I appreciate you. Growing up without a father can be tough, not being able to learn these kind of things. You teach me things I feel like I should have learned 20 years ago
Now this is a proper "How To" video. Straight to the point, no frills and jargon. Very informative and useful for someone like me who bought my first jigsaw yesterday and not knowing the first thing about using it. All I know is, it can cut wood in curves. Well done and thanks for sharing.
Being a 71 year old woman, I was never really taught how to use a lot of wood working tools. I have learned some things along the way and enjoy working with wood. My husband passed in 2015 and he had a LOT of tools. I kept most all of them and have since learned how to use most of them. I have recently demoed a shed that was overrun by bees and critter shinanigans. You're tool instruction videos have helped me in learning how to use my tools properly, to demo and down the shed. I even used a come along to topple it over, once I eliminated the 2 long walls; leaving only the 2 X 4 frame. It is so satisfying to be able to use the tools I have, with confidence and safety to finish this huge project. Thank you for your channel! I'll be watching more of them, I'm sure!
Thank you for commenting and sharing a small piece of your life with me. I'm happy that my content is helping. Be sure to comment on other videos if you have questions... the more the better. :)
What a beautiful comment and I second the sentiment. I'm nearly 60, have had a jigsaw for a while but scared to try it out. I will now though as I've a couple of projects for it. I'm not demolishing anything, I'll leave that to you professionals, but it is exciting to look forward to doing another job correctly. Thank you and I'll keep watching now I've found you.
On point, no jibber-jabber, straight instruction, clear examples and advice. Great job! Thank you for taking time out your busy day to share your skill and knowledge. God Bless. 🙏🏽
I have a 1983 Sears-Craftsman Jigsaw that has a cool feature: You can turn the blade while you’re cutting for easy scroll cuts. The blade turning separately from the saw is also awesome as you don’t have to turn the entire saw. (Model 315.10723)
I already knew a lot about the jigsaw, but I needed to brush up on my knowledge of it because it'd been years since I'd touched one. This video was perfect and was exactly what I was looking for. Straight to the point, extremely informative, and the man teaching the basics had a way of keeping your attention with his confidence in the tool. Thank you!
This is one of the BEST tool videos EVER. The content was perfect for me (about to use a jigsaw for the first time), his voice is very clear, the filming is spot on. THANK YOU.
Thank you for the simple tutorial and warnings! LOL Though I had experience in a school workshop many years ago and have watch others use power tools, I have decided now is the time to invest in my own. I am a Grandma with a young Grandson who does not have a male figure in his life. I have a great desire to teach him as many life skills as I can. My Dad would be so proud! Last year we took up fishing, this year we are building some small projects! A refresher before I plug these things in is super great. Safety glasses...think ahead...Check:)
May not have a father figure but he has one hell of a grandmother figure ! You are given your grandson what money can't but.. the love of family. He will do well in life.
good luck with everything. Kids need occupying in their formative years wether its taking up a sport (my 3 were, and still are into football and boxing) or learning how to work with their hands. Iwish you all the best from England
At first I was like go on then i've used a jigsaw all my life but I might learn something and I did! choosing the right blade is very important I never thought about it before. Thank you.
New to wood working/ carpentry, Im purely self taught and need all the info I can soak in. I was given an older Porter Cable and know nothing about using it. Your video gave me exactly the info and instruction I needed. Thank you for your time and dedication to being thorough!
Thank you, sir. Thank you very much. I need to cut a vent hole on a plywood, for my floor AC. The guy I so politely requested to help me out with this hasn’t responded. Well then, I shall have to do it myself! It is good to be self- reliant, but be sure you know what you’re doing, and be safety conscious. I am no stranger to small power tools ( I have a small cordless miter saw and small cordless circular saw from Ryobi, and of course, have the power screw/impact driver). But my experience is very limited. So I always check in on available training or refresher courses. So, after this video I’ll get me a jigsaw and get on with my tiny project. Thank you, again!
This is a great, straight forward, easy to understand video. Thank you very much. I totally agree with all of the positive comments you have received so far.
Taking up DIY and woodworking as an old(-ish?) lady is a blast but so many questions and so much to learn. I’ve been watching a fair amount of intro/beginner videos and this is perfect. Plenty of information but clearly and succinctly explained. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment. I'm launching an online woodworking community for beginners, and I’d love for you to be part of it! It’s a fantastic space to ask questions, share your projects, and receive personalized guidance from me. www.skool.com/traininghandsacademy/about
The setting on the side of the saw isn't controlling the reciprocating of the blade. It is controlling the "orbital action." The up and down motion of the blade is already a reciprocating motion.
I just retired my Craftsmen Jigsaw of 21yrs. Just purchased a Bosch SH365 on sale at Lowes for $96. What a deal. I love my jigsaw and have done some unbelievable projects with it.
Thank you for this. I am a 55-year-old woman who finds navigating these tools very hard. I just brought a jigsaw and messed up 2 tables by mistake. These are very good tips.
That Bosch was my first jigsaw. I learned to cut scribe lines with it when I was fitting and making bedroom wardrobes. It was a great jigsaw. Mine unfortunately got stolen when my van got broken into. Great video.👍🏻
I just bought my first jigsaw!!! Congratulations to me , right. Lol I will be watching a lot more videos. I bought this to make my rescues (cats) homes and maybe get good enough to make a cat tree. I have also a circular saw , which I will probably use too. THANKYOU for the video. It helped me know more about what I can do with it. Peace ☮️

I want to start doing some wood project and I was lucky that, I got to watch your video. Good Information provided and now your my Favorite. Thank you and God Bless you and your Family.
Awesome, I look forward to hearing from you more on other videos. I do want to let you know that I'm starting an online community for woodworking soon. You can join and share photos and videos with me. Again, I don't have it fully up and running yet, but you are able to join and share with me now.
Starting from scratch. Building up a pretty nice tool inventory. I should have everything ready to go by August. Ill be practicing and studying till then. Glad I found this. You picked up a fan here. You obviously really want to teach. Well I'm here to learn. Thanks for your effort and time.

A great video! I’m just upgrading my arsenal of tools to this Bosch jigsaw you’re showing here. For the money I only spent on my old one, I can say it’s earned it’s retirement.
I hated clicking on the play button because I expected a horrible intro and worthless material, but you proved me wrong. Thank you, so very much for the concise and informative video!

Exactly , I watched a video that’s half an hour long and was way less informative than this
