  • In this video, I react for the first time to Voiceplay performing a cover of Miracle of Sound - Valhalla Calling. In this video, I analyse Voiceplay's unbelievable vocal performance, explain and demonstrate their vocal techniques, vocal arrangement techniques and I'll tell you what I think made it so great.
    I also used some AMAZING Austrian Audio Headphones that I absolutely recommend ➡️ austrian.audio/hi-x55/

      Seeing as you like bass voices you really need to check out the the Bass Gang. “Centuries “ is my favorite with “Hooked on a feeling” with Tim Foust.
      All 4 members also do solo covers. Peter Barber does an amazing cover of Enemy and I know Halloween is over but if you’re in the mood for a good old fashioned fun time watch Marwan Ayman doing This is Halloween in 30 styles. And he’s only 21 in this video. 🙀
      If you want to see more of Geoff’s range check out “Shenandoah’

      The beatboxer (Layne) also writes/adapts/arranges the majority of their work, although Geoff also does some of it. Geoff was the original beatboxer for VoicePlay but persuaded Layne to have a go, and the rest, as they say, is history.

    Although I’m always happy when reactors love Geoff, I’m so happy to hear you give the other singers their due. They are all great. But I hope next time you’ll give a little love to Layne. He not only did the arrangement for this one, but kept everything moving with his beat boxing and special effects.
    One small correction - this wasn’t done with green screen. Eli created the environment in Unreal Engines. It was played on huge LCD screens that they performed in front of.

FYI - this wasn't done with 'green screen', like MMTM was, but filmed in a VR studio with huge LED screen walls, so we see what they saw - Eli did amazing work, still creating all the 3D backgrounds in Unreal Engine (gaming software) - also J's plane from Washington to Orlando was 3 hours late, so that may explain the way he joined them part way through! Definately my favorite VP release so far - it seems to have broken sooo many other reactors! 😄

    I believe in one of Geoff's videos he referred to that 'crackling' you speak of as 'Vocal frying" a common technic for bass singers apparently.

    They out do themselves every time! I cannot stop watching this, it is amazing!! That first B0 Geoff hits lasts for 15 seconds!! Eli has become the Asgardian god of rock, Layne is a beatboxing god, Cesar has become a Berserker, and J None has shown us that rap indeed belongs in acapella! Great reaction!

      @Wishbone1977 Год назад +3

      I have seen _so_ many people say this about Geoff's B0, and it's not correct. Twice during those 15 seconds he goes up to a higher note. After the first time he goes back down again, and after the second he goes straight into his verse. Arguably I'd say that's even more impressive than just holding a single note for 15 seconds, even though probably the bassline and his verse were done in separate takes in the studio. I mean, the man has to breathe _sometime._

    Ok, I come to this channel for three reasons. The Geoff Giggles and the note takedowns and the spit-takes (like with the Jinjer Pisces reaction) and the sheer enjoyment you exude watching great music unfold before your eyes. ...
    Amongst the many reasons I come to this channel... :P
    Perfection. As usual. My ONLY complaint that I've ever had, in watching any of your reaction videos, is that you haven't reacted to every single one of my favorite songs.
    * pouts *
    But, since I'm a boomer, I like many genres of music and artists including Ludacris, Outkast, Johnny Cash, Tom T Hall, Metallica, System of a Down, John Denver, Peter Paul & Mary, acapella (especially Voiceplay, Pentatonix, and Home Free), Roberta Flack, Marvin Gaye, Brenda Lee, the Jackson 5, Moody Blues, and many many others. Alas, I must then go away torn at the soul at not hearing your takes. :P
    Simply put, your channel is phenomenal and you are a wonder to watch. Keep up the great videos!

    here's a fun little tidbit, in the nordics and england during the viking age, there was a thing called Flyting, which was in the most basic sense, rap battles, flyting was an exchange of verbal abuse between 2 highly competent individuals, so in a way, these people practicing this, were essentionally rappers
