      @BlGASH actually my 3600Mhz kit runs at CL18 which results in a latency of 10ns whereas a 8000Mhz kit at CL38 would run at 9.5ns - so definitely not relevant. Besides when I build this system DDR4 was not even yet available

    It is worth mentioning what CPU you use. Intel 12th gen and later is known to be a lot faster in Windows 11 due to having a better task scheduler to make use of the efficiency cores. For Ryzen and 11th gen Intel or earlier the difference is smaller.

    I play COD MW3 on Windows 11 with a 10900k, 4400mhz cl17 ram, and a 7900XTX. I play at 1440p low settings both mp and wz.
    Resizable Bar DISABLED benchmarks
    CPU: 385fps avg - 256fps 1%lows
    GPU: 323fps avg - 256fps 1%lows
    Bottlenecks: CPU 11% and GPU 89%
    Overall 315fps avg - 243fps 1% lows.
    Resizable Bar ENABLED benchmarks
    CPU: 335fps avg - 124fps 1%lows
    GPU: 364fps avg - 249fps 1%lows
    Bottlenecks: CPU 64% and GPU 36%
    Overall 324fps avg - 124fps 1% lows.
    So disabling Resizable Bar raises the CPUs 1%lows from 124fps to 256fps but hurts the GPU making it the bottleneck with 89%. For fps games is it not better to be cpu bottlenecked and not GPU bottlenecked so as to eliminate system latency? Or is it more important to play with higher 1% lows?
    Please reply at your convenience. I found these results to be interesting findings.

      I limit my FPS so I get a consistent feeling in game and it keeps my GPU load around 80-90% which helps with overall latency. Obviously the more frames you push the quicker they will get displayed but the tearing / stutter annoys me and affects my gameplay more than a few ms of system latency.

      I made this switch in reverse (from Win11 to Win10) two days ago and, until now, all that i see is improving in the performance of my games.
      The main problem of Windows 11 is the pre loading of resources that are not being used. And, to cheaper hardwares, this can be a problem, and it was for me...

  • @ZomgZomg007
    @ZomgZomg007 3 месяца назад

    Something is so off with these numbers, to see such a massive swing in CP2077, R6 from just switching to Windows 11. FYI 12th or 13th or 14th gen won't make a difference in games like CP2077, W10 still knows not to put shit into e-cores.
    Also if your using path tracing, then your also going to use frame gen, and re-bar is required for frame generation.
    Please double check your cp2077, that game has a really bad side effect of settings not saving properly. your 1% min difference is like going 3-4 generations in graphics cards.

    • @Toutvids
      @Toutvids 6 месяцев назад

      Windows 10 supports it but HAG is only beneficial to low and mid tier systems and you, having a 7900XTX, is not a low or mid tier system. It is for systems that end up with 100% CPU usage during gaming. So it would be pointless to even use it and the options won't even show up, like in my system.

    Without actively measuring, I have generally not felt much difference between windows 10 and windows 11 for gaming. Though interestingly, The Planet Crafters is the one exception for me. 4K, midway through the game, REBAR off (as it is by default), but with all the base objects, I get pretty solid stuttering approaching my base. Have reinstalled windows 10 today as a test, and do not have the same stuttering issue. So it feels like there is something different between the two OSes, just not something you usually tell by casual play. 😁
    As a side note - I tried Linux/proton also, and didn't feel any stutter heading into the base zone. But I guess your experience may vary.

      @@johnvn21 My advise would be windows 11. I dont really think you'll see a difference performance wise (max 5-10 fps difference but with your specs you dont reaaly need those extra frames as pretty much anything will run a stable 60 fps and even if it does not you could slightly reduce the graphics quality) in the end it just comes to your personal preference. I suggest you go for 11 as you are pretty new and people who stick with 10 just do so because they are used to it or they know what they are doing. Windows 11 is much more user friendly. For example if you somehow break your OS, 11 has a repair function and you are also going to get better support. Best not to overthink about is and just have fun👍👍

      @@TechGuides So, here's the thing. I open my nvidia control panel 》system information and there's no information about resizable bar.
      Also in my bios, I only see 2 options, Intel VTX and Intel VTD. That's it, else all generic functions. Checked on my laptops manufacturer's website whether there's an vbios that I could flash but no luck

      You would be better off upgrading your rig to something usefull.... I wouldnt let my wife game on that let alone attemp to stream. wow what trash.... cheapo RAM cheapo MOBO cheapo GPU YUCK. Gotto save that money when building but then have issues with performance. You could have worked and saved for an extram 3 months and gone top tier with out issues and enough power to spare to play 2 games at the same time and stream.

    You seem to be the proverbial exception to the rule. I experienced a noticeable decrease in gaming performance after upgrading to Win11 so I did a clean install of Windows 10 and modified the registery so MS could not trick me into upgrading to 11 without my knowledge. And all other gaming YTers I've seen also noticed the same performance issues and they clearly show the 11 version results in a lower fps rate in basically every game. The Win11 security problem with Ryzen processors seem to have been solved in a recent patch but I would still advise any Ryzen gamer to stick to Windows 10 for the time being. But I appreciate your video, it's always good to have multiple points of view and maybe it performs much better with Intel processors. I have a Ryzen 7 5800X with RTX2080Super btw.

      Thanks for the comment. Frankly I really stuggle to find performance issues on both my Win11 machines (one is an Intel, the other AMD)... Maybe they all had re-bar enabled for their tests? Anyways, I wish I had the time to dig deeper into this topic but I'm pretty nuch floored with work until the end of September.

      @@TechGuides Thank YOU for replying, I really appreciate that. I am just one gamer with one PC so I have to rely on the advice of others. And from what I understand the 23H2 update did improve Win11 slightly but it's still not on the level of Win10 when it comes to gaming performance. Of course the 1% Lows are more important than a few frames extra and Win1123H2 did seem to improve that over Win1122H2 but it's still not quite there. Win11 does not disable the Core Isolation feature automatically like Win10 did, that is probably why I noticed the difference myself even without testing. But even manually disabling it and comparing the two Win10 wins hands down every time, at least in the tests I'd seen before. Please take a look at the recent Hardware Unboxed video here on YT called: Windows 10 vs. Windows 11: Gaming Benchmarks, 7700X, 7800X3D, 12700K, 14700K. He includes some Intel builds so it seems a fair comparison to me. Do you have any idea why his results are so much different than yours? Most gamers like me have to rely on channels like this in order to decide what to buy and what to use. Appreciate your response very much, thanks!
