It was later learned in addition to his heavy drinking he was doing crack cocaine he didn't want the burden and financial responsibility of his son's high medical bills due to his son Billy Fischer Cystic Fibrosis there's no logic to a mind on drugs and when he went on the run it was easier to disappear its hard to believe he hasn't been caught after nearly 30yrs.
At the beginning of the Nancy & Billy story, I assumed that Billy would have ended up murdering Nancy, after she rejected his advances. I really hope he meets a fatal demise before then! I don't get why at that point Ben didn't just tell his parents they would have given him the money to get Nick back. The story said they were holding him for the money. Ben was as bad as the ones who murdered his brother.

I remember the case of William Peter Fischer on American's Most Wanted when it first aired. How Fischer abandoned the family and the boys Billy and his brother Jason went into foster care when the mother had a mental breakdown; later when he remarried he only reconnected with his son's because he didn't want his current wife's family to view him as a bad person. It was later learned in addition to his heavy drinking he was doing crack cocaine he didn't want the burden and financial responsibility of his son's high medical bills due to his son Billy Fischer Cystic Fibrosis there's no logic to a mind on drugs and when he went on the run it was easier to disappear its hard to believe he hasn't been caught after nearly 30yrs.

At the beginning of the Nancy & Billy story, I assumed that Billy would have ended up murdering Nancy, after she rejected his advances. Never did I imagine that Billy's father would commit such an atrocious act against these two young folks. What a monster! Family isn't always loyal. Some of the most supportive people in your life don't have to be blood-related. Nancy sounded like she had a heart of gold, repaying Billy's kindness. Billy sounded sweet too, they were good kids. It’s almost like they didn’t want the cops involved at first because of there illegal drug activities and wanted to get the kidnapping negations handled between the families because in the movie dealing drugs seem like an family business; but ultimately I think if the would of got the cops involved from the beginning the brother would be alive today.

I don't think it was many days. It was only 6 days between Nick getting taken and his body being found. Nick's parents probably got wind of him being with Jesse, and that he was partying and having fun, not thinking much of it. For all we know they were about to call the police until they heard he was with his brother's friend. But yes, something is missing in the timeline.

I remember this murder. I lived in the area where it occured and remember the abandoned car was found in the parking lot of the BPOE Elks Club on Montauk Highway in Southampton, N.Y. To this day I cannot pass that business without remembering the horror of that discovery.

Where Jill's bike was found was only 1 mile from Myer's house and he was arrested due to making incriminating statements to his grandmother and former girlfriend and others. ( it's said that lose lips, sink ships ).
His case was denied to be heard before the U.S. Supreme Court in 2019. He can not be *consider* for release until 2037!
