INFJ here, married to an ISTP. We tend to arrive to the same conclusions, but took dramatically different routes to get there. And we love to dissect our different routes and having deep conversations about practically everything. I love that I can tell him my plans and he's willing and able to get it done for me.
That’s awesome to hear! You just have a very well-developed ISTP if he’s willing to go deep with you in conversation! Most ISTP’s I know dread “deep” conversations and think it’s nonsensical! Wishing you both many happy years!
This is a delightful segment! It does feel like there's a weird sort of harmony and appreciation between infj and istp. I can see how there would be some challenging growth in long term relationships, friendships--and rewarding outcomes.
The analogy I use for the descending order of function strength is manipulating a concrete object. If you are right handed, then your right hand is akin to the dominant function, followed by left hand, right foot then left foot as inferior function.
would like to add that you have the( immature infj )that seemingly only live in their head, wants, thoughts ect.. and has a tough time coming out of that space to make those things happen. then you as you mature as an infj doing those chores,Goals and forward movement become your dominant functions. This all comes with age , so dont worry! and once you come into that level of your mature infj personality , nothing can stand in your way💓
I'm an infj my spouse is an istp, I love to have deep intelligent conversations and he's more surface-level speaking about sports, and work. I wish I could understand how to get him to internally understand that I need him! Lol! to have more intelligent conversation ,even though our education are very different. I know he's capable, but at times I get so extremely frustrated, because I love him to death! and I want to share things with him. I need for him to be interested in what I'm sharing, don't know why I'm venting this?. on here? but if anyone has any advice I would love to hear it! thank you 💓
Thank you for clearing that up, been trying to read cognitive stack before but I don't understand much.. Well, I thought I was a mistyped INFJ and thought I was an ISTP because I'm an engineer. Trying to understand the 1st stack of ISTP, I don't work like that. I got to have a strong reason to do things. Now, that I have a reason to work as an engineer cuz it's what I learned to do, I got to work like an ISTP. That's how my life works lol. A cycle of finding reasons or meaning and imagining things haha.
i am ISTP my best friend is INFJ we argue a lot , but we kinda love that ? IDK i never meet before guy with bottle of wiskey what i can talk with in so much deep level about stupid stuff or important things or best of how world works . i am pissed because he is 60% right but ISTPs, honestly we are stuborn on things, thats it and ende ! xD ask your self where you can remind/retthink our self how things work ? or rly why it is like this(SOCIALIZING)? INFJ are best even they are touchy feels, and scarred sassys , andthey like doorslams ppls a lot unreasonable imo. give them try fellows you will be suprised how good undertanding not judging conversation you can have.
I still can't say if I am an INFJ or an ISTP. I thought I was an INFJ for like 3 years because I care about others' emotions since mines were supressed so much by my family (my mother is INTP and my father an ISTP) but I am a very crafty person wich is clearly not an INFJ thing. I love physical activities and to understand how things work but I can feel well other people's emotions and if I want to, I know how to behave so I can make them feel at ease (yhea, it's like saying that I know how to manipulate people, so to speak). I had depression and anxiety for a long time and I behaved more like a crafty INFJ. I was daydreaming a lot so I could escape reality. Now I still am some kind of that INFJ, but I am less emotional. I have to add that I am a serious religious people so that influences my behavior too. I hope I can figure things out by watching your videos or you can help me with some opinions. I do research about this topic for like a month and I really wanna get to a conclusion. Need to add that I am quite a tomboy.
INFJ’s can absolutely be crafty! Even though we have inferior Se, we still have the desire to create. And ISTP’s can have very well-developed Fe. Have you also considered the INFP personality type? They’re also empaths and are stereotypically very artistic.
@@infjism2718, thank you for the answer! I am clearly not an INFP because I am not so deep (emotionally speaking) - I tend to ignore my emotions by being productive but I don't have problems with them after; and about my artistic side.. well.. I focus more on that kind of things you can use in daily life, like crafting some little furniture (bookshelfs, a more complex pencil box) or, sometimes, even working with electric wires. I am not creative like writing a poem or a very interesting story. And I have a dark sense of humour that I use pretty often. I think it's quite common for INFJ and ISTP not to show their.. not so bright emotions.
INFJ here. I'm a very crafty person, and tend to make more practical things than grandiose things, and love physical activities that ground me back to my body (and out of my head). My husband is ISTP and the biggest differences I found so far between us is how we think about people and everyday life. He thinks people are stupid by and large, and I think they're misinformed. He's impatient with being inconvenienced and I understand that we're all in our own worlds. It can boil down to if you're a planner (INFJ) or if you react to the moment (ISTP). A strategic planner or a battlefield tactician. And INFJs have a very, very dark sense of humor.
Don't look at it as being more or less crafty of a person versus another, instead look at your behavior with others and also how you communicate and don't be afraid to ask others especially those who actually know you on what they're personal thoughts are about you. Se in the second slot doesn't always mean that you're hands on "literally" but instead it means hands on in moment which just means you can be more in the moment initially as a ISTP or less initially like that of INFJ's. Se is not about the physical literally but more about the action in itself. ISTP's and INFJ's are quite similar however how you display and how others recieve your Fe is a clear between the two. ISTP's have a much harder time than INFJ's like the one you see here in this video. The Fe was when I realized I wasn't a INFJ but an ISTP. They are not the same at all when using this function. Hope this helps because it's true. As a ISTP I care greatly for other's especially in my family amd friends but my wife constantly has to remind me that I have to do a much better job expressing myself and showing that I care even though I think I do.
@@RRRsimracing, thank you! I studied the cognitive functions way more after that. Turns out I am an ISTP. The best way to take this kind of relationship is with a good dose of humor! Otherwise, it surely can be painful!
