    • @An.Unsought.Thought
      @An.Unsought.Thought Год назад

      If you have an oily scalp after a day, try and only shampoo the scalp area when you shampoo. If you use conditioner, only condition the ends of your hair, never the scalp, or close to the scalp, since your natural oils will quickly take care of those. With your curl patters the oils probably dont travel down the shaft too quickly, but closer to the head its probably more noticeable. If you have long hair it may help sleeping with your hair in a bun or tied up in some way to prevent the shafts being pressed against your skin and the pillow, causing more oils to transfer on the shaft of your hairs. After that see how long you can go without shampoo.. maybe if its every other day instead of daily, these steps have at least helped a little bit. Don't worry about fancy products until you can try these things out and see what happens. Given you have oily scalp, some products like Head and Shoulders probably wont dry out your hair like it does for some people, but again, scalp and near scalp only for shampoo, ends conditioned and rinsed with cool water. As you rinse your scalp the shampoo should rinse off some of the oils from the rest of the shaft just not as concentrated.

      Might be an early sign of androgenic alopecia. Does anyone in your family have thinning hair?
      When I started to grow out my hair from a military regulation haircut towards longer length I noticed similar change on thickness of hair in regards to were it is on my head. Probably want to get checked out by a dermatologist to be sure cause it could be a lot of things like stress and a tense scalp or issues with diet or sleep. If you catch it early enough you can kinda course correct it from going to a worse condition that is much harder to change.

      1 ) about the front is shorter than back i think it's just an illusion cuz the back hair is always a pain in the ass so u always feel it's longer
      2) if ur hair is not even go get a trim but not much trim OK.. Just the right amount to even out ur hair ....

    Does weather make a difference like I mean can different weathers like humid weather or dry weather make your hair better or worse?

    • @An.Unsought.Thought
      @An.Unsought.Thought Год назад

      Yes. But generally its the extremes that make a difference. Dry air like that experience in colder climates, like during winter in the northern hemisphere, can evaporate the moisture in your hair which dry it out. Can make it brittle, causing more breakage while brushing. May need product to combat this but depending on your hair type and how fast your scalp produces oils, maybe not. And too humid can swell your hair and cause frizz. All you can do is monitor your hair during these environmental conditions and compare them to other environmental conditions and how your hair looks and feels during those.

    Hi Trav, i really need your help with finding the right products for my hair. So i've been growing out my hair for about 2-3 months now(always kept it shorts since my parents didnt want me to have hair longer than 4 inches), and i have found out that my hair is actually curly but there's a problem. My hair only stays curly when i wash it with cold water and wet, and then later brushes out and becomes frizzy. I'm not sure what my hair type is but according to the images of hair types, i seem to have 2c or 3b type hair(when washed with cold water and is still wet). But when it brushes out, i think it becomes 2a/2b type hair, and i was wondering how to keep my hair 2c/3b because i love how it looks. Any recommendations of product that might help me out?

    Hello trav white I am a 13 y.o who wants to keep long hair. I have 1-2a type hair, I am too young to have a beard so I look like a girl my parents always tell me I look like a girl and I should cut it they dont support me with my journey I dont have a good shampoo and other products bc of that I tell my parents abt you but they dont listen what do you think I should do I like my long hair

    • @An.Unsought.Thought
      @An.Unsought.Thought Год назад +2

      You have a whole life ahead of you. At 13 you will likely be subject to your parents rules and choices for a few years. Look forward to getting a job and making your own money so that you can buy the products you want. Probably going to be around 16 to 18. If your parents let you keep your long hair, figure out ways to make it look as good as possible. May take trial and error but you can always brush it in different ways, introduce hair ties for different styles, wear a beanie/slouchy. Being compared to a girl is common by people who grew up used to guys having short hair. If you look like a girl its more likely because you are 13 and not yet a grown adult... your time will come. Be patient. Try not to resent your parents, products cost money. And if you end up going through a trial/error process with pricy products that they can't be sure will react well with your hair, I'm sure they don't want that money to be wasted. Especially in this economy. Ultimately when you do get older your hair will probably look and grow better than it does now and your future self probably won't think much about the hair you have now. So perhaps making due with the products you have available to you is good enough for now.

    • @cosmos3753
      @cosmos3753 Год назад

      1-2a hair type, thick density, 27 yo male, about armpit hair length at my 4th long hair journey.
      Let's start with the "look like a girl" thing. You don't need a beard, you just need some patience. At my last awkward stage (1 year back) when i couldn't wear my hair in a bun yet, the first time that a friend of my parents met me he told me (before saying hello) that I look like my mother but taller and with a stubble 😂 (he didn't mean to offend me or make fun of me, he was just spontaneous). Don't worry, I have even more ridiculous stories from my 1st long hair journey (when I was 11 yo). If you want long hair just give it a try because if you keep it long you will have the most badass style after 2 years.
      Here is the order (from more feminine look to more masculine for our hair type as it grows longer naturally, without undercut): loose hair > half-up half-down (not a fan at this early stage, try it only if you have more of a thin hair density otherwise it's better to avoid it completely at this stage, or not, your choice) > man bun (not too high, not too low, the messier the more masculine) > ponytail (the higher the more feminine, the lower the more masculine). So with the right hairstyle the longer your hair, the more masculine it looks.
      You have to set your first goal. If I were at your age I would go for a "Low fade undercut with man bun" hairstyle (again, bun must not placed too high) at first and then I would experiment according to my taste. The undercut will make your style more masculine.
      If you can't have a good shampoo, conditioner and other products go for a not good shampoo (but use less amount) + a not good *conditioner + learn how to use argan oil (you can buy it from a pharmacy or a herbs & spices shop).
      * If you can't have a conditioner then make it by yourself. You need to mix coconut oil and honey and you are ready.
