Hi sorry for the late response, I didn’t get any notifications… I would only replace it with genuine infotainment, just like I have, I upgraded to discover media pro 9.2inch, but did it with a vw engineer. It’s not cheap either but it was totally worth it.
Sorry I missed your message! It was lagging from day one unfortunately. It doesn't disconnect as much though, I noticed when used for long drives, 2+ hours, it completely freezes and switching on and off doesn't fix it. It might be my disco pro at fault as it was retrofitted.
I have a Volkswagen T-Roc 2019, and it didn’t work for me. Do you know if it works with cars with this message on App Connect “you can activate the function by means of an activation key. Please contact your dealer.’’ ? Thank you
Hi Karim, Thanks for your question. I’m afraid this won’t work for you until you unlock Apple CarPlay in your infotainment. Basically it should first work with a cable and all this will do is make it wireless.
The only thing that’s bugging me is the lag when it starts up. Most times I’m ready to leave in 10 seconds, but I have to wait another 20 seconds until the map comes up. Sometimes CarPlay won’t start but neither would directly with a cable and that’s due to me having a retrofitted infotainment from 2021 in a 2015 car. Basically I can’t blame the gadget for the faults I have.
Yes you do. Should already work with a cable and all this does is that it makes it wireless. If you can’t activate app connect try looking into an AI box.
This is a general comment about these videos. Why do you and others waste my time by showing how you opened the shipping pouch, cut off the plastic wrap, etc? In the future, please don’t waste our time - just include the important details. Your video would be half as long and viewers would be much happier.

Last thing I want is to waste your precious time so here’s a few ways you can avoid this: - Drag the slider in the video to the desired point - Expand the description panel and click on the desired chapter - Double tap with two fingers on the right side of the screen as you watch the video and it will skip to the next chapter All the above will get you passed the boring unboxing part. You can also ignore future videos titled unboxing all together and find those videos with “important details”. All the best Tom 👍🏼

I have it and i am using it with my discovery pro 9.2 and it lags and disconnects a lot.
