  • Today I brought back the oem clip ons that normally come on 600RR's because this is my first ever bike and the previous owner had put on Protaper dirtbike bars for a more upright position defeating the purpose of a 600RR I think. This was my favorite change on the bike so far and has really made the bike a hell of a lot better to ride. The clip ons ride sooo much better and turns are soo much smoother.

Welcome to the Illusive RSX channel, my name is Nick. I own 2 Rsx's a Silver '06 Base 5 speed manual and a Red '05 Type S. My newest addition is a 2004 Honda CBR 600RR and will be making a few videos on it. The silver rsx is my daily while the red rsx is my project. I was gifted my silver rsx for my birthday 3 years ago from my brother. My red rsx I just bought from Florida in July of 2022. We drove 20 hours from Wisconsin to Tampa, Florida and the 20 hours back with the car. With that being said I store my red rsx for the Wisconsin winter to preserve its mint Florida condition. This channel will mainly be about the red rsx but during winter I wont be driving it.

Thats crazy man. Definitely. If your bars are anything like mime the clip ons will definitely be an upgrade. I love mine. Handling and just overall feel of the bike is just way better.

Surely the dirt bike bars have you more in an upright position resulting in more comfortable riding?🤨

The thing with the 600rr and sport bikes in general is the pedals are also the reason why they give the rider an aggressive stance. Like yes I agree that your upper is in a more upright position but, your legs are way back on the bike. If you compare the look of touring bike pedals vs sport bike pedals you will understand. Although I was still kind of comfortable with the dirt bike bars, the clip ons feel way better as I'm on the bike the way it was designed ergonomically.

Greetings. You had me cracking up at the beginning of your video. I have the same issue being 5ft 7in tall on a warm day and a 29-inch inseam rather short legs causing me to be on my tipie toes when stopped on my awesome 4th gen Honda VFR 750. I was considering selling it and buying something lighter with a narrower seat closer to the ground. I am now a fan of the build quality of Honda and was seriousy considering a HondA CBRF or RR of some variant but after seeings your video it looks like that mite not be a good fit for my body type. May I ask How tall are you and what length pants do you wear? Thanks for any help.

Hey man appreciate you watching the video as you are pretty much the same exact size as me. As you mentioned the seat height sucks for people like us but you can always lower the bike. I lowered mine 3 inches in the rear and it made a world of difference

@@illusiversx Helo. I have considered lowering my 4th gen Honda VFR 750 but the kits I have seen only lower about 1.5 inches. Of course, it still will be heavy. How or what lowering kit did you use to lower your Honda 600rr by 3 inches? That is a lot. Also did you shorten the kickstand or lower the front forks? Being on toes never really bothered me much tell more recently after laying down my VFR the first day of purchase when trying to put it on the center stand then again not long after while sittings at a red light and a lady slowly nudged me over from behind. 500+lbs is a lot of waight to deal with on short legs when being pinned over half sidewas. Now being flat-footed seems like good ide.

It may be a case with the 600rr is a more common bike and parts are more common not sure tho. There are tons of kits for the 600rr. I went with the votex link I'm pretty sure. 3 inches is a lot of lower on a bike and yes, you need an adjustable kickstand which also is very easy to find for the 600rr at least. Even if u lower the front forks you need an adjustable kickstand because the kickstand will be too tall with it lowered. I agree I didn't like being on my toes especially just moving the bike from the stand still that was the worst. If there was any sort of incline I'd have to get off the bike. With it being inconvenient with just that it was enough justification for me to lower mine. Although even if u lower it 3 inches you might not be flat footed per say but you will be a lot more comfortable. If you don't end up lowering it everyone I know has gotten used to the high seat height but nobody ik is as short as me
