- [4K] Thrilling Dinosaurs Dark Ride in Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Did you know this Dinosaur attraction has almost the same track layout as Indiana Jones Ride at Disneyland?
"Board a rugged Time Rover vehicle and set off on a thrilling adventure through a primeval forest filled with life-like dinosaurs." - Walt Disney Website
Ride filmed August 2020 at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World Florida.
This ride is SUPER LOUD. The loudness makes it more scarier than it actually is. Oh and that one dino who looks like it was walking towards you is a no 😱
Bro I covered my ears the entire time, and when the Dino started walking toward us I screamed like a little girl.
I found this ride absolutely terrifying as a 5 year old
And I don’t care I love it
I have no clue how my drums haven’t popped already
@Beast Coasters definitely do that next time
This ride looks SO MUCH better! All props, lights, and effects look fixed. New things like screens and the metal doors before time travel make the ride a little bit better.
the metal doors have always been there. occasionally they break, and are left in the open position if that's what you're referring too.
This is a dreadful ride. The ride vehicles and concept seem cool but the reality of it is not so great. It looks relatively tame in the video but It jerks you around on a zig zag course and is deafeningly loud. Its like they knew the ride was lame rubber dinosaurs so they just kept dialing up the volume and dialing up the jerking motions on the cars.
@@guidedmeditation2396 This is my favorite ride! It is a thrill ride after all, so of course it's rough and wild. The dinosaurs are quite intimidating in person. The ride holds up very well in my, and many many others' opinions.
The best part of the ride is the jerking! It’s soooooo much fun! The Tower Of Terror May be more intense though. I don’t know yet. I haven’t been on TOT
@@domomess4719 I agree
Lol this is the exact lay out of Indiana Jones at Disneyland. I never been on this ride, but I was able to call out all the turns, because it's the same ride, just slower and a different theme.
Like this scene for examples 1:02, that’s the part when you go through The door into mara’s room
The part with the three doors
@@wombo8604 Yes, but those three doors are in a rotating room. The magic is done by rotating the doors... the track stays the same. I been on it so much when the room/doors weren't working, and you just go through the middle door.
I wish they would turn this into the Indiana Jones ride!! I miss it so much from Disneyland.
I think they could have done a better job with the theme personally indy is way more detailed. The bridge alone sets it apart.
I’ve never noticed the astroid part. Probably because I was always closing my eyes and covering my ears because even as an adult this ride still scares the crap out of me. 😂
I rode this ride my last Disney world trip & I was nervous, I was like 19 then & now 26. I asked a cast member that was outside the ride if it was scary and said no and asked a second cm the same question and they said no unless you don’t like dinosaurs. I decided to go on it and as soon as the car started moving I covered my ears and closed my eyes for the entire ride. And the movement of car in track was so rough, my back was sore after.
I cried on this ride when I was 6
I was so so scared 😱 when I rode this ride lol my dad had to hold his hands on my Eyes
Same I was scared to I Went on that ride one time never went back on it again
I was scared when I was like six. I looked down the stairs and said nope I ain’t doing this😂
Most underrated ride at Disney World
True
this traumatized me as a child and i still get so uneasy from the ptsd when i’m on this 😂
It’s at animal kingdom right?
Tyler yes
Tyler it’s at Dino land USA
You have the only videos of this ride on RUclips where you can actually see everything.
@Zak I was referring to his use of a low light camera.
This is one of the coolest rides, the air conditioner in it makes it really good to ride even if you feel like your organs are moving inside of you because of how much the car shakes. And the sound and light effects are also pretty cool, wow i miss this park🥺
You've never been to this park.
I went about two months ago and I rode it twice just to feel the AC haha.
As a 24 year old paleontologist, this is the best thing I’ve seen
I’m a paleontologist to and this cool I miss this park
You are lucky to be paleontologist
It takes anywhere between 6-10 years to become a paleontologist. So you were going to college at age 14?
@@Harley1993 if it takes 6 -10 years, maybe he graduated at 17. Don’t judge because he may be smarter than you🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Harley1993 in some countries you start the university earlier :)
I could smell this through my screen
The fog smell?
Ahh yes, the smell of burnt steak
that Ride smell that every ride has? lmao. Smells like hydraulics
Omg this ride is the best. I would take a 30 second inhale because the fog smell is so good.
@@MalonzeProductionsGaming Hopefully not, haha, if you smell hydraulic fluid then the ride is broken or about to be, haha. Indiana jones in CA is the only version of this simulator car ride from Disney that uses hydraulic motion control, all the others in Disney parks use electric motors and rams to move things. Mostly because it can cause huge downtime if one of the cars has an oil spill from a leak that takes about 2 hours to clean on the track and car, and repair. Probably more info than you ever wanted to know. haha.
Ok I’ve lived this ride since I was a kid but the ending...
“We’re not gonna make it!”
“We made it! I knew you would!”
bruh
“And guess who made it back with you?”
@@disneyparksstarwarslover7638 I wish I could go in person 😂😂
Lmao
I better find him before security does

man i remember going on this ride when i was little and i came out crying LMAO
Me too, I cried with the Carnotaurus, it scared me
LMAO Mood. Now it's my fav tho
Sameee 🥲
I’m glad I’m not the only one 😭 when I went when I was a kid, there was somehow no line for this ride and my mom made me go on it like 4 times. I’m still traumatized after looking at this video 😂
I was clawing at my seat belt and knocked my brother out of the way to get off
Imagine how scary it would be to be stuck in a dark ride like this throughout the night with the mechanics all on 😯
Very, I would say. Or were you being rhetorical?
actually someone on here was on the ride and it broke down with all of the lights on. the carnotaurus was in its idle position with its head sticking out of the wall and it was eerie as hell
that happened to me once when I was very little. it was like right toward the end. everything shut down. my little brother was freaking out
Man, I hope they never get rid of this ride. One of the best designed, immersive tracks at Disney parks.
Just learned that it’s leaving next year for zootopia and Moana 😢
@@mickle_. i read dinoland is getting replaced so does that mean the entire ride as well?
@@kyle21843 I’m pretty sure yeah
@@mickle_. are you fucking kidding me
@@lbj2320 sadly no 😔
This ride is actually deceptively scary. Especially when I was younger. Just the darkness and the Carnitor chasing you.
Imagine seeker in his office awkwardly yelling while everyone is questioning why seeker’s yelling at his pc
Yihyo drug tugging to her body in a ponytail pwith gujy
i still remember riding this ride as a young one, my eyes were closed half the time and being whipped around in the car, i was scared terribly lol but i loved it! now im older and keep my eyes open for the animatronics and light work
I remember my first time I cried. Now that I’m older I LOVE this ride. It’s so much fun!! The dinosaurs look so real too.😂
I'm glad that theh brought back the sounds of the Carnotaurus chasing you at 3:15. I remember they removed it a long while ago. I like it, it makes the ride scarier and only adds to my favorite or second favorite ride in Animal Kingdom.
It was MUCH more intense when it first opened, but they toned it down to make it more family friendly.
Really? What did they do?
I want to know how this is toned down
@@blondeballer19 The ride basically stopped the car and the AI issued a warning: large carnotaur detected and the scientist was freaking out about how our car was stopped and we needed to get out of there. Strobe lights were flashing and the carnotaur's head peaks out and inches closer and closer to the car and at the last minute the car starts working and we zoom out of there.
I was 12 when I rode it the first time back in 2004. I still have the souvenir photo (they took it while the car was stopped) and everyone in the car was cowering in fear. It was so intense. I say everyone, but the reason we bought the photo is because in a car with 12 people all showing varying signs of fear my father was the ONLY person smiling and genuinely looking unphased by the ride.
@@shadowburn1591 I answered :)
I rode it for the first time in 2000. I was expecting a kid friendly ride like Nemo. I was blown away by how intense it was. We were all shocked there wasn’t a posted warning for people with young kids. I rode it again recently and aside from the differences already mentioned in the comments it’s also not nearly as LOUD as it used to be. The Dinosaur roars were so loud it felt/sounded like they were inches from your face. It was frightening for several adults in our group. Now the volume isn’t even close to what it was before.
“WE’RE NOT GONNA MAKE IT.. WE’RE BIT GONNA MAKE IT THROUGH-“
**makes it**
“I knew you would make it!”
i miss disney i haven’t been since quarantine started :( it’s my only escape and happy place and where i had happy memories as a child
Me too :/
If they remove this ride I'm going to miss it so much! Since I was a kid this was always one of the most fun and exhilarating rides for me!
It’s very rough ride
HELLO〜 I love You & I like it
When I was 6, I started crying when the Carnotaurus came out
Scared the bones out of us the first time ride.
@@diegofavaratozfilms962 Im 23 and most probably would cry seeing that lol
Yees it is
It is really amazing how this is Indiana Jones at Disneyland. Even the animatronics are hooked up at the same spot.
I remember going on this ride 7 times when I was 7 years old. It’s my number one favorite in Animal Kingdom😸
Thanks for sharing! I have ridden this ride 40 times and this is the first time I have actually seen it. 😂 I can quote the ride word for word, but I close my eyes every time 😂😂😂
My mom took me on this ride when I was around eight or nine. I'm pretty sure I had a panic attack, and I was nearly inconsolable after it was over. I hated the noise, the darkness, the countdown timer- pretty much everything about it. Needless to say, it was pretty traumatic. My parents thought it would be fun because I used to love Dinosaur Train-
I went on this ride when I was 15 and was traumatized💀
When I tell you that this was the scariest ride ever when I was a little kid, I’m not even joking. Swear to God, that Carno at the end was going to eat me.
This ride is so underrated, because it is absolutely fast paced, loud, and breathtakingly thrilling. Part of the terror is that all of this is happening at night, so you can barely see when you’re being attacked by a Carnotaurus.
First time I went on this ride I was 5. I cried lol. Now I’m 25 and I still hear about it every time we go to Disney
Amusement part always gives me this giddy feeling and has for years. I feel like a little kid again. The only other thing that can do this for me is music. You know bands like Delta Parole, that music takes me back the most.
I hope they never get rid of this ride. It's my favorite.
Just rode this ride today; and it instantly became one of my favorite rides at Disney. It’s much faster and rougher than it looks in the video, but it’s so much fun. I’m glad I got to ride it before it closed
I love how the ride is like a countdown so it gets your adrenaline rushing and you feel rushed
This was the first time I actually saw this ride-after riding it 50 times as a kid with my eyes closed. This was the scariest ride at Disney!
Pretty sure this is the exact ride I went on back in either 2003 or 2005 when I went to the US. I went to the US both of those years but only went to Epcot once. Brings back childhood memories. I would have been 8-10 years old and I’m now 25. Not been to the US since and would like to go again.

This is legit my favorite Disney World
I’ve always L🦖VED this ride !!
I absolutely love this ride!
I'm happy you're still able to go despite this stupid virus
I just rode this an hour ago, I had my eyes closed. So this was a great way to see the ride. Lol
Woah no ride vehicles at 4:19 ... that shows you that they’re running this ride at such a low capacity, crazy
Amazing this attraction ! Thanks for your sharing
This ride is one of my favourites ❤ Thank you
This attraction's path looks so similar to the Indiana Jones in Tokyo Disney Sea. Great!!
I totally recommend this ride,is just amazing
Underrated and a lot of fun! Seems a bit more dark 'in real life' than the video also. Great video as always by SoCal Attractions 360!
god this ride is so fun for no reason. I went to disney for a choir competition and my group and I rode this like 8 times in a row bc no one was in line for it
The ride smells fantastic! Takes me back to this ride!
Literally love this ride!!! ❤
One of the best Darkrides ever
I literally rode this for the first time and my life back in December 2020. I’ve been going to Disney almost every year since 5 years old. I was baffled that I skipped over this ride for all those years.🤦🏾♀️
I remember riding this my mom said she lost her favorite glasses on this ride but it was actually fun I got to say this is one of the most funnest rides in animal Kingdom
I can’t wait to go back in may !! This is my favorite ride !!
this is by far my favorite ride at disney world. i’ve only been there once and this was the one ride that i went on multiple times. next time i go this will be the first ride i go on!!
Honestly this is slept on
this ride was one of the ones that made me cover my eyes and cower in fear when I was young.
I still do
This ride used to be so much more thrilling. They've watered it down so much over the years. Sad.
Ya I remember it used to be a lot scarier and more fun
It was, thank the lord I actually rode it only last year, or I wouldve died XD
Right, I remember being 26 and closing my eyes because of sheer fright
Michelle Miguel DJ I’m 21 and a few years back and I rode in the front and was sitting next to some random people. Next thing I knew I was hiding in their lap closing my eyes because I was so scared. My family was sitting behind me and were giggling when they saw me at the end, still hiding in their lap. (Note: I wear glasses and had to take them off for the ride, so while all this was happening everything was blurry and unclear which made it even more scary to me. It was first time riding in the front seat but not my first time riding the ride. 😅)
there used to be a hugeee t rex at the end
One of my fave rides at Disney
I'll always remember this ride as "Countdown to Extinction". But this still looks like such a cool ride, even though I never rode it.
One of the BEST rides ever
My favorite ride at animal kingdom for sure
Best dark ride in the world amirite? Great ride
Miss this ride!!!
Great video! One of my favorite rides!
I remember getting on this ride with my mom, and we went through it and, it was amazing!!! But when we came across the main Carnotaur (The one who goes Ror, Ror, before you move and find the dinosaur your supposed to be looking for), I ducked my head, cuz I was a scaredy boi, but now I'm chicken for Coasters, but I might conquer my bucket of chicken and get on those rides the next time I get a chance!!
#Don'tGiveUpOn2020
#StaySafe
i’m a chicken with coasters too! i can’t even ride seven dwarfs mine train or anything like that (other than thunder mountain which i love because it has no drops). i went on this dinosaur ride and it doesn’t scare me too much other than the dinosaurs being really close up. the ride is REALLY bumpy, but no drops. it feels nothing like a rollercoaster and you’re on flat ground the whole time. i recommend that you ride it, makes you remember how it was when you were a kid haha.
btw, disney is actually pretty safe during this pandemic. they don’t let you walk around without a mask, but only in restaurants where they separate tables between groups. you’re always 6 feet apart from people and following all the covid guidelines. they clean ride seats every time one group gets off, so they can get it ready for the next. and the lines are always sooo short. longest one i did was mickey and minnie’s runaway railway in hollywood studios, which said 30 minutes, but it really felt like 20. only thing that kind of sucks is that they stop in line cut scenes so that people don’t stay in large groups. like in the haunted mansion when the room stretches, they don’t do that little mini show and you just walk through.
what makes it scary is how big it is. apparently it's head is bigger than an imagineer's body!
I've been scared of this ride for ages, but now it actually looks awesome!
It’s really fun!!
Man you must really visit the Phantasialand in Germany - Beuatiful themes/areas, recordbreaking roller coasters (look for Taron) and they just opened a new theme world with the first Flying Launch Coaster F.L.Y. !
Back in 2010 I was on "Manta" in Seaworld and since then, flying coasters are my favorite!
This is the BEST CAMERA FOR THIS RIDE EVER!!!!!!
I wonder if they'll have a Gigantosaurus ride at Animal Kingdom one day. I would be completely thrilled with that.
I remember when I first got on this ride. I was 13, I accidentally held up the line because I was too distracted by the beautiful murals on the wall and everybody behind me was just, "let her have her magical moment" and once I realized that everybody behind me was waiting I booked it. I didn't know why I was expecting on the ride but I was definitely not expecting the giant carnotaur at the end! I literally screamed bloody murder and literally experienced shock after I got off the ride. If I ever go back I probably will ride this again to see if it was just as terrifying as it was before. But judging by this video the giant carnotaur at the end still scared me so.. maybe yes. I usually watch videos of the ride before I actually go on it, I didn't do that with this one because I didn't know this ride existed when I went on. Just so you know that carnotaur is completely hidden until the lights come on. The video doesn't do it justice trust me.
Got stuck on this one. They had to walk us out for the entire second half. It was pretty fascinating to see it at a slow pace with the lights on. Also, plenty of grease for the track!
At least when Dinosaur breaks down none of the tourists get eaten.
Disney has so many great rides. Reason I’m watching because I already miss it! Just went on it last spring break.
When i was 6 i was terrified of this ride and my parents made me go on it, in the picture my head is ducked down and my fingers are in my ears LOOL
A little older then u but in 01 my folks forced me on this one I was only 11 at the time
This ride also scared me as a 6 year old, I remember when the ride ended, I came out crying
3:10 The origin of all my nightmares.
Terrifying for me as a child
Every one of them. Same.
It might surprise some to learn that the vehicles on this ride are on a completely flat surface the whole time (until the end when the road goes down hill). All the bumps and shakes etc are caused by hydraulics on the vehicle itself.
Omg I loved this ride, it was awesome, not to mention my little blue triceratops comes from there
My favorite ride. The best is the thrill factor and my then 10 years olds screams and my laughs 🤣 Help Me Linda Help Me
I LOVE THIS RIDEEEE
this ride is just Amazing
One of my favourite indoor dark ride in the world...
when we rode this, we had just departed from the loading dock, rounded that first turn, and my mom suddenly goes "ope, my ears are gone!"😂😂😂
I knew they changed this ride, it was much more intense when it first opened 👀. If I remember correctly, there was a giant sprinting T-Rex at the end, the car falls through a steeper cliff and THEN you go back to the time machine tunnel. The sounds were louder as well.
This is a good ride. It does jerk you some but I never got sick, nauseous or had back pain. Just a fun ride.
"PuLl On ThE yElLoW sTrAp"
This ride looks even cooler in person

I loved going on this ride in Disney World
It’s really a fun ride!
All those turns and the speed
I just thought of this right now after watching this: yunno that loud constant sound in the embarking debarking area of the time rovers, its like a loud constant sound that you hear seemingly coming from maybe large pumps or some machine, I think that was done on purpose so that people wouldnt hear whats going on just on the other side of those walls with the loudest carnitoraus and asteroid at teh end of teh ride being super close to the waiting area in line. Oterwise it was mostly quiet in that area youd constantly be hearing the ending sounds of the ride lol
This was one of my favorite rides I remember they had phylicia rashad at the beginning talking as one of the scientists
I remember when I was younger I went on this ride and had my eyes closed the whole time. I regretted it and now years later I finally found a video for it. I’m 14 btw
I’ve been to Disney Animal Kingdom like more than 3 times and I swear I’ve only been on this ride once when I first came. But now everytime I go, this ride is always closed down. I was traumatize the first time I went since I was only 7-8 but now I really wished I could go again but it would be always closed down and now bc of the pandemic.
I’m really going to miss Dinosaur.
I've been on this ride like a million times. The first time was when I was 7 or 8. But I suggest if your child is young and doesn't like roller coasters/drop rides, then don't get on rides like this.
me and my friends LOVED this ride it was the first ride we rode at Disney. We thought it was just a museum at first and we got horrified finding out it was a ride and when we rode it we were scared and having fun. We ended up riding it 10000 times 💀
Wow it’s still there? I rode this way back in 1999.
The best ride in Disney World!
This ride is so good!!!
I love riding dinosaur! It is my favorite ride in dinoland USA which is at Disney's animal kingdom and after I go on the ride I tour cretaceous trail and then I go on triceratop spin.
