    Eli hit an F5 in the last chord, and In his solo verse went from a B4 to a D5.. in full voice. And Geoff hit 3 B0's, holding one for 15 seconds! These guys are just incredibly talented and creative.

    Some fun information for you: Geoff held that first B0 subharmonic about 15 seconds beneath the verse (he holds it about 12 seconds later on under the rap), as well as singing several A1, F#1, and E1 Subs and chest notes. And Eli is throwing incredible D5s and B5s around as if they were nothing! The rap lyrics were added, written by Alfredo Austin. You can always find the credits for their videos (and Geoff's) in the descriptions. This was not shot on green screen. It was shot in a volume studio (like the one used for The Mandalorian) with a 155 foot wide, 26 foot tall LED screen, using Eli's Unreal Engine animated set designs. This allows the "set" to track the camera's movement, making it seem as if the guys are actually on an elaborate film set. The air conditioning at the studio wasn't working, so they were very sweaty Vikings LOL Rick Underwood and Renette Feren did an amazing job recreating the My Mother Told Me makeups for the characters, with some added touches. The runes on Cesar's face and Geoff's arm say VoicePlay. The rune on Eli's forearm and J's face (as it was in My Mother Told Me) is the Norse word rune for music, tónlist. The way it is displayed on J's face is reminiscent of the Assassin's Creed: Valhalla character Sigurd Styrbjornson. Geoff had tónlist on his upper arm for MMTM. Several MMTM costume pieces were repurposed for this shoot. One example: Cesar is wearing the robe José used.

      Specifically, Fairy Voice Mother, starting at around 7:12 in her reaction. She plays clips of several famous high belts from pop songs, back-to-back-to-back with Eli's line about Odin's halls, and claims that they are singing the same notes. My pitch perception is not good enough to verify the assertion, but I have no reason to doubt it. Whatever note he's singing, is obviously fairly high, that much I *can* tell.

    The rap section is unique to VoicePlay's rendition. Miracle of Sound rated it 10 out of 10 raised ale horns. Miracle of Sound actually has 3 versions out. There's the solo, the duet featuring Peyton Parrish, and the trio featuring Peyton Parrish & Eric Hollaway. Oh my goddess! You think Geoff's voice can go low? Wait to you hear Mr. Hollaway! Peyton Parrish also has a solo version of this song. I have all five wonderful version on several audio playlists for home and when I'm out, and the YT videos. First Home Free gets me liking country music, then VoicePlay gets me into Viking! How horrible is my life. *sigh* Oh, the agony. Woe is me.

      You'd think Eric goes considerably deeper than Geoff, but he really doesn't. Eric's chest voice bottoms out just one semitone deeper than Geoff (F1 versus F#1). The difference is Eric's resonance and volume at that pitch. Geoff has most basses beat with his resonance and volume... but then there is Eric.

    • @ahau9799
      @ahau9799 Год назад

      @@FiveN9ne Not having a huge range doesn't necessarily mean someone is a bad singer (mind I haven't heard this Eric sing on his own before so I don't know his voice).
      I knew a girl in my theater who was a fabulous singer and was known for her phenomenal high belts (and was the only reason we were able to do POTO) but she couldn't sing below a middle C, her range was confined to the upper soprano range. Small range, still an amazing singer.
      I always wished I had her range but I realized she may feel the same about my range, which is almost the complete opposite of hers (Low contralto sadly).

  • @DavideBaroni
    @DavideBaroni Год назад +6

    That "low subtle sound" in the background at the beginning is a freaking B0 by Geoff. Well, it seems that someone identified a sequence of notes... I only detect the rise at the very end. And he does it again later, although for "only" 10 seconds. Is that man really human? 😁
    Eli's super-high solo: another reactor compared it with the high voice of Whitney Houston, and they were the same height. Impressive 🙂. Also he hits an incredible F5 at the very end.
    J None comes in through the door... The creaking of the door is not a big wooden door. It's LAYNE making that sound... and it's even more realistic than a true door 😁.
    Also, J None's rap. That section was added by Voiceplay, and I read the author of that rap is the same who wrote the other rap we heard J None do with VP, in their cover of "Superstition".
    Cesar revealed his berserker side... And we love it! 😁
    The backgrounds are something Eli created in Unreal Machine (I hope I remember the name correctly), they recorded not in front of a green screen but in fronte of a huge, full wall LED screen where the Unreal Machine thing was shown.
    I hope I didn't wrote too many wrong things. Didn't have my double coffee yet. 😁
    BTW... Loved your reaction. And I totally get the bloopers at the end 😁, enjoyed it so much. Thank you for this all.

    Hello, Yuri. New subscriber here - this reaction popped up on my homepage on the day it was released and I watched it, replied to another comment on here then got sidetracked 🤦‍♀ Today I've had a second listen and hit the subscribe button!
    Loved your reaction to this. It's a great version of the song and J None's rap was a surprise to me as well. I'd heard him rap before (on their version of "Superstition" and "Just Sing") but this was not in the original which I was more familiar with. VoicePlay always credit everyone involved in their videos when they post them and I believe this was written especially for J by another of the band's associates. Nobody was holding back in this - they were all fierce and giving it everything!
    As an aside, I resisted subscribing to reactors for a long time but RUclips can be very insistent! It recognised my liking for (some might say obsession with 😂) bass singers and kept suggesting them and reactions to them on my homepage so I eventually succumbed. I've got a few of you on my subscribed list now. Your reaction to "Centuries" by the Bass Gang and Jonathan Young was one of the first of yours that I noticed and watched as I love JY's voice. Would love to see more reactions to him. I believe you said that you've seen a lot of his videos - have you seen him singing "Don't Fear The Reaper" with Violet Orlandi? It's on her channel not his. He sings in a rather different style to his usual on this and she has an interesting sound - their voices complement each other really well, I think. Would love to see you react to that and know what you think of it 🙂

      To be honest, I found JY through his collab with the Bass Gang and I found them because RUclips threw me a random VoicePlay video suggestion and sent me down a rabbit hole of bass singers!
      I only used to come to RUclips looking for the classic rock songs of my younger years (yeah I'm an old girl who rocked out her teens and early twenties during the classic rock era of the 70's 🙂) You know how it is with RUclips though - they send you to one group or artist and there you see people in the comments talking about and comparing them to other ones, so you go and look them up and on it goes 🤷‍♀
