- A routine visit to The Dino Institute museum is interrupted by a mischievous scientist with a secret mission. The scientist recruits you to travel back to the Cretaceous era, 65 million years ago, to capture a mild-mannered Iguanodon and return to the present day with the 3.5-ton dinosaur in tow.

Mind you, there probably is no visual recording device on the Rovers for the scientist to use-radar and audio communication only to prevent signal overload. Good point though.

There is probably no visual cameras
Well, it’s dark, and it’s hard to see, and it’s like he has night vision. Even scientists need technology to help them for exploration. Even though I’m going to be a biochemist, I know what it takes to be a scientist. (Also, I’m a science nerd).
Remember when I was a child, my parents and I rode this. My parents thought it was different than what they expected it to be. The end result was me crying and screaming my head off. They regretted it right after we got off. However, since I am older I wouldn't mind it much.
Do you know how old you're making me feel. lol The last time I went was at the Anaheim Park and the newest ride was Star Tours (1987) and I was 37. Like they say,"Kids of all ages."
I went on this when I was like 4, and cried and reamed my head off, until my parents had to go to the gift-shop and buy me something. Lol, memories

Faith Yanez Oh. I am disappoint. It happened to me, but I was underneath the final pop-out before going back to present-day. I had a Dino in my face with lights on, for about 5 minutes. It was pretty funny, and my sister joked about converting to cannibalism.

I love how the rides in Disney and Universal tell a story and each ride has a different story to go along with it. That’s what makes it best for me. I didn’t just enjoy the ride, I enjoyed the story that went with it.

Most terrifying ride at Disney...
For me the most terrifying rides at Disney World is Space Mountain and TOT. I've never been on them but I almost did on a dare! 😂😢
I remember when this ride was called "Count Down To Extinction" I was around five and was petrified after it. I went back on this ride this year thinking I was braver this time around.... I WAS WROOOOONG!

If my memory serves me correctly, it's the same musty smell from Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland.
That's because dinosaur and Indiana jones are the same style of ride. So that super memorable smell is present in both rides

Ashley Felix i think it might be the fake smoke? (or something like it) i know i did elementary school bus safety training, and they used fake smoke for practice, and it smelled like that (also smells like maple syrup imo) (i'm canadian, and that is the most canadian thing ever wow)
It had been nearly 14 years since I rode this for the first time. We rode it again last week and the first thing I said to my sister was that the smell in the loading room triggered me having that same anticipation for this ride as I did as a 10 year old. It's an odd smell but I'm happy it brought back that feeling again!

I just rode this on Sunday and this is a very underrated ride. After 4:31 I said "That's what they all say. What could possibly go wrong?" Near by guests within ear shot of me started cracking up and smiled.

My little brother refused to go on this ride when he was 8..this ride is really for older kids because its too scary and rough for little kids..even tho the movie its based off was for young kids..and the outside of the ride/qeue look very kid friendly.

vianjelos Really. With Dinosaurs that we’re shown getting eaten in the movie I wouldn’t say it’s more kid friendly than the ride. Both are pretty gruesome but I like both the movie and the ride. 😊👍

You should really go!! It's so amazing! I went my first time about 3 months ago & my favorite park would have to be Animal kingdom with magic kingdom in a close 2nd but I loved Hollywood studios too because there's so many shows & characters & UGGH it's really hard to choose my favorite. Epcot is amazing too because you can talk to people from all these different countries & you can shop, eat & even ride from different countries as well. So many things to do that you would probably need a month to get through all the things. From all the characters to the shows & fireworks to the incredibly awesome themed rides & hotel. It's just truly magical.

Magic kingdom: Space mountain
Hollywood Studios: Tower of Terror
Epcot: Soarin.
When or if you ever go, you should defiantly check out those rides! So much fun!!

Orionna Bean, if you haven’t been in the two years since posting, you need to as soon as possible.
Disney World is so much better in person than you can ever see in these videos. The rides themselves are amazing, but the stuff in between is just as good - the theming and thought that has gone into everything(the rides, the shows, the lands, the paths, the restaurants, the hotels, the transportation between parks, etc - it doesn’t just end in the park, as long as you’re in Disney owned land, you are in one long amazing experience).
There is of course so much to do - we only ever needed to leave the resort to go to WalMart, which is only ten minutes away.
And of course the customer service is amazing. Everyone is so helpful, and the cast members go out of their way to help, and they are so accommodating to any requests in restaurants, etc.
Just go, if you haven’t already; it’s a lot of money, but it’s so worth it.

but just be warned wait times can change and there is a whole whole bunch of walking involved so feet hurting and blisters for days

Still remember to this day when I went to Disney for the first time with the family and it started raining. This ride (it being an indoor attraction) was still open so my grandmother thought, “dinosaurs? Cool Il get on,” ANNNND there was that LOL I died of laughter on the ride just because it was too extreme for my grandmother 😂 Thankfully everything was good though. Other than that this ride is AMAZING! Loved it

The first time on this ride, I was with friends and it was the last ride we could ride because we had to meet with our other group in 20 minutes. And I was so scared and was curled in my friends lap and once we got to the big dinosaur the ride broke down. We had to sit in front of the big thing for 30 minutes with no wifi or anything. It was probably the most scariest moment of my life
When the red Dino roared near the car I was so close to it my scream was louder that it's roar
I loved it, my 9 year old was terrified, my 12 year old had a blast. Dark, bumpy, loud, and stuff pops out at you.
Just went on this ride yesterday and I loved it! I prefer this over "Jurassic Park" in Universal Studios for sure.
I must admit, though, as I was walking through the queue, and sitting down in my seat, I was so nervous. My heart rate was around 130 when they were showing the inital video greeting (Resting heart rate for me is around 60-70)
For some odd reason, once I actually got on the ride and it started moving, I felt a bit better!
I'm very sensitive to drops and such on ANY thrill ride, but I like excitement. DINOSAUR was just enough thrill without scarring me. If you regularly go on thrill rides, DINOSAUR should be a piece of cake. Although, if you have back, shoulder, or neck issues, be sure to be careful or avoid this ride altogether.

Hated that ride. Went on it during my first trip to WDW and kept my head down the whole time (I am a TOTAL wimp) and didn't go on it during my most recent trip a few months ago.
The only part I saw was the dinosaur eating the smaller one. I was young, it scared the crap out of me.

I went to Disney in 2000, I was 4 and I refused to get on this ride. In 2010 we went again and since I was older I decided to be brave and get on. Once the ride started I was fine, then I saw the first dinosaur and kept my eyes shut and my face was buried in my moms arm. I was so scared. Why does Disney need to made them so life like and scary. I'm 19 now and am still afraid. I have no shame.

Me and my Bff rode this together a few months ago (were 15). We ended up huddled together crouched down while my dad tried to comfort her sister who has down syndrome. It was an awful ride choice for all of us. It's my least favorite ride in all of the parks.

+Noelle Morgan I think the best one is the Jurassic Park ride at universal. I rode it and it's awesome, more so I think. :D
Mostly because River Adventure had more feel to the setting, instead of having to rush the whole way like in this one. River Adventure, actually let you see the dinosaurs much longer. (That's my opinion though c;)
lol dont even compare that to this, jurassic park is a slow water ride with a big drop and this is a fast moving indoor ride
Barrel Racing Passion, they are very different rides, so are hard to compare, but if I had to compare, I’d choose this over Jurassic Park at Universal. I think the theming and storyline at Universal is loads worse than this, and in this you get a constant thrill from close up animatronics and speed in the dark(which more people like and can go on), rather than one big drop(as many dislike large drops).

Mr. Creatinator that’s what it reminded me of from this video. I’ve never been on this but will go one day! I LOVE Indiana Jones ride. Does this one have a drop?

TY, I kept thinking, whoa I know that guy...from CSI...couldnt think of name...I recogd his voice before I recogd his face, he mustve done this before CSI, he looked way younger here.
Wow. I am completely out of the loop. I haven't seen him in anything since Veronica's Closet.
So glad this ride based on a movie that is sadly underrated still exists
