    Hi Christine and Vera good news that you got LR3 through the tuv . I've never been to Taco Bell but i see on the map you showed there's quite a few in the UK so after lockdown i am going to have a look and see where the nearest one is to me unfortunately I'm in the Essex area and we're on tier 4 so there's no food places open at the moment but i hope it will be soon . Take care.

    • @Vera_and_Christian
      @Vera_and_Christian  4 года назад +1

      Hello Waldo, I actually saw your video in the first few hours after release. I was stunned to hear you say that you intend to do a diesel conversion. Vera and i talked about this quite a bit. Personally, I think this is not possible unless you are Mr. Dirt Livestyle Nate himself or you have a donor vehicle. The diesel has not much in common with the gasoline version. The LR3 was never available with a diesel V8. If I would live in a country with no or less rules than Germany, I would put the 3.6 liter TDV8 from the Range Rover Sport into the LR3. Both vehicles have the exact same platform. But again, this exceeds my capabilitys. In any case, I will follow your channel and if it is ok with you, I will refer to it in my future content. No matter what you decide to do, I am sure you will be happy with the LR3.

    • @WaldosWorld
      @WaldosWorld 4 года назад

      @@Vera_and_Christian Wow, thank you, I would love a referral! As for the diesel swap, I most likely won't use a Land Rover engine since they're very hard to find here in the US. I'm strongly considering a Mercedes engine, perhaps an OM648, which would be a completely custom swap. I'll probably purchase a donor vehicle at a salvage auction and remove any parts I need like the engine, ECU, wiring harness, etc. It'll be a challenge, but it's definitely possible!

    As soon as you drove up I could see it was a US Base - but at least they drive on the same side of the road as you do. We have a US base near us and they often drive out on the wrong side of the road - someone was killed recently by someone from the base driving on the wrong side of the road - made a big stink that is still going on.

      Hello John, on my visits in Coventry, Castle Brom etc at the various Jaguar plants in my professional live, I allways had a lot of trouble to stay on the "right" side of the road. I wrecked a mirror once on a rental. This is how close it got... The trouble is not in city traffic, it is on the outside of town if nobody else is around. It helps to drive a right hand steering vehicle. in a LH drive vehicle it would be even more difficult.

    • @johnwillett4086
      @johnwillett4086 4 года назад

      @@Vera_and_Christian I know how it can be - I have driven in mainland Europe regularly for over 30 years now. The most dangerious time is first thing in the morning or starting out from a shop or something. Only once did I almost have an accident when pulling out from a stop in the Black Forest and, out of habit, looked the wrong way first and nearly pulled out in fromnt of a big truck. But it was just that once in 30+years. The strange thing is that on US bases in the UK they actually drive on the left like we do in the UK...

    Ah, this video had it all -- repair work, a tour of Germany, and a good laugh. I would have brought you out some Taco Bell if I was on that base! When I lived in the UK (late 1990s) there was no Taco Bell and as an Angeleno I used to miss Mexican food so much that I would dream about Taco Bell (which is not real Mexican food by the way). But having said that, Del Taco is superior to Taco Bell!

    • @Vera_and_Christian

      Hello Allen, thanks as usual. There is the comon opinion that Germans would not like Mexican food and this is why Taco Bell did not migrate over to Germany. That sounds wrong. I bet this would be a good business.

    You didn't miss much at Taco Bell. Eine Bratwurst ist viel besser!

      Ich esse beides gern. Taco Bell war zu unseren US Zeiten mein Lieblings Fast Food Essen, neben Subways. Viele Grüße Vera

    Touch wood or knock on wood is british saying if you fix something and say touch wood should be OK (hopefully) this is made OK if you touch knock on a piece of wood. If you don't touch wood your tempting fate that the repair won't work. One of many superstions.

    "British English" ... you mean "English". Besides Americans also say "touch wood". Which is a superstition not for luck but to offset saying or doing something that tempts fate.
