a lenient sentence at all. The group that gets treated with kid gloves the most are police officers when they commit crimes. They’ll get suspended with pay outcomes for murdering people. Zero jail time.

@I. Wynn Wynn Ah shut up! They're psychopaths. Not men. Making general statements on a multifaceted topic is dangerous. You only help the division between men and women instead of seeking what unites us. The average level headed person doesn't wanna kill or be killed.
@I. Wynn Wynn Odd use of the word "literally". And 95 % of ALL crime? Really?! Some small bandwidths of violent crimes during some time period maybe. All crime? No way...
@@annnee6818 In 2014, more than 73% of those arrested in the US were males. Men accounted for 80.4 percent of persons arrested for violent crime and 62.9 percent of those arrested for property crime. Most children get hurt or die at the hands of parents who should never breed
Anyone who makes serious threats against someone who ends up murdered should be detained and have a search warrant for his home, car, place of work and should be interrogated as well. The Amber Swartz case has been edited quite a bit. I'm guessing they left out some parts that might look defamatory to Timothy Bindner.
Damn the part when the man said he watching his life go by without a family hurt. I'm doing the same as all I've seen is disrespect and finally realize no one cares about youngest little old me. And I'm fine with that never let family's disrespect become respect you'll know the difference
The connection between the baby and her father touched me.

Ouch
Were these numbers adjusted for inflation for the show? Nobody has so much credit in the 1980s.
at least someone got something out of it, these days parents open their credit card statements to find 33 thousand dollars charged for lootboxes in fortnite
@@ThePeterDislikeShow in the 80s was a boom in credit and companies were throwing credit at people left right and centre, only recently has it become the case that people are getting in as much debt today with credit as they were back in the 80s. it was the 80s at the loyalty programs such as frequent flyer miles etc were introduced, in a bid to tempt people to getting credit. it was the 1980s that all the major credit card companies introduced their platinum cards, again in a bid to lure competitors both from the public and from their competitors with the best deals and the promise of buy now pay later and as i said, it wasnt until a couple of years ago that the average household held as much debt via credit cards as they did back in the 80s so yes, lots of people had lots of credit in the 80s - its probably why these guys did what they did
Salazar-Orellana case bugs the hell out of me. The jury didn´t think Salazar could have tidied the room up afterwards? SMH. They didn´t mention it here but he actually pretended she was still alive the next day by waiting for her in the lobby and leaving a voice message on her room phone, this is all before he confessed to witnessing her death. The prosecution probably didn't present the case to the jury properly
@@tgirl1762 Who knows? It seemed like they presented a mountain of evidence against him. I think some of the eye witnesses who claimed to see the pair kissing in the restaurant earlier in the night may have dissuaded the jury. Even so, the evidence against him was compelling.

UM removed the scene from the original broadcast in which the actor portraying Tim Binder creepily and coldly says to Amber's mother that Amber is dead, and they are searching for her body. Perhaps Binder also brought a defamation lawsuit against the producers of UM, and they edited that bit out of the episode.

I loved this episode. No ghosts or myths stories. Just real attention on the missing, those wanted in custody, etc.
I love the ghost stories
Ghosts/myths/murders are the best parts

There is an update to the Michaela girl (sorry if I misspelled her name, rip little angel). A fingerprint found on her scooter was matched to an incarcerated convict who had murdered a couple other women. His name escapes me and good, he doesn't deserve remembering. He refuses to talk to authorities but he is the strongest suspect.
Check out the wiki page for Michaela. There's a good bit of information out on there after this episode aired. ❤️🌹❤️
With Robert Salazar, was there no signs of struggle, due to the fact she was drugged or intoxicated? Seems an open & shut case to me.
ElSpewtardo looks like he picked just the right showman type lawyer to win the jury over.
ElSpewtardo yeah, I can't understand how jurors can disregard the fact he changed his story, she had his skin cells under her fingernails & blood on the sheets, but yet there was 'no' struggle. Would've like to have been a fly on the wall during the trial & in the room while the jurors deliberated so I could know why her life had such little meaning in their judgement.
Juries are filled with idiots who think a college degree means they're smart. Robert's lawyer probably pandered to those dullards and the actual facts were too boring.
@@albakreuk5830 She had a blood alcohol level of 0.22 which may have been a factor in convincing the jury that she fell by accident from the balcony.

@Melinda Francis Early 90s? That's too recent. Crime was worse in the early 90s than today. You were just lucky. I should know. I was already an adult in my early 20s in the early '90s.
That was completely normal back then. Almost every house had a stay at home mom. Kids were constantly in and out of houses all day long until the street lights came on. Angela’s case was in the early 80s. It was NORMAL for children to be outside playing without parents…we’d walk or bike blocks and blocks away. We’d be outside all day long.
