I love the chicken fabric you used in the towel. I may be showing my streak of wierd, but I kept laughing through this video imagining all of us as Marie's flock of chickens!
You're so welcome to Laura's. I've seen them made other ways, but they just seemed too difficult that way. I always have to change things around, haha.
I have used the gathering at the top of the towel before, it just depends on what I'm making and what look I'm going for. The ruffles definitely take more time.
good morning Marie ..perfect gift tis the season, lady;s in our family will be getting together for cookie baking no more running around looking for that misplaced kitchen towels .with these kitchen boa scarfs wrapped around our necks..will make baking more of a holiday treat...
Hey, Marie!! I have this same chicken fabric!! I am gonna make one of these lovely towel gifts for my sister in MN! She loves to cook like I love to sew!! ❤ She lives up in the crispy cold weather that you like! Lol
Hi Marie - Great tutorial on the kitchen towel scarf. The way you put it together makes it appear so much easier than if I would tried it without your help. You are an awesome teacher!
Hi Marie. I love this idea. I haven't seen it before. Now I have to make a few. I am gonna get some dollar tree towels and do this. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Marie. Thank you for the video. I’ve not come across a towel scarf before in England. I like to hang the kitchen towel over a rail, but my husband just leaves them lying around anywhere, so I often have to waste time looking for one when needed. This is such a useful idea.
I love the way you taught the exact way to simplify make this beautiful scarf. I will be making this beautiful scarf your way. Thank you so much much.❤❤❤❤❤
I make mine pretty much the same way, except I was gathering my towels. The folding does seem easier and looks a bit neater. I made some for a craft show in October and nearly sold out. Made more for another craft show a few weeks ago and nearly sold out then. People love these! And they will make great gifts!
Last year for Christmas, I made tons of towels for presents, lots of these plus some using pot holders to hang on cupboard knobs or on oven handles. On some, because of the printing, I had to gather the towels. The trick I came up with was zigzagging over a piece of cotton dish cloth yarn.
You are so welcome! It makes me happy to know that you found help in one of my videos. I hope you have a very happy holiday season and thank you so much for watching and commenting!
I love your technique of the Towel scarf. I had made one before, but it was a little more complicated, I will for sure use your instructions for the towel scarf. Hope I can catch tomorrow.
Hi Marie!! I love this towel scarf... And because it's an easy project.. I have someone in mind I'm going to whip up a few for. I hope you have a great week!!
Hi Marie! I love this towel tutorial, it’s easy enough since I’m a beginner. I’ll make it after I wash my 2 loads of towels I have waiting for me today…lol
Thanks Marie, you gave me a pattern for two easy Christmas friendship gifts. One is for an avid cook, and the other is for an avid baker! Oh, and I love the rick rack idea!! 😘 Your chicken "towel" is cute! XOXO
I love this project. I been thinking about making some of these too. I like your cat towel. I'm a cat lady, our cat's fur is protective covering for my furniture...lol
Thank you Marie! You are absolutely wonderful. You have made this neck towel so much easier than I would have tried to make it. I asked and you came through like you always do! You are certainly a blessing to have as a friend and wonderful teacher of the arts! May the Lord bless you! I am off to make these “correctly” for Christmas Gifts! Your tutorial was spectacular! Thank you so very much! Ly Glenda
You're so welcome, Glenda! I'm so glad that I was able to help you out. They will make wonderful gifts and I'm sure that you will have a fun time sewing them. Thank you so much for your sweet comment and you take care!
I’ve never made this neck “towel “ before. And it’s a good idea to make a nice “crisp” ironed edge also. When I get the rest of my drawstring bags and toppers finish I may give these a try. You continue to inspire me to keep at it!!!
@Marie’s Scrappy Creations have you thought about wrap around potholders ? You could use all kinds of scraps and make them colorful, add applique, or for those who can do some embroidery on them. They are great to pull out, casseroles or cookie sheets, of the oven and protect your arms.
@@dorisrussell4777 Actually I have. Great minds think alike, haha. I had just replied to someone else that I would like to do one of those tutorials, although it will probably be after the 1st of the year.
Marie, excellent tutorial, thank you for making it for us. How do you find they come out after the user washes it_. Is there better towels and worse towels as far as shrinking and warping and wrinkling goes_
Hi Kim! That's a very good question. I try to stay away from the towels from Dollar Tree and stores such as that. The big department stores such as Walmart, Target, etc, sell good quality towels for a reasonable price, in my opinion. They're less likely to shrink or warp out of shape. I hope this helps!
You make it look so easy Marie. I spray my fabric to keep it nice and crisp. Could I use fat quarters for it since don't think I have colored fabric. You make it look easy. Thank you I am one that had mentioned this a while back. I like the color towel you used. When you were pressing the long piece you said crisp was the word of the day and near the end you said towel was the word of the day. I am confused.
I guess I didn't realize that I did that with the word of the day... sorry about that. Either way will make it into the drawing. I will have to go back and listen to myself, haha. I'm glad you liked the way I did this and thanks for your idea!
Hi Dorris! First, I'd like to say that I love the spelling of your name! Secondly, the pins stay right in place perfectly. The only time they fall out is when I happen to bump the pincushion against something, such as the sewing table or something. A few might fall out that way, but otherwise, they stay right in place. Quite a few of my subscribers have made these and I haven't heard of anyone having an issue with that, either. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment and I hope you have a wonderful week! P.S. You might want to give this project a try, it's a very handy thing to have.
Hi! No, I didn't. I always pin and check both sides before sewing, because the fabric can definitely shift before it gets under the sewing foot. Sorry you had issues!
This is the best Boa TOWEL video on the internet!
You are so sweet, thank you! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Happy sewing!
I love the chicken fabric you used in the towel. I may be showing my streak of wierd, but I kept laughing through this video imagining all of us as Marie's flock of chickens!
Lol, That's cute. I didn't know I had a "flock", lol! Have a great day!
I love these tea towel scarfs!! Thanks for the great tips!
You are so welcome! Glad you like this project 🥰
These scarf towels are a perfect hostess gift☺️
That is a great idea! Yes, it would be a good host to skift. I'm glad I was able to help you out!
I’ve watched lots of kitchen towel boa videos and yours is the one I will make!
Awesome, thank you! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed this video!
Your towels are beautiful!!! This is the easiest way I’ve seen to make them. Thank you!!!
You're so welcome to Laura's. I've seen them made other ways, but they just seemed too difficult that way. I always have to change things around, haha.
I’ve not seen towel scarves. They are so cute! Bet they’d be fun with potholders on the end….another tutorial.
Thanks for sharing🐓💕
Yes I agree, pot holders on the end would be good. I actually have that tutorial on my to-do list.
Did you every do the video for potholder boa?
The towel will make a great gift for my grandson and his girlfriend. They cook together. I need to find a his and her towels. Thanks for the ideal.

Great idea with the Towel. love the videos you give us.
I'm glad you enjoyed this and the other videos, Linda!
Hi Marie,
I love your kitchen towel scarf. You put it together much easier than I do, with the gathering
👍
I have used the gathering at the top of the towel before, it just depends on what I'm making and what look I'm going for. The ruffles definitely take more time.
@@MariesScrappyCreations I don't like the gathering part 😀
Towel it’s very handy for guys while they BBQ. Love it!
That's a perfect idea!
good morning Marie ..perfect gift tis the season, lady;s in our family will be getting together for cookie baking no more running around looking for that misplaced kitchen towels .with these kitchen boa scarfs wrapped around our necks..will make baking more of a holiday treat...

Hey, Marie!! I have this same chicken fabric!! I am gonna make one of these lovely towel gifts for my sister in MN! She loves to cook like I love to sew!! ❤ She lives up in the crispy cold weather that you like! Lol
I just love that chicken fabric, haha! I'm glad I was able to help you with a gift idea! Yes, I love the cold weather!
I had never heard of a kitchen towel boa before. It makes sense as I run around the kitchen looking for a towel to wipe my hands
Yes, the towels would always be handy, no matter what you were doing
Very cute and would be a great gift for the cooks in our lives!
I'm glad you like the idea, Nancy!
Hi Marie - Great tutorial on the kitchen towel scarf. The way you put it together makes it appear so much easier than if I would tried it without your help. You are an awesome teacher!
This towel idea is great. Perfect for a hostess gift!
Yay, glad you liked it, Julie!
I'm glad you liked this, Marie. I have seen other methods of putting them together, but I didn't care for them done that way.
Another thing for the bucket list.
Thank you for this towel boa tutorial.
You're very welcome, Gundi. I'm glad you liked the project!
Hi Marie. I love this idea. I haven't seen it before. Now I have to make a few. I am gonna get some dollar tree towels and do this. Thanks for sharing.
You're so welcome! I know many people like these because they keep everything nearby. ✂️🧵🪡❤️

thank you, Kay! You're so sweet! I'm glad you liked this and you're entirely welcome!
I like how you made your towel scarf. I had made one several months ago but your method is much easier than what I did.
I've also seen them done with other methods, but they just didn't make sense to me done another way.
I love your towel scarf. I have been looking for something to make for gifts and I think this is it!
I'm so happy I was able to help you with a gift idea!
Hi Marie greetings from Melbourne. I love your scarf. I just bought some Christmas towels so will give it a go.
That sounds like a great way to use your new Christmas kitchen towels!
Good morning 😀 I love this towel project! I think I will give it a try and make one or two for myself.
That's great Sherry, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Yes, that is a great idea about zigzagging over cotton yarn. I've tried that a few times and it really makes it quicker, doesn't it?
You made that looks so simple and easy to do. Easy enough that I might get some done for Christmas. Thank you
I hope you are able to get some done for Christmas. Happy sewing!
This is a very cute towel. Something very easy to make for any occasion as a gift. Thanks Marie. Have a great day.
You're welcome Janet, I'm glad you liked it!

So many uses for kitchen towels! Personally, I use them to cover my mistakes! 😉

Your ironing board cover is not bad - mine is horrible
As much as I try to keep it clean, it always looks very yellow. I suppose it's from all the spray starch and sizing I use.
