As a left-handed person, if the joy-cons can be used as a mouse, I see the optical sensor on the left joy-con as an absolute win. I am always forced to use my right hand because they rarely make left-handed mice

@@pokiblue5870what was different between the way the NES and SNES was played? What was different between the way the N64 and GameCube was played? Back in the day something like having a second joystick on a controller was innovation, now it’s standard. At this point, there’s not many ways to innovate outside of making a console more powerful, or making some aspect better(Hall effect joysticks, better vibration).
It's likely that all of the Labo games will be considered "incompatible". The games may still work, but they all use specific joycon functions and rely on the Switch 1 joycon size to fit in the peripherals.
I like to believe that DK look alike is actually Donkey Kong Junior :D It looks closer to the original SNES sprite than it does DK in any iteration. Maybe DK Jr is just older
But why would they show a more obscure character in this little preview of Mario Kart and not include Donkey Kong? Pretty sure it's a redesigned Donkey, like to match the movie version.
No guys, it's just DK with a different art style. He looks like DK in the movie and looks much more similar to classic DK in the older 3D games- much like the other characters look like classic designs Y'all are all way way way way way overthinking it

I don't really see what's particularly exciting here, it's visually just a bit bigger Switch. Even the game they choose to reveal looks too samey, I love MK but if I didn't take the time to really look at the models I would have thought it was MK8 again.
I have a steam deck, but for me they’re incomparable systems. People don’t buy Nintendo for their power, but for their games. Also I didn’t ever get a Switch 1, so going and replaying the old switch games I’ve always wanted to finish, aswell as the new, is very exciting for me
When my son is old enough to use one of these, I'll get to experience it (when he wants to co-op) as someone who hasn't played a Nintendo game in almost 20 years. I'm just hoping you can jailbreak these.
Yes you are right They are two different things especially since that's a PC handheld and this is a console. Steam deck also uses x86 (IDK if you know what that is) but x86 systems don't have good battery life or efficiency on battery
I believe the the C button stands for “cast” so people can play on the TV using the tablet and bring back some of those Wii U-like features for some games when mirror mode isn’t being used.
He said that too and honestly, that’d be an awesome idea. Follows along with their universal IP plan because now there’s no previous system the Switch can’t play. (Also allowing them to go harder on piracy and emulation if they do bring all platforms to the Switch)
@@mroscar7474I just made the same comment a few moments ago about bringing the other systems into compatibility with the Switch 2. I really hope we get a new eShop.
doesn't that defeat the purpose and function of a dock? and why would you need a button- that would be a menu thing not a something you need to do quickly with a button
@@MrColin263 It gives the player options which isn't a bad thing. The Wii U had a button to switch the screens a game was playing on so I would expect something similar here.
Honestly just having a whole new console with all these new dates and surprises to look forward to is just really exciting on its own. Feels like we’re back in 2017 again.
Not really. The switch reveal trailer was way more hype than this one. Heaps of cool features and a catchy tune it was just what we all needed! Especially after the Wii u era.
@@Ful-OGoldI do agree, the trailer felt way more corporate to me, like something apple would make, I have a feeling the console is going to end up like the wii u.
Because the original Switch reveal trailer needed to make a big impact to get the idea across of what was a completely never seen before concept back in 2017. Now in 2025 when the concept is already well established and known by the mainstream you just need to tell people "This is the next Switch, it is what you're familiar with but improved". It also very deliberately is avoiding the confusion that the Wii U had of not making it clear that it was a new console where people thought it was some kind of tablet Add-On to the normal Wii. Slapping that big "2" on the title and showing that it is bigger with some enhancements here and there makes it crystal clear this is not an Add-On it is a successor.
I believe the shape of the kickstand is purposeful to accommodate peripherals to plug into the top USB-C port and attach to the back…like a battery pack and *possibly second screen. Also-nice video Wulff den!
If they have a Mario Maker 3, this is definitely a really good system for drawing while the switch is docked, hell it's arguably better than the touch screen. Plus just generally a lot of games could make very good use of a mouse, I could see fps games using it.
There are physical slips to hold the ganmepads just in case anyone is wondering. It's not held on simply by magnetic force - if magnets are in there, it's to stop them from wiggling, creaking and making clicky sounds like the old ones.
I didn’t think they would actually just call it switch 2, but I imagine they’re trying to avoid the Wii U problem of consumers thinking it is just an add-on. Surely calling it switch 2 will make it clear that it is the sequel
They also just wanted to make sure people know it's the next gen Switch and not a revision like the OLED model where the home screen, menus, software, etc. are all the same. There are already like 4 versions of Switch 1, they need people to know this is a whole new platform with it's own exclusive games and features.
While it would be cool, its just not very reasonable, HDR in small form factors usually ends up with a very low peak brightness and most games or movies are mastered at 1000 nits brightness, so if we only get, lets say 500 nits, its just not that much of a difference and the wow effect hdr is supposed to have just doesnt deliver
I am most excited about the mouse capabilities in the joy-cons. You could play real-time-strategy games, first-person shooters, ect. Plus, making levels in Mario Maker when the Switch 2 is docked won't feel like purgatory anymore!
@@thesuperchallengebros Doom on Xbox doesn’t have mouse support because Bethesda. Even if Switch as a platform has mouse support, i expect game developers to mess this up
@@PavelShevchuk Definitely either developers will mess it up, OR they just don't bother with it at all. Kinda like how the PS5's dualsense controller, barely any games aside from first party games will utilize immersive haptics and adaptive triggers.
Looks like Nintendo basically addressed all the issues with the first switch and made it the most versatile and port friendly system ever. The craziest thing to think about is this also means a spiritual continuation and support for the original switch which would probably make the longest running console in history. Wild lol
Not really. The next gen Xboxs run the exact same software and it's still a completely different console. This will have back compatible but it's definitely a completely different system
Probably the longest running in Nintendo history that’s for sure. If what the other dude is saying about the XBox being essentially the same then I guess that’s the longest running.
One very cool thing that people have spotted in the mario kart part is a glowing yellow thingy when there are a lot of the racers, and many people think that it's a desert wonder seed! Which makes a lot of sense with mario looking more similar to his wonder design.
It may feel like a long time between now and April 2nd, but thats 3 days less than the time between the first look of the original Switch and its full blowout event in January 2017
At least we've seen more games and knew what level of game to expect (Skyrim) in the switch reveal, this time we only saw a couple seconds of Mario Kart 9 which isn't exactly a "system seller" worth paying $400 for
@@grantnp Mario Kart 8 isn't the game that people bought the original Switch for, it was BOTW. A new Zelda or 3D Mario would be a game that would male the people want to buy a Switch 2, not Mario Kart 9. Strong launch titles are incredibly important for a systems success
I love how I was right about it being called Switch 2 all along. Meanwhile, you have people saying it should be called Super Nintendo Switch, like the New Nintendo 3DS. I'm glad people like that aren't in charge of marketing. Oh man.
The square on the right controller is the button that you press to bring up settings for performance mode or if you want more battery life then battery mode or balanced mode for performance and battery life.
from frame stepping the video I was able to identify: Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Peach, Toad, DK, Yoshi, Daisy, Wario, Luna, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, Toadette, Waluigi, Pauline, Birdo, King Boo, Shyguy. There's a few that I can't make out at all, but I'm guessing MK9 will have 24 player support, as that's the number of start spots at the start line.
Being late to the party pays off again! But for real, I love backwards compatibility, especially in an era where people are increasingly concerned with game preservation (my logic being the longer a game is actively playable on one or more supported consoles, and the more consoles a game is available on period, the easier it is to preserve; BoTW is now available on three of them, for example, counting the Wii U)
0:23 and this is why I tried my absolute BEST to avoid the leaks. Therefore, I was presently surprised, and I appreciate all of the improvements so far
People saying that the Steam Deck is going to ruin the Switch 2 are definitely overestimating the install base of that device. The Steam Deck is a cool device, but yeah, it has only sold about 5-10 million units worldwide since launch I believe, whereas the Switch has sold nearly 150 million. The Steam Deck is not taking a bite out of the Switch's success at all, it serves a different audience completely, and its a niche audience. And there's nothing wrong with that, the Steam Deck was not meant to compete with the Switch, Valve made it abundantly clear that was not their goal. Valve's entire purpose with the Steam Deck was to make PC gaming more accessible. To them, selling roughly 5-10 million is a big win when it would be a massive failure for Nintendo. Valve created a device that serves their niche nicely, and it's making them a nice bit of extra money. I think a lot of people in this community misunderstand what the draw of the Switch really is for the mainstream. To people in our community, the draw is the ability to play big AAA games on the go as well as at home. And while that is a draw for plenty in the mainstream as well, the versatility of the Switch often gets overlooked. It's not just the fact that it's portable, it's the fact that it's extremely versatile that people miss. Handheld and docked are great options, but there's also tabletop play, the fact that the controller detach and can be used to play in various different ways. The kind of versatility the Switch has that is absent in mobile devices without extra peripherals, AND it has the big name AAA games as well as Nintendo's exclusives. This kind of versatility is something the Steam Deck lacks, since that device is squarely focused on handheld and TV play, since the controllers don't detach and have extra features. These options may not seem like much, as I am sure most people here don't use anything other than handheld and TV modes, but they do get used a ton by mainstream audiences. The fact that there are so many options to playing games on Switch makes it such a useful entertainment device to have around. And now they are adding the ability to use the joycons like computer mice? Yeah, that opens up A LOT of possibilities for games like first-person shooters, RTS games, and even MMO's that all work significantly better with a mouse in hand. This just enhances the versatility of the hardware! A kind of versatility that, again, handheld PC's simply don't have, since they give up versatility for having more raw horsepower (the Lenovo Legion Go is the primary exception to this). I've lost count of how many times my friends and family are together to play games, and we boot up the Switch, and the joycons and pro-controllers get passed around to ensure everyone gets to play. Some people have pro-controllers, some have two joycons, some have only one joycon. Everyone gets to play due to the versatility this system has. EDIT: I didn't expect this post to blow up like this, thank you! But to add some context, I didn't want to give off the idea that Steam Deck sold exactly 10 million units. I don't really know how accurate that number is at all, it is simply the number I have heard. It's sales numbers are likely extremely different. The main point here was the Steam Deck is not selling the massive numbers that the Switch has sold, furthering the point that they each serve a different audience.
10 million is generous, its probably sold 5. its impressive considering its order only and not advertised but nowhere near the switch. also imo it just isnt good as a handheld due to how large it is and how unintuitive the OS is.
I ain't reading that but overall yes the switch sold more but overall everyone loves Steam and has been using it for so long a console cannot outlast it's great service.
The last official number of Steam Deck sold is in "the multiple millions" I sincerely doubt it'd even reach 5M units sold. People simply don't know how niche handheld PCs are.
I feel like the hardware and games together is the main reason Nintendo is so profitable. If they didn’t have the switch 2 and became like sega, then there would be much less hype for their games.
I hope that they allow current Switch’s to be used as separate controllers on the 2 for Co-op. Like how you could use a 3ds as a controller on the Wii-U for smash
I’m fairly positive they will. They know tons of people have extra joy cons and they released an official charging dock 7 years after launch a few months ago. Now why would they do that unless they know that people are gonna need a way to charge their joycons now that they won’t fit on the switch 2. Sure there’s been 3rd party options, but an official one cements the idea that these can continue to be in use going forward
Highly doubt it. They will sell the SW2 controllers separate, and promote that. They might allow the SW2 controllers to connect to the SW1. Kind of like what Sony did with the PS4 and PS4 in terms of controller support. TL:DR - It's all about money. Accessories do bring in nice profits and revenue.
@@emptytrashben2375there were also closed door demo some time last year with industry insiders getting to see Zelda played at a higher fidelity/performance. Don’t remember if it was BOTW or TOTK
Some sound speculations: C button could be a Chat or Community button, meaning finally we get some actual proper online services. Dock is just a dock. No extra hardware inside for 'casting'. June/July release schedule.
Think about it. Casting would be a very natural progression from the Wii U being a prototype. I completely expect the Switch 2 to have a multi-screen option.
I mean, while I never broke the rails themselves I basically wore them out on both the joycons and the switch. As I used them more and more heavily the joycons would just slide back out if I tried to play in handheld mode, and eventually one side of my switch couldn’t register a joycon as connected anymore. It could charge the joycon, and would register the joycon as connected via bluetooth, but that’s it. I wasn’t able to play in handheld mode again until I got the crkd controller, since it keeps the switch in handheld mode while still using a wired connection. To be fair, I’m not the gentlest with my things, but I’m also not rough with them the way I was when I was a kid. And like you said, the rails are definitely less of a fail point than the ds hinges, which I absolutely managed to break as a kid or even the 3ds hinges, which I didn’t break but I clearly did something to because they’re not quite right anymore.
I'm pretty gentle with my consoles and my switch's rails have slowly worn down over time too. They aren't completely bonked on handheld but they're starting to have issues connecting while charging and registering a bit. I think they're just a flaw in design for long term use tbh. My joycons def struggle with clicking into my joycon grip tho.
I wanted to comment that my friend has a switch where the right joy-con rail is pretty much gone. Lol. it doesn't work with any other joy-con except the one that it originally came with. And it slides out so easy without even touching the button. 😂 They are definitely a point of failure if you're not careful.
8:44 That is absolutely a point of failure. My son dropped his switch once and I had to buy replacement pieces for the clips that hold it in. And on my OLED switch one of my older joycons just stopped holding on at some point. The plastic they use there is incredibly soft. I would assume it is so the switch rails themselves do not break when it is dropped so the failure point falls onto the joycon instead of the switch unit.
So imagine you use the left joycon for the stick and movement, and the right one as a mouse for aiming? Could be very close to a mouse and keyboard for shooters
Not sure what other games won't be compatible, but for sure not Labo, since the OLED wasn't with Labo either. Maybe not games with an IR sensor either, since the new joycon don't seem to have an IR sensor.
Supposedly it's going to have a regular LCD screen instead OLED from what it was leaked. Maybe those 2 SKUs are not for different colors but for a cheaper LCD model to not pass the 349-399 barrier and a more expensive OLED model?
I don't think the Joy-Cons on the Switch 2 will attach with magnets. If you look at some of the shots that show the top and bottom of the new rails, you'll see a sort of recessed area that looks like a spot for a clip to go in. And when showing the mouse movement, you can see on the top of at least the right grip, it looks like a sort of 'lock', much like how the current Joy-Con grips have locks on the bottom where the wrist strap comes out. I think the attachment is clips, with the main difference from the first generation of Joy-Cons being, instead of the clips residing inside the Joy-Cons, and release button pulling them inwards so you can take them off; the clips will be on everything these new Joy-Cons would go into, and the release button on these Joy-Cons are connected to something in the top and bottom of the new rail to push the clips, or the locks on the new wrist straps, out of those recessed areas, to take them off. Also, if these were in with magnets, if they design it well, they wouldn't necessarily need to have a release button to take the Joy-Cons off, which are shown very clearly under the triggers.
Switch 1 reveal - October Switch 1 in person - January (3 months later) Switch 1 release - March (5 months later) Switch 2 reveal - January Switch 2 in person - April (3 months later) Switch 2 release - July? (5 months later)
i don't believe the switch reveal trailer showed the neon joy-con, so we didn't know about them until the january presentation. this could be another case of that where we won't know until the april direct how many skus they'll release
I really don't think the leaks killed any of the hype because you still would've said "it looks just like the original switch" regardless of being leaked about the appearance first or not. It's not like this would've blown your mind if you hadn't seen the leaks first so c'mon man.
100% agreed. Its cool to have a beefed up switch but still. It looks nearly identical and thats quite boring in my personal view. Nintendo were great innovators once but now it seems they are playing it safe. Totk was basically a botw dlc so i think they need to step up a bit more.
@@arkiststark But all I really want is a beefed up Switch. I got a Switch day 1, but I'm slow to move on from games, still playing Breath of the Wild, Smash Ultimate, Super Mario Maker 2, and a ton of other games that came out several years ago. I really just want a 1080P screen on the system and bigger Joy-Cons with softer button clicks (like the Switch Lite buttons). Other than that I'm far from being done with the Switch. I just want a better experience with essentially the same "console."
Am I the only one who didn't think that was a finish at 1:35 ? I just thought it was showing it now had a full metal chassis instead of plastic like the original Switch
The only thing I'm nervous about is that kickstand. However, my Switch lives in its dock, I assume I'll do the same thing with the Switch 2, if I get one, so I'm not toooooo nervous about a flimsy kickstand. I have a regular Switch, and the kickstand there isn't great, this looks better in that aspect.
Kickstand will be fine. Think about how flimsy the OG stand was. This looks worse than the OLED stand, but still a million times better than the original. Probably made of metal like the OLED stand as well.
8:50 There was reports that people put their joycons on backwards when the switch first came out, and got their joycons stuck because they put them on incorrectly
i remember that. i don’t even know how you do that. but i think the port where the joycons attach will be fine but people like that will find a way to break it
Indeed the leak did damage to the release event, but to be honest, such little over 2 minutes movie should be shown long time ago, not months after sending prototypes and other info to accessories manufacturers.
I agree they should have shown it sooner, but they also wanted to squeeze one more holiday season out of the Switch 1. I think if the mainstream people who don't follow leaks knew before/during the holidays that the Switch 2 was immenite, not as many would have bought Switch 1s as a gift
8:11 I think it does though? If you look at the bottom of the right joy-con specifically, you can see it has a rounded section on the bottom. It looks more flush and blends in more than it does on the original, but it seems to very obviously be there IMO. But yeah, I imagine any games that used accessories won’t be compatible. Ring Fit and Labo relied very heavily on the dimensions of the switch and joy-cons. So much so that the Switch OLED isn’t able to be slotted into a lot of the Labo contraptions.
Everyone complaining about the leaks ruining the reveal makes me glad that I (unintentionally) avoided every single leak. I was bouncing off the walls with excitement when I saw the reveal, it was all brand new information to me. It was great.
The only games that I can think of that wouldn't be forwards compatible would be Ring Fit Adventure and Nintendo Labo for the different-sized joycons. Nothing else really comes to mind.
Well yes it’s the super famicom buttons! But I agree haha I love my new 3ds XL the buttons letters are colors but the new 3ds smaller version the whole button is colored
The new form factor will make peripherals like Labo or ring fit not compatible and as you said, the potentially missing IR sensor games, otherwise i cant see a reason most software wont work just fine.
I am thankful I held off from getting a Steam Deck. I wanted one for playing Elden Ring, Watch Dogs 2, Final Fantasy 13, and other old games portably, but Elden Ring being rumored as coming to Switch 2 is good enough for me to reconsider. I’ll just be praying that those games get ported over. I need those portable.
8:38 That is a point of failure. The right joycon that came with my OLED slips out spontaneously & often. I haven't played it in handheld mode in ages. I play with the joycons detached instead.
Bob, continue to temper expectations as it provides realistic expectations - framing handhelds in context with what they can really do allows us to make better choices especially when you have limited spending power.
That doesn't have to be DK in the trailer for Mario Kart 9, it could also be DK Jr. like in the original Mario Kart. Even though, he is not wearing a white shirt, but who the hell knows right? Nintendo be weird.
The dpad being separate buttons is one of the strongest things about the joycons. No other system is like that(playstation is connected under the faceplate) and it makes it way harder to actually hit the 4 cardinals when theyre connected.
My least favorite part of the design honestly. In the future when we inevitably get colored joycons it’s going to be kinda weird to have mismatched colors inside the console. Not that you will see it but it’s just the point.
Just bc it’s hollow not a full rectangle doesn’t mean it’s flimsy. My phone case had a hollow circular stand on the back and it doesn’t feel flimsy at all. It’s all about the hinge and I doubt Nintendo would go backwards in terms of durability/stability
Incorrect. OG Switch kickstand was flimsy because it was tiny, off to one side and made of plastic! Switch OLED kickstand was solid because it covered the length of the console and was made of metal. The Switch 2 kickstand is clearly also made of metal and is the entire length of the console. A different style sure, but that doesn't automatically make it flimsy!
@@nexuspalkia Nah, he said the same thing in an another video. I corrected him back then. If he'd read it, he would have said "biggest Switch game from Nintendo" now 🤓🤌
I do wish that the rumors that they were going to color the buttons in rainbow had come true, the color buttons of the super Nintendo are just so nice.
Pretty sure they're just keeping it minimal and showing that it's connected to the TV. I don't think I saw any other cords coming from the back of the TV either.
Yes, buttt, 2 USB C ports is very interesting to me. You can dock it and also plug in the top USB C port to an additional monitor or add other accessories or something?
Those joycon straps have a recessed space where the SL an SR are positioned. This tells me that you can play single joycon with retro games (or games that support it) without the strap and that pressing those buttons should be alot easier. Since the strap adds NOTHING to make it easier to press; that means the straps are EXCLUSIVELY for mouse support. I actually am really looking foward to being able to use them as PC mice and it makes me more likely to use single joycon WAAAYY more than I do now. They just look like they will be more comfortable and work better in that set up. ALSO, anyone concerned about those little chip pieces on the side that connect the joycons, must have never used Genesis or SNES carts, as it is the same thing but in reverse and smaller. You would have to intentionally be trying to break it with a tool in order to do so.
so here’s a crazy thought - have you ever noticed how some people just seem to have a magnetic energy about them, like they attract good things without even trying? i asked a few friends what changed, and almost all of them mentioned reading vibrations of manifestation by alex lane. at first, i thought they were just being dramatic, but after seeing how they’ve been changing the way they approach life, i’m starting to get it. it’s not about wishing for things to happen; it’s about aligning your energy with what you really want and trusting that things will follow. these friends of mine are more grounded, more confident, and honestly, they seem to be attracting the right people and opportunities into their lives. i’m not saying it’s the solution to everything, but if you’ve ever felt disconnected or like things aren’t flowing the way you want, it could be worth a shot. you might just start attracting the right things into your life too.
My bet that the "C" button is a little tiny track pad like the steam deck. It's not big enough for precision mouse movement, but just big enough for flick style mechanics. Like you roll a ball over some table by flicking it to give it some initial acceleration
The usb-c connector at the bottom of the switch dock is on a pivot and two springs as strain relief. I'm sure they did something similar for the controller connectors here.
Nintendo Point and Click/Adventure games, like Detective Pikachu or Ace Attorney, with mouse/cursor support its a reaaaally good idea, even indie games like Word Of Horror and Balatro that were made with mouse as primary input are going to benefit from the new joycons, I'm sold
ig it is for the design and to be able to use left joycon as a second controller with proper buttons and not dpad, you lose normal d pad but gain second controller
I like what I see so far! It ticked all my boxes, a little bigger, backwards compatibility, and more power. I think the mouse feature is to allow more versatility on PC games they’ve emulated on the switch.
Everyone complaining (not necessarily here) about it being too similar to the original Switch makes no sense to me. I get that Nintendo usually goes big on new flashy gimmick’s, but it’s only Nintendo that does that. No one complains that the new PS or Xbox is just an upgraded version of its predecessor, because that’d be really freaking stupid to complain about. I’m personally happy they didn’t make something completely different and potentially less fun, and just improved on what was already arguably the best Nintendo console ever.
I'm pretty sure he means premium in terms of build quality, not power (which I'd still doubt considering how notoriously cheap Nintendo is with their hardware). You can make a high quality device with lower specs. We know based on its chipset that the Switch 2 is only a bit stronger than the Steam Deck, and significantly weaker than the new AI9 chips. But, considering that Nintendo always heavily underclocks their devices to improve battery life and thermals, it'll probably have near parity with deck and just be boosted by frame gen. IMO that is a terrible place to start for a console that is supposed to last 6+ years, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
Hey man! Good to see you still on RUclips! I started waching years ago, and your videos on the Switch that I showed my parents convinced them to buy me one for Christmas! I can't wait for more vids! ❤
The hinge on my switch doesn't break, but the mechanism to keep the joycon locked into the switch are worn down enough where i can just push up on them a little and they'll disconnect. They also don't have the best contact with the switch. Getting new joycons fixed that tho

YUP!
It actually looks A LOT like how DK looks on the Super Mario Bros. Movie.
But why would they show a more obscure character in this little preview of Mario Kart and not include Donkey Kong? Pretty sure it's a redesigned Donkey, like to match the movie version.
I was thinking the same thing
No guys, it's just DK with a different art style. He looks like DK in the movie and looks much more similar to classic DK in the older 3D games- much like the other characters look like classic designs

I have a steam deck, but for me they’re incomparable systems. People don’t buy Nintendo for their power, but for their games. Also I didn’t ever get a Switch 1, so going and replaying the old switch games I’ve always wanted to finish, aswell as the new, is very exciting for me

@@Ful-OGoldi truly believe that leakers have ruined the hype
Couldn’t we use the top USB-C port to charge the console as well? That’d be a welcome addition.

Should've called it the Switch Also, to avoid confusion
They also just wanted to make sure people know it's the next gen Switch and not a revision like the OLED model where the home screen, menus, software, etc. are all the same. There are already like 4 versions of Switch 1, they need people to know this is a whole new platform with it's own exclusive games and features.
My personal hope is that they have HDR for the screen. I mostly play in handheld, so I think it'll be a major addition.
We just need an OLED

But for real, I love backwards compatibility, especially in an era where people are increasingly concerned with game preservation (my logic being the longer a game is actively playable on one or more supported consoles, and the more consoles a game is available on period, the easier it is to preserve; BoTW is now available on three of them, for example, counting the Wii U)

Same, lol!
I didn't even know there were leaks and the switch 2 was suspected to be released soon
Steam deck is nowhere near 10 million units
I ain't reading that but overall yes the switch sold more but overall everyone loves Steam and has been using it for so long a console cannot outlast it's great service.
The last official number of Steam Deck sold is in "the multiple millions" I sincerely doubt it'd even reach 5M units sold.
People simply don't know how niche handheld PCs are.
I DIDN’T READ THIS
I feel like the hardware and games together is the main reason Nintendo is so profitable.
@ very true, I’m also hoping they allow for Switch lite’s as that’s what I have and don’t see myself upgrading anytime soon.

Cursor mode is my guess
I like how they knew we saw the leaks and did an immediate comparison so you know there is an actual difference in hardware design
I've gotten to the point where I'll have to re slide my joycons every 30 minutes or so because it'll stop registering that they're connected
Seems Nintendo wanted to fix it and I think the NSW1 should have had steel rails on both sides of the connection anyway.
It’s called buying a case bud
@ We did. It kinda looked like one of the cases you get on a kids Kindle. If you drop it right on the edge there is still an impact.
@@typear9822 Same thing happened to my OLED joycon without ever dropping it. And it’s in a case when not docked and not in use.
I won't be surprised if the few Switch games that the Switch 2 won't support will be stuff like Labo & Ring Fit Adventure.

I say a leak on twitter the did
I think the top usb will also be for a camera peripheral to go along with what looks like a microphone near the cartridge slot
Nintendo Switch 2: Electric Boogaloo
The gang gets the switch 2
I like the separate buttons on the not d-pad. I'm happy they brought that back.
The only thing im upset about so far is the flimsy kick stand. Perhaps they did that so that they can sell a revised version in a few years
it's only flimsy in your mind.
If thats a mouse sensor, there will be a air hockey game where you play on the table and console in the middle 100%
11:53 well, ackchually it's Xenoblade Chronicles X with 22,7GB for WiiU☝️🤓
he's talking about the switch I'm pretty sure...
@@nexuspalkia Nah, he said the same thing in an another video.
I corrected him back then.
If he'd read it, he would have said "biggest Switch game from Nintendo" now
🤓🤌
I do wish that the rumors that they were going to color the buttons in rainbow had come true, the color buttons of the super Nintendo are just so nice.
4:37 maybe because some people are left handed?
16:40 IVE BEEN SAYING THAT TOO ITS SUCH AN UPGRADE THANK YOU BRO 😭😭😭
I was looking forward to you talking about switch 2!! Glad I didn't have to wait till Tuesday next week.
9:33 that explains every person that is mad at the switch 2 RN, you're gonna buy it anyways
It's probably just minimalism advertising and me nitpicking, but there's only one cord coming out of the dock..
Pretty sure they're just keeping it minimal and showing that it's connected to the TV. I don't think I saw any other cords coming from the back of the TV either.
Yeah you’re probably right 😅 but one could hope for something fun like display casting, etc.
6:07 I can confirm to you that is indeed Mario Kart 9 due to the fact that the art style is different from 8
It could be Mario Kart 10(counting Tour), 11(counting Live) or 14 (counting the GP arcade games)
That's Mario Kart World Tour
The mario kart tour game on phone is 💩 idk wtf that trash 🗑 is 🙄
@@SAgreatn Mario Kart 10 since Nintendo considers Tour as 9 (Mainline game)
Dang. RIP my Hori split pads
so here’s a crazy thought - have you ever noticed how some people just seem to have a magnetic energy about them, like they attract good things without even trying? i asked a few friends what changed, and almost all of them mentioned reading vibrations of manifestation by alex lane. at first, i thought they were just being dramatic, but after seeing how they’ve been changing the way they approach life, i’m starting to get it. it’s not about wishing for things to happen; it’s about aligning your energy with what you really want and trusting that things will follow. these friends of mine are more grounded, more confident, and honestly, they seem to be attracting the right people and opportunities into their lives. i’m not saying it’s the solution to everything, but if you’ve ever felt disconnected or like things aren’t flowing the way you want, it could be worth a shot. you might just start attracting the right things into your life too.
My bet that the "C" button is a little tiny track pad like the steam deck. It's not big enough for precision mouse movement, but just big enough for flick style mechanics. Like you roll a ball over some table by flicking it to give it some initial acceleration
i realized they didnt show a micro sd card slot at all...
It might be somewhere under the back kickstand, just like in the current Switch
Why would they show that.
you can barely tell, but you can see it on the right side of the back when they show the kickstand
@@stormhoughtwhy not? It'll be great to know if it does have it or not
@@teneesh3376 because it most definitely will lol. Nintendo has had storage expansions on their consoles since the GameCube
The usb-c connector at the bottom of the switch dock is on a pivot and two springs as strain relief. I'm sure they did something similar for the controller connectors here.
Well we got Mario kart 9 gameplay before GTA 6 (sorry for making the joke)
Both sequels of ported games from over a decade ago, both among the best selling games ever. Same vibe, so worth mentioning honestly
Nintendo needs to finally give us D-PAD top left joycon options so we can actually play retro games. They invented the D-Pad for gods sake, use it!
I agree 100%
I totally agree!
@ Justice for the D-PAD
I completely concur!
ig it is for the design and to be able to use left joycon as a second controller with proper buttons and not dpad, you lose normal d pad but gain second controller
I like what I see so far! It ticked all my boxes, a little bigger, backwards compatibility, and more power. I think the mouse feature is to allow more versatility on PC games they’ve emulated on the switch.
BRO THE ANNOUNCEMENT HAS BEEN OUT FOR 8 HOURS!!! HOW DID BRO MAKE THIS SO FAST??
He had 8 hours to walk into the room and shoot a video that probably took 30 minutes to record at most, then an hour to edit maybe... Plenty of time.
Lots of people did a video about it not even 30 minutes after the annoucement.
'It's a Premium piece of tech'
'This will not be as powerful as a lot of the pc handhelds'
Pick one.
The freaking "c" button' s function is to switch between controller and mouse modes. That's it.
There is a mouse sensor in both controller, only having one button to activate it doesnt make sense
I doubt it.
The hinge on my switch doesn't break, but the mechanism to keep the joycon locked into the switch are worn down enough where i can just push up on them a little and they'll disconnect. They also don't have the best contact with the switch. Getting new joycons fixed that tho
