Apocalypse getting rid of the world's nuclear missiles is one of the great comic-book movie moments. There's very few epic scenes like it.
I never noticed blob with his comic book outfit was being carried out of the ring before the archangel/nightcrawler fight
Oscar Isaacs Is As Apocalypse!😭🫣🤗🥰🌩🌈💞🎛🖥
Just a copy of "The Nth Man"
@@jhilal2385stay mad
also the one thing that could never happen, lol
43:39 The Essex Corporation is a reference to Mister Sinister whose real name is Nathaniel Essex.
Yes it's a shame that thay have not done him right in live action yet, in the X-Men cartoons he's rushed past with out diveing into him deeply. Also in the comic books he is a major pain in the ass for everyone for decades.
And that weapon x blood is for DEADPOOL
Which would have been a much better (and a rather fresh) villain for Dark Phoenix than those dang aliens
@@StevenHouse1980I heard the plan was to cast Jon Hamm as the character. Disney buying Fox properties forced them to skip over the plans for Sinister and to do another attempt to adapt the Dark Phoenix. I think this next attempt is worse than the last attempt of this storyline.
Correct. Who Kristen was thinking of was Bolivar Trask who created Trask Industries.
It’s funny that the 5 minute scene of Wolverine in this movie does a more accurate job of showing his origin than his actual origin movie! Hell in this one we actually get to see him use his berserker rage, he’s even wearing a very similar harness and helmet to the one from the comics from his time as Weapon X.
They finally got it right.
weapon x isnt his origin but ok
It was pointless fan service.
@@chand911It's part of it
@@BonzoDrummerstay mad. In comics, we have little references & cameos like this all the time.
If I had a nickel for every time Oscar Issach played a Marvel character tied to Egypt, I'd have 2 nickels.
Which isn't a lot. But it's still weird it happened twice.
In the comics, Storm was born with her white hair. She's descended from a long line of African priestesses/sorceresses, all of whom had blue eyes and white hair. So in addition to her powerful mutant abilities, she has an enormous potential to be a powerful sorceress if she were inclined to study magic.
God damn Michael Fassbender is an incredible actor
Yes he is! i have always wanted him to play James Bond he would so kill that role as Bond.
@@LenOliver-yz6os exactly I’m hoping as he’s only 49 he might still do it he’s literally a perfect bond
@@LenOliver-yz6osI honestly can’t see that like at all. But definitely as a 007 villain
Hot af too
Agreed
The school explosion scene is incredible. Wolverine in this movie is made to look like the classic “Weapon X” version of him from the comics with that headset and everything
Idk why Psylocke is so hot in everything. Live action, animation, comics you name it.
But no speaking lines though
May as well called her Kwannon.
Yet the actress that played her hated how she was nothing but "eye candy" in this movie (this movie came out around the time the Me Too movement was starting to take shape) and Olivia Munn was very vocal about playing the character.
@@technofilejr3401| Yeah, she had the personality of cardboard box in this movie.
The actress actually passed up the role of Vanessa in the Deadpool movies to play Psylocke because she didn't want to play the role of a girlfriend again and instead wanted to fight.
Personally, I don't think that was a good idea since Vanessa was set to appear in multiple movies unlike Psylocke, but I greatly enjoy Morena Baccarin in the role of Vanessa so I ain't complaining.
@@RandomNPC001 all the side characters have less speaking lines, they're side characters. She's wearing what she wears in the comics, so she should have known that's what she was going to be.
Apocalypse's dinosaur tantrum scream will always get me.
"I've never felt power like this before.."
Yeah that was Apocalypse saying that through Charles while taking control of him and Cerebro..
Shows how unique Charles truly is
@BlackGirlMarvel well that was cerebro. Charles himself can't get anywhere near that. 😅
@@lukethorpe216 nah Apocalypse was talking about Charles unique power to not only enter and see but control peoples minds and to BE other people.. he wasn't concerned with or impressed by Cerebro, but by Charles unique mind controlling power.. he pretty much said so himself later in the movie..
@@cjperry2731 yeah the ability itself is cool but it's not like he's the only telepath. There are others but I get that's what he meant. I just meant his raw power wasn't that mind-blowing coz he has to amplify his powers to reach ppl on such a scale
@@lukethorpe216 I get what you mean, but Charles is the only telepath he's ever encountered that can outright control other people's minds, and in fact the only one we ever see that can, that's why he's a class 5 mutant..
17:03, actually Storm's hair was always white. The X-Men movies have put all of the characters and timelines into one big blender and hit puree.
What I don't like is each character either gets more or less powerful depending on the movie and plot.
@@stevemcgowen Yeah, the power is inconsistent. But the story is inconsistent too. The chronology doesn't work for a lot of characters. It wouldn't matter if the movie was amazing, we wouldn't break our suspension of disbelief. But... so many small inconsistencies... the movie is just not good enough to carry them all.
I don't like this movie too much. But the scene with quicksilver saving everyone is one of the coolest music scenes I have ever seen in a movie.
@@Alfonso88279dropping a rock into the pond of time is bound to have ripple effects that change things along the way
Exactly!
Yeah... I watched this shit in the theater when it came out, the only good thing about it is Munn and how fucking badass she is as Psylocke
Yeah, in the comics Magneto had three children
Twins, Pietro(Quicksilver) and Wanda (scarlet Witch)with Serbian Romani(sometimes called Gypsies) mutant Natyala "Magda" Maximoff who Magento married in the comics. she like Magneto was a survivor of the Concentration camps as the Roma where also targeted by the Nazis for extermination. she had similar powers to her daughter Wanda. They where attacked while living in Eastern Europe,.Magda was killed and Eric believed his children had died as well only to be reunited later after the.twins had grown up.
He also has another daughter Lorna Dane(aka Polaris) from a later affair with a woman named Suzzane.Dane when he was living in America. she does not know he is her father till she is a adult after she had already been a student of Professor Xavier. Lorna has similar powers to her father and Interestingly she has been in a on and off again relationship with Alex Summers in the comics since they where teenage members of the team X-Factor . The film's switched Scott(Cyclops) and Alex's birth order. In the comics Cyclops is the oldest of the three Summers brothers. they have a younger brother Gabriel aka Vulcan who was born in the Shiar empire after their Parents where abducted by aliens(yes the summer's family have one isn't he weirder backstroke in comics) . Their father Christopher Summers becomes a Space Pirate leading a crew called the Star Jammers
Wanda and Peter are not Erik's kids in the current comic continuity.
Also Scott has a fourth half brother, Adam X.
vulcans the oldest
Comic fans can curse this film all they want, but its an entertaining flick on its own. It had a lot going for itself, The return of James and Micheal as Charles and Eric, return of Quicksilver and the OP-est of OP scenes which was the coolest, the story was rooted in family and mentorship which is literally what X-Men have always been about. The score was epic, and the story tied nicely at the end. Plus, the closing of this film is the most fitting finale that could have been and that is the hill I'd die on. Those beautiful suits, and the conversation between Charles and Eric with the call back to the seniors, and the last shot closing on the most accurate professor X look of all times! The problem is Infinity war was coming around at the same time and hence nothing seemed satisfactory after all, specially since the last film was DOFP. I'd come back to this film whenever I watch X Men in the future, and I am sure history will be kinder to it.
Edited to say: Not every villain needs to be there for 5 movies, and not every story arc needs to be done in 10 movies.
It’s a ok film. At least it’s better then Dark Phoenix.
@@emanuelrodriguez9044 Dark Phoenix is almost as bad as X-Men the 3rd.

In comics, Moira is a past love interest, and still friend of Charles...but...she's a genius scientist. That specialized in mutant genetics. Not just another secret agent.
And EssexCorp is not "the little guy from the last film"( *Bolivar Trask,* deftly played by Peter Dinklage)..lol
A villain who usually prefers to act through agents and manipulation, *Mr. Sinister* was born *Nathaniel Essex* in Victorian London.
A human scientist, Essex is inspired by the work of his contemporary Charles Darwin, predicts the rise of mutants, and becomes obsessed with engineering humanity into a perfect race of superhumans.
He also gave himself powers.
Mister Sinister can manipulate his powerful psionic energy in various ways, including *telepathy and telekinesis.* However, one of the most devastating uses of this energy comes in the form of powerful concussive blasts that he generates from his hands.
in the comics Scott is the oldest and Alex is the baby, they got Scott and Alex's ages backwards in this movie
they did this with a lot of characters
emma frost too was aged up
Is it true that Scott's laser eyes are actually another dimension... or something like that?
@@floppyblanket2587 the concussive force that he fires from his eyes is from another dimension. At full power, he can punch a hole through a mountain. That said, while the energy he projects is extradimensional, his ability to use his power is gained by absorbing solar radiation.

Kristen and Achara, in the early 90s there was a comic book called Legion , about a character, they made a tv show about him on FX, and in that comic book, he went crazy and went back in time and killed his father. so if his father died before he could form the Xmen, they never fought and defeated Apocalypse, so for a year in marvel comics, all comic books were cancelled, and they just did comic books from an alternate dimension, where the Xmen never existed and Apocalypse had taken over, it was called, the AGE OF APOCALYPSE.
Now that or a true Age of Ultron would be something to see in film.
Best Cameos of Stan Lee & Wolverine in my opinion. Also that is Stan Lee's wife Joan.
By the way, Achara and Kristen, the actor who plays Apocalypse is actor Oscar Isaac who also plays Poe Dameron in Star Wars: Episodes VII, VIII, and IX. But he also stars in a really great Sci-Fi film titled, "Ex-Machina" (2014).
He also plays Duke Leto Atreides in the Dune series
And moon knight
@@andersongomez9470So Moon Knight's 4th personality is Apocalypse. No shit Sherlock. Both are obsessed with Egyptian stuff Jesus Christ.
No-one cares, no-one asked.
@@VykeKing - Stick yourself. Clown. LOL.
Apocalypse was briefly teased in a post-credits scene from the previous film. The actress playing Jean in this had a starring role in Game of Thrones. Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch are the twin children of Magneto
actually, the 2014 AXIS crossover retconned the Wanda's parentage again, revealing Magneto is not biologically Scarlett Witch's father, contrary to that relationship's place in the canon for 32 years.
Scott Summers glasses are made a ruby quartz material that diffuses his optic blasts.
I really feel bad for Olivia Munn as Psylocke in this movie. Olivia proved in The Newsroom that she is a good actress, and she’s a massive fan of the character from the comics, but instead they did to her what they ironically did with Mystique in the first 3 movies, make her eye candy they does a couple of cool things then disappears, only in this case never to be seen again.
Made her eye candy, like Mystique? With the exception of Mystique walking out of Cerebro, most people have never looked at her as eye candy in that way (that I know). One of the biggest complaints about the original movies for X men fans is how Mystique is in them too much, so I don't know where you're getting that from. As to Psylocke, she's always been eye candy, that's how she looks in the comics. I thought they did a good job representing her, she fought really well, and she was able to momentarily halt Apocalypse. They only made one more TEAM Xmen film, so they only squandered one opportunity. She is a lesser known X-Men from the blue team. Don't get me wrong, I like her, and I wouldn't mind seeing her in other movies, but her characterization was on point. Besides, there are a ton of other characters that they have not represented or slighted.
@@jlhanlon1980I have never once heard anyone complain abt Mystique being in the first 3 too much. You seem to have it flipped with the times Jennifer Lawrence played the character, with her movies ppl thought she was in them too much. If anything ppl wanted her to be like Mystique in the og 3.
It's not like she didn't read the script before she signed on...
@@havok6280 true but an actor can make a great performance out of a smaller character as long as the direction is great.
I just noticed that Scott's school teacher at 3:20 is none other than The Breakfast Club's Alley Sheedy! How did I miss that!?
Also she was in the two Short Circuit films back in the early 80's as well, that makes two things you miss to catch?.
And the reason for the film people behind the film to happen to cast an ex well-known actor from the 80's pay fan-service to film watchers of that decade,.ha?. Three for three miss!.
She's actually a teacher now. Teaches at the Frank Sinatra school of arts. At least, last I heard. Haven't checked in a few years.
The short sentinal guy is called Bolivar Trask. Essex corp isn't anythibg to do with him, its a company owned by a different X-Men villain called Mister Sinister, who is famous for making clones, hence why he wants the blood of mutants.
I don’t know why but “the short sentinel guy” made me laugh 😂
If you dislike scenes in this movie, the next one’s gonna drive you crazy 😂
This X men movie kick ass i really liked it yeah the next one sucks!!! it bomb big time at the big scream
She's gonna hate it, when mystiq dies
@@theinspiredmindYTI felt that Mystique dying - and so early - was the best thing about that movie, especially how she started that movie off by being insufferable. Deadpool 2?
The briefcase wasn't a reference to Trask from the last movie it was a reference to a different evil mutant who they've yet to introduce and probably won't ever introduce
The power of Apocalypse which enhanced Prof. Xavier gave him the power to transfer his own consciousness to other human beings... Thats why we can see in X men: Last Stand post credit Xavier in a hospital where his original body was decimated by Jean Grey....

She doesn’t know the comics. She is just watching the movies.
@@ninipookie Of course. I’m aware, and that’s fine. I’m just pointing out that everything that she isn’t liking about the movie are just things that are 100% accurate from the comics. The movie wouldn’t make sense without those things, because they are the direct source material.
And have the nerve to complain about movies not following the source material. You and others like you are the reasons why movies change adapting from the original story because too many of you expect realism from movies based off of comics where the reader goes in expecting the ultimate in non realistic situations. We don't question the absurdity we expect it because it's fantasy
Eh just because it's in the comics doesn't mean it works for the movie
I just realized Mystique's armor in the end resembles her comic book costume, which is a white halter-neck dress. LOL.
Apocalypse looks amazing in live-action, plus his speech when Magneto destoryed Auschwitz gave me chills
An important Marvel fact:- Ramatut and El sabahnur are arch rivals I don't know if Marvel will touch this relationship at all. These are not some random characters they're very important ones
8:43, Moira McTaggart here is actually a mutant as well. However, her mutation doesn't show up as one.
Moira's power takes the form of resurrection and reincarnation. Whenever she dies her psyche travels back in time to the moment of her birth with all of her prior memories intact.
Using these old memories she can create a new life and do things different and create a new timeline.
Across her many lives, Moira has been an assassin for SHIELD, a genetic scientist, Professor Xavier's baby mama and the bride of Apocalypse. In one lifetime she met with Xavier and Magneto and put together plans that would lead to a mutant homeland.
Fascinating.
Hate to be that guy but this movie came out before she was retconned to be a mutant. I do hope in the next iteration of movie x-men they acknowledge that though.
You’re right, but Moira being a mutant is a recent retcon. Before Krakoa, she wasn’t a mutant.
@@CharathlieYeah I know
That's unfortunate because there's something meaningful about the mutants actually having a human ally in the films- kind of the whole point of what they're fighting for.
Last movie Wolverine was tossed in the river, military caught him, gave him his claws, locked him up, In this movie Jean finds him, give back some of his memories and creates that weird connection between them we see in the first movies, it all connects....maybe they should watch movies everyday, they can upload whenever ofc, but they should just marathon these because they seem to forget everything, lol
Ikr? I've noticed that too, I guess they forgot what happened with Logan in the end of the last film.
Feel so sad for Kristen 'cause she had such a great time.... :(
3:21 - Don't know if you guys ever watched the 80s teen film, "The Breakfast Club", but this teacher in this scene is actress Ally Sheedy who was one of the stars in that film, and one of the famous "Brat Pack" in those days (which actors like Robert Downey Jr., Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, and Charlie Sheen were members of). If you've never watched The Breakfast Club, it is a great classic film, and worth the watch! Loads of fun! :)
In the after the credits scene, the name Essex Corp on the brief case refers to Nathaniel Essex. AKA Mr. Sinister. A big time X-Men villain. They teased him but never built a story for him. I'm not sure why.
This one gets a lot of hate from fans, but I actually enjoy it quite a bit (Apocalypse’s look aside, as I do feel that aspect was a big let down).
Erick storyline, Apocalypse’s weapons speech, and Quicksilver saving the X-men are shining points in the film.
Fun story that connects to First Class, like usual James McAvoy is amazing as Professor X, also love Nightcrawler, he's the second best character in the movie.
Quick Silver (and his sister Wanda) are Magneto's kids in the comics. That's entirely the reason for bringing it in.
They should've actually had him tell Magneto. it would've paid off better.
Watch Split 2016 Amazing Movie James McAvoy Really Awesome Movie ❤
This movie holds a special place in my heart because my friend's daughter (T.J. McGibbon) has a small role as Magneto's daughter. She also played young Vanya in the Umbrella Academy.
I remember having fun with this movie in theaters! Not one of the best X-Men movies, but it’s the most “superhero movie” like if that makes any sense. And this Quicksilver scene is even better than the last one!
Please remember Calliban made an appearance here, nobody remembers him when watching Logan 😂
Apocalypse just wasn't physically imposing enough. Psylocke was hot but wasted.
It has a few flaws, but this one is a much better movie than a lot of people give it credit for. First Class, Days Of Future Past, and Apocalypse are a pretty solid trilogy.
So Alex is not the father, but Scott's brother 😂
Well he was always the brother, but in the comics he was the younger of the two
@@GeorgeKittiras I was fooling with them, cus they talked about how Scott must be Alex' son in the other movies
The wolverine scene was actually necessary because it gives context and legitimacy to the new timeline. In days of future past the timeline was reset, in the ending stryker captured Logan to make the weapon x, in the past timeline Logan freed himself after the weapon x experiment succeeded, and that is the one that appeared in xmen origins. In this timeline it was the x men who freed Logan, and that is how this new timeline is legitimized.
Don’t waste your time explaining to Kristen. Shes so insufferable here with the Moira bashing lol
And she doesn’t see reason. Lol

Essex Corp (from the end credit scene) is run by Mr Sinister who played a big role in the X-Men 97 series recently and is a great villain with a deep history in the comics.
19:41, To a certain extent Apocalypse thinks of all the other mutants has his children. So he can be a bit heavy handed in what he thinks they should do. I wish the producers had taken a page from the Avengers movie and made him taller (like Thanos is shown to be). Normally Apocalypse is 7 foot tall or more. Oscar Isaac the actor portraying Apocalypse is only 5 foot 9.
In the many lives of Moria McTaggart shown there is a distant future in which Apocalypse has been accepted into the mutant fold and he leads the X-Men. He is so respected, beloved and revered by the squad that even Wolverine calls him sir. On a secret mission in this distant future, his tremendously long life finally ends fighting off three Nimrod class Sentinels by himself to allow the other X-Men escape.
The squad is upset to see him go but in the comics Apocalypse had already said "I've already lived forever. But if forever comes to an end let me fall in battle surrounded by my defeated enemies and my sword wet"

My fave things in 2024
In the comics the story of Angel getting his metal wings is so much darker and more tragic.
The logan scene incorporates the weapon X aesthetic and dynamic from the comics so it's a bit of fan service there but because days of future past left wolverines history altered, it was cool to find out that the weapon X program still went ahead, Stryker was still involved and logan still had adamantium grafted to his skeleton.
This is a great channel! I only caught sight of you in recent times, but it’s now among my favourite channels.
They actually show Jubilee’s powers in a deleted scene, but even then…These movies never knew what to do with her. She’s also in X-Men The Last Stand as one of Magneto’s pawns, you only see her when they approach the guy who invented the cure.
Quicksilver being Magneto's son is not a "move" in this movie, Kristen. He's his son in the comics all along. Along with his sister, Magneto's daughter, Wanda. Yes, that Wanda, the Scarlet Witch.
21:14 Man, I'm so glad Jubilee is getting the credit she deserves in X-Men 97! These movies did her dirty! 😭
Magneto is quick silver's father in the comics Kristen, quick silver and scarlet witch are his kids
Kristen basically wants a side plot movie where Magneto goes back to living with the humans, they ultimately find out and kill his wife and kid, he goes on a revenge Arc to kill all the people but seeing the kindness of some humans and realising not all are bad he turns back.
Kristen is right. Its her fault charles is in wheelchair. Tf was she thinking firing at a metal bender who controlled nukes . Magneto could not see his friend in the crossfire and was deflecting. But she was in perfect spot to see him behind Magneto and Didn't think for a moment about him or was considerate that she could also accidentally shoot him
Has anyone noticed that, at 28:19, despite she's being locked in a cell with a power inhibitor, Mystique has kept her human appearance when she should logically be blue? 🤔
No no Magneto is Peter's father in comics too
Nightcrawler's parents used to be Mystique and Azazel but this had been changed. As of 2023 Nightcrawler's birth origin is that Mystique became male in order to have a child with Irene Adler (Destiny). Also, another change is that Magneto is no longer the father of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. The Essex reference is NOT about Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinels. Psylocke and Angel were members of the X-Men. Angel was one of the original 5 members in the comics, along with Cyclops, Marvel Girl (Jean Grey), Beast, and Iceman. Psylocke was a team member later. She has powers similar to Jean's but after a series of events she developed an ability to make weapons made from psionic energy.
end credit scene was for OG X-men Fans who grew up watching the X-Men the animated series..... and when this came out i was wondering where was that person
Ladies some fun tid bits Alex summers in the comics is actually cyclops younger brother not older. The scene with wolverine was necessary in my opinion cause it’s a classic from the comics called the weapon x arc
Essex Corp means Nathaniel Essex, a.k.a. Mister Sinister
The "I'm your son" thing could've worked I feel. Magneto loses his family, goes on a rampage, finds out he still has family, chills out, that's an arc. You could even play it off funny with Quicksilver where it's awkward. And obviously your daughter just died, and your dad is a mutant terrorist, it's gonna be awkward and not immediate hugs and opening up. But it'd have been a good nudge for Magneto to remind him that life has more in store for him. We could've had a whole flashback for Quicksilver's backstory and build the story around this concept of family. But we just did the bare minimum of casually mentioning it and then chickening out from the pay-off.
I think that would've really helped Magneto. I was bummed they didn't use it.
Omg wtf is Kristen blathering and droning on about in the review. As many cuts made u can only imagine how long she went on. Poor Achara.
And did she not realize it's based in the 80's? Jubilee's wardrobe was on point. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️GEEZUS.
I usually always thought Kristen was kinda dumb.. But for this review, she's just saying what all of us with a brain have already said.
No, this is NOT how Storm got her hair in this movie.
Storm was born as an Omega level mutant with white hair. Apocalypse did not enhance her ability.
By the way, there are four different levels of mutants.
The highest mutant would be Omega level. That's what professor x, storm, magneto, engine gray are. Butts, there are some mutants that are born with God level abilities. That means you cannot measure their ability because they are absolutely unlimited.
Kristen has been making that same mistake since X-men first class.. "Oh so that's how that happened.. Oh so that's how they met.. Oh so that how they got that" ect. I'm just sitting there like, "Well yessss but no, they just made that up for these movies"
Wolverines badass carnage moment gives me Darth Vader in Rouge One vibes.
Psylocke was underutilized. Striker being in this was jsut kind of a whole plot detour, I never liked that either, it was jsut a setup to see Wolverine kick ass, meet the kids, and then dip. His cameo in First Class was short but so much more memorable!
Also, they pretty much killed Angel/Archangel. Warren's still alive in the comics, and he's even got his organic wings back at some point, I think. Having him be some drunken pretty boy who cage fights as a captured mutant .... my nitpicks for this movie could go on, but it has its moments, Fassbender's and McAvoy's acting being the highlights.
Also, I will always love Nightcrawler and Beast.
magneto was literally trying to wipe out a fleet of ships and moira was trying to stop him. I mean sure, it wad self defence on magneto's part but so was moira/the military. The fact that charles legs were collateral to all that is what makes it all so tragic. Everyone and no one was at fault there lmao
The two best cinepal reactors!
Olivia Munn was the best part of this movie ! ❤
In comics, Scott’s powers are the result of a brain damage he suffered from he and his brother fell of a copter. Made him unable to turn it off.
quicksilver would have had to move at 3 BILLION meters per second to achieve the feat he did in this movie, lol, according to ask ai :P
Achara:
Essex Corp. is associated with Mr. Sinister, not Trask Industries.
Jean in the final moments becoming the Pheonix and killing Apocalypse was epic to me
Nightcrawler has to see where he's going or have been there before, so in memory, and 3 miles max.
Bryan Singer should've left the franchise after DOFP
Because since he already gave everything he had with DOFP, it was a lot harder for him to outdo himself again
