The 90s cartoon Apocalypse killed the entire X-men Alpha team after they set his techno-organic virus on fire. The comic series Age Of Apocalypse was faithful to the amount of a threat he was. It is shame how this movie made Apocalypse into a villian-of-week Ivan Ooze.

Jennifer Lawrence her acting and how much they used her and made Mystique so important to the story because she was the actor playing her is what killed this movie the most.

That, and there was strong performances from the girls, unfortunately the guys were a bit overshadowed due to having less to work with. One of the better points is definitely the visuals for Magik, (although I'm biased as she's one of my favourites) which benefited from the delays.

4:32 despite that being stupid as hell, the arrow hitting them BOTH what are the fucking odds, Fassbender still fucking owns it for his acting. You feel his pain. Especially when he shouts, "Is this what you want?! Is this what I am?!"
What I hated about it the most is that Apocalypse, the so called most powerful mutant in the world. The inferior version of Darkseid or Thanos died in such a dull way. He died fighting two or three mutants if that while in the original cartoon he could take on ten or twenty with ease. I mean the scary thing about Apocalypse is that he has centuries of knowledge and almost unlimited powers. I remember fighting him in a ps3 game where he could teleport, grow to be a giant, revive allies, and attack from a distance. This one was a diet version of the comic books one.
They should have kept Matthew Vaughn as director after first class. the scenes revolving around Eric Lyncher's revenge alone make the film worth watching.
The scene in the woods with Magneto is what I point to as one of the main problems with this film. Okay the arrow going through the wife and daughter was a bit of a stretch and a bit silly, but I can live with it, because Magneto taking the locket and killing all the guards was actually a really powerful and interesting scene. And then AND THEN they have to ruin it by having him look at the sky and scream "IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT FROM ME!?" Trust your audience. Let the moment stew. Don't just have your characters scream out their motivations.
One of the things i always hated abut these new X-Men is how they screwed up the Summers brothers. Havok is technically the younger brother but because they wanted new characters for First Class and it was shortly after X3 they didn't want to use Scott so Havok. One of the reasons I'm glad Marvel has the X-Men again so we don't have to witness this mess ever again.

Yes! The Great is amazing and more people need to watch it! I love it!
As you may know this is a First Viewing starring Doug & Rob Walker.
Comment, THIS!!!!
😎
I still don’t know why THIS is the one is considered to be so bad. This is nowhere near the worst comic book movie, nor even the worst X-Men movie.
This movie is worth watching just for Michael Fassbender. Dark Phoenix was worth watching for that reason as well!!
Fassbender is such a good actor. He really nailed Young Magneto. Ian McKellen must be proud.
And then
AND THEN
they have to ruin it by having him look at the sky and scream "IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT FROM ME!?"
Trust your audience. Let the moment stew. Don't just have your characters scream out their motivations.
Yo, I actually never knew Doug is married
Thank goodness! I thought they weren't doing these anymore!
Apocalypse (Gently taps microphone) "Ahem.....EVERYTHING THEY BUILT WILL FALL!"
One of the things i always hated abut these new X-Men is how they screwed up the Summers brothers. Havok is technically the younger brother but because they wanted new characters for First Class and it was shortly after X3 they didn't want to use Scott so Havok. One of the reasons I'm glad Marvel has the X-Men again so we don't have to witness this mess ever again.
best moment when rockets fly to space by music of bethoven
They did do a commercial with Evan Peters quicksilver. It was for Macallisters.
