    Top man & wife, brilliant video. Can I just mention when you say frame it can be taken as meaning chassis so saying body makes more sense. So frustrating to see all that corrosion, if only LR had electroplated the chassis with zinc or had them hot dip galvanised like we started doing with Reliant Robin chassis in the early 70's at the galvanising plant I worked as a driver in Birmingham the early 1970's.

    You guys did an unbelievable job. It looks brilliant and I hope it means the car will last for years to come. It looks better than a new car I’d say. I brought mine to some specialized shop and I have no clue what they did cause now, I have abs error on the dash but not on the gap. I checkd all abs sensors and they are working. Also they told me they removed the back doors (now I have an error on left back door nor closing) and they also remove the rear bumber and stop lights.
    Previously I had a transmission fault, reduced tranction.
    Do you have any ideas what they did wrong and where to start checkin?
    All started with a check engine light that somehow fixed it’s self.
    Any advice, guidance will be much appreciated.

      The chassis and frame got a complete restoration last year, also the engine. We took the entire car appart, each and every bolt was out. But where ever we used the Mercedes stuff back then, it all still looked perfectly protected. 👍🙋‍♀️

    I had a LR3 2008, do u think I can keep it for 5 more year ? I am in UAE here no rust problem also labor and parts are cheap, why I am asking, I had a Nissan Murano 2005 and I tried to keep that and it broke so badly causing continuous major trouble in almost every 1/2 month. Finally I sold it cheaper than the amount I spend in last 1 year of maintenance.

    • @Vera_and_Christian
      @Vera_and_Christian  4 года назад +1

      Rust is not the biggest problem for us either. Engine and electrics are. Do the engine maintenance and oil pump. There is a risk of course but there are many cars with +300t km out there. Hope it works out for you. 😬

    Christian! Please do not just replace the centre bearing! Please replace the prop shaft complete. All the advice that I have heard in the uk is just replacing the bearing does not work and it only lasts a short time again. Do some research on the forums and you will see

    Water based - no odour? that's snake oil - I'm a long time MB owner but what you need for the LR is some proper English WAXOYL. MB have clearly tried to copy this product at EU45 per small can) but don't buy the pressurised cans, get it in liquid 5l bulk can. Pro-tip - next time you cook up a Sunday Roast with potatoes use WAXOYL instead of cooking oil. Tastes proper good, only problem is there is a risk that you will suffer organ failure but the smell is to die for

    Great work as always , 👍👍 , done the same with mine but used dinitrol, know it’s not very cheap but wanted something that would last like what you’ve done with urs and indeed the prep work took the longest amount of time , thanks again for sharing , hope it was ok but put a link here showing a few pics of what I done including some tools that may be useful www.disco3.co.uk/forum/underbodychassis-coating-191752.html, found if u need those plastic clips for the inner wheel arch liners the VW T5 clips fit a treat and a lot cheaper to buy than JLR , also some tubes I made up to inject inside the chassis rails , hope it helps ur goodself and others
    ps , hope ur both keeping safe and well
