Two questions. The version of your controller is 104889F right? It's the last version I think. Also, this revision doesn't come with a manual/handbook as the older versions? I ask this because that's what I noted when I opened the box of my recently bought controller.
Got it back in 2017 when Switch was released. Still going strong. Otherwise got all variants - Splatoon 2, Xenoblade 2, Smash Bros and the 2x Monster Hunter. (yes I'm collector) To sync - 2 easy steps - 1. Change grip order... 2. Click and hold the sync button... that's all. You don't need any cables or TV modes...
The Pro Controllers actually are much better than the joycons in terms of drift. None of mine have ever gotten any and the reports of those who do are far fewer

Not gonna lie the pro controller is the best feeling I've ever had in my experience, I highly recommend buying this.
Mine was 80$ with shipping but they were all sold out everywhere besides Amazon. Was it worth it?

No
Some do. I had to exchange mine about 10 times to get one without joycon drift. Pretty annoying if I do say so myself.
