It's a Bosch. I picked one up this morning at our local home center. I couldn't resist they had in on sale for $56. They had the CRS180B sawsall on sale for $56 too, again, I couldn't resist. I love Bosch tools. Earlier this week I ordered the 180 circular saw from Amazon for $99, it too was on sale at my local home center for $56, darn; oh well, $99 is a fair price too. Next I want the multi-tool. I do tenant repairs for a property management company, I'd like to be completely cordless by the end of the year. Nice review, that I watch after I bought the tool; something I never do. But it's a Bosh tool.
Their corded models have long been this most durable ones on the market , but I have gone with the Porter Cable and Makita battery platforms with my nail guns and drills so I went with the PC for the cordless jigsaw !
I had a few problems with them. But I’ll give Bosch the benefit of the doubt because they were school tools. No idea how many 200 pound gorilla high schoolers were beating on them. The only thing that wasn’t working through was the blade change mechanism. They had some odd screw cap thing. You pulled up on it and twisted it a couple times to release the blade and then did the opposite to tighten the blades. Very odd setup. Because of it I stuck to the Dewalt jigsaw with the Allen screw blade clamp.
Just got mine yesterday its a bday Present which im very excited about 😄 What he forgot to say is that you can use the batery from bosh drill so you don't need to buy the jigsaw with batery which will save you about £40 - £50 👌
Great review. I was loading up my truck today and noticed the shoe on my jigsaw (the same large corded one you have) is bent and cracked. So when I asked RUclips your vid was the first to come up. $136 on amazon bare tool. Not bad at all.
What models are the corded ones you have? The JSH180 does not have a dual guide like the top of the line Bosch JS572EL does it? Also, is the JSH120 the barrel grip equivalent to the JSH180?
Those Barrel grip jigsaws are awesome, but they are expensive. Have you had a chance to try the Ryobi cordless jigsaw? Its surprisingly good. Not the degree of the barrel jigsaws, but good especially considering the price.
Hi i'm just wandering because the battery sits behind the footplate if you used a big battery like a 5ah wireless battery would it make the unit back heavy and maybe tippy towards the back ? thanks
Hi friend, I purchased a Dewalt DW 300 Jigsaw, but it only cut vertically straight if I use a guide, but without these guide I get a totally distorted cut in both ways. I trace a line as a guide for the cut, but when I'm cutting, the jigsaw begins to walk out of the guide, is terrible, yuou need to apply excesive force to maintain the direction of the jigsaw. I want to buy this jigsaw JSH 180 but I have fear about this details, I see in your video you cut straight and fast. !!! I don't know what to do! GREAT VIDEO!
Hi , bought the same battery operated Bosch jig saw. Hardly used it over 4 years. About 10th time used It now stops mid cut, remove battery then off it goes only to stop again 100mm later! Took in for repairs and they want 70 percent of new cost to repair electronic unit. VERY DISAPPOINTED :( as is almost new. Going to try another brand next as too many issues with my Bosch machines lately
Step up from old corded Craftsman. I agree about the blades, don't go cheap. Get the swiss made Bosch or any swiss blades This thing gives you incredible control.
*I've had some time🌗 **allabout.wiki/Bosch-120** to get used to using the saw now and I think its a good one. It feels very solid and well made - great Bosch quality. I like the settings it has for the eliptical blade movement and blowing dust out of the blade path. The quick blade change lever is easy to use but wont be accidentally bumped. I feel that this is a tool that will last me many years. I was considering the next model up to get the additional blade stabilization, but I think most of the blade flex happens below the foot of the saw anyway were there cant be any support. I think usage technique can make up for most blade flex and you also have to realize that this is a fact of life with a jigsaw and use it accordingly.*
Bought it a few months ago and couldn't be happier.
Opening clip convinced me I need this
Just purchased this Jigsaw today. Made in Switzerland. Love it!

Nice review John. I have never heard anyone say they did not like the
Bosch jigsaws.

Great review. I just purchased a mew Bosch drill and driver set and will get this next. You covered everything I was wondering about. Thanks.

I really didn't want to spend 150$ on a jigsaw but now I'm one step closer to do that. :)
thank you! the only really useful review of this jigsaw that I could find.
I really want one now. :)
Take a look at ' oz tools ' channel. Good review on the 18v jigsaw on there too
One more trip to Lowe's.
Excellent reviww. I wonder how it would compare to the Ridgid jigsaw......

@5:35 talks about allen wrench storage
@5:51 dumps allen wrench on table insead of putting it back in storage
Excellent review, I've just bought this jigsaw.
I wished they designed it to stand on it's battery. That would make it much nicer when setting it down and picking it up.

excellent review john thank you for your opinion on this model

I see your using of the market battery, are they any good
Could you do an update on these jigsaws now its been a good number of years use with them.
We have done that when the Milwaukee Fuel and new Dewalt jug saws came out. Search that on our channel.
Please show me how to install blade cordless Bosch JSH180 - mine doesn't have that red piece that came down on yours
Excellent presentation and review, subbed and I'm convinced to grab one!

well done bro! HGTV should definitely consider hiring you hosting a tool review show:) Keep it up!
My larger battery keeps slipping enough to stop the saw. Is this common. Does not happen with the slim pack batteries.
Will the collins coping foot fit?
Hey buddy, which battery do you use? Is it the same as the drills and the cordlees wrenches?
Hi friend, do you think JSH180 is better than Dewalt DCS334B?
Nice review
Well done, all the convincing I needed to st

OK, you convince me, I just order one today (July 06, 2017) :-)
There is no other jig saw to use!
+James Stanlake I agree.
How it works with wood lumbers? 4x4x 6x6 ??
It no work with wood lumbers especially 4x4 and 6x6.
@@WorkshopAddict Can you do a test with the T1044DP blade? or the T344DP? I want to know if it is capable to cut it...
Excellent review. I'm subscribed!
Great review!!!!
can it saw 3 inches thick wood?
With the right blade, yes. The blade will most likely wander a bit on turns.
@@WorkshopAddict okey thanks
are all bosch 18v compatable with this jigsaw? like the 18v 2.0 of the professional drill?
@@manzerasobrado6045 yes
Jsh180 vs gst 18v li?
