This is probably one of the best pieces of music Murray Gold ever composed. So tragic, emotional, and just accentuated an already depressingly sad scene from the show.

This is possibly the most heart-breakingly, hauntingly beautiful piece of music ever written.

I first started to love this melody when I found out that the beat that goes through the whole song, is the sound of Rose's heart.

I remember when i first heard this in doomsday. The realised i'd heard it before when she first entered the TARDIS. Made me cry when i realised it was the same.
this theme is nice in a full-circley kinda way, played first quietly in the background the first time Rose enters the Tardis with Eccleston, rewatch it if you dont believe me :P
why is hard to watch or listen to this Doomsday song? so heart breaking!!!

It really shows how much music can do, such a shame series 11 lost Murray Gold. I felt like Murray Gold was the only consistent person within the revived show
Something I hadn't realised until recently but this music is even present in 2005's 'Rose'. Listen to when Rose goes into the TARDIS for the first time.
The bond between Rose and 10 was the most emotional out of all the pairs. It was a bond like no other, which was why it was so damn sad.

My favorite piece of doctor who music, reduces me to tears every time, truly a credit to Murray Gold! (Rose was the best, but maybe that's cos I'm so drippy and sentimental!)
I just wanted to drop my face onto my keyboard and just sob my eyes out. This song was the first song I heard, right after a close friend died. He died in my arms...

Doomsday was the episode that turned Doctor Who from a good show to an unforgettable show for me, and it was solely because of the heartbreaking ending. After that, not only was David Tennent MY Doctor, but Doctor Who was MY show.
My family is watching the episode right now and they are on the beach.
This music kills me every time... it's just so powerful.. I can't take it.

This piece of music is amazing, greatly written.
Never fails to make me cry, it's such a banger.
I remember when i had the 50th anniversary murray gold CD box set and this song would come on. It jad been years since I've seen Doomsday at that point so i couldn't remember where in Dr Who it came from but I always had a sense of longing and sadness whenever i heard it.
In my recent revisit to rewatch every episode of New Who leading up to the 60th anniversary. As soon as i heard the first notes, I finally remembered where the song came from.
And boy did the tears come strolling down my face.
OMG I've gone I've actually gone... Not even gonna say I'm not crying... Or there's dust in my eye. I know that everyone else is. It's just such a sad theme tune. Really well written and will never be forgotten as one of the saddest and greatest episodes ever.

@Noon3rs i know what you mean. when i say that scene i was about to cry. i love Rose i started out when she was with 9. when they practically tore her from the Doctor it crushed my heart to a billion little pieces. they were perfect together :,( what they should do is do a mini series if Rose had stayed with the Doctor. what would've happened then? would he still have married River? or would he have picked Rose. hmmm...i wonder....

Of any movie or show or anything at all Ive ever seen, NOTHING has made me cry so blindingly hard as that damn breach closing scene. That look in his eyes while he's against the wall paired with Rose's breakdown is murder to my emotions. Then as soon as the sobbing slows, they slam you with that damn beach scene. Stoopid show.

This episode was well written, well acted and I have no problem saying my eyes leaked the whole time I watched it.
PEOPLE. Stop arguing about the companions! There is no best companion, or best doctor. NO BEST. They are all amazing. They have to be amazing, or the Doctor wouldn't have picked them up. We should all respect the Doctor's judgement. He never favours one over the other. He remembers ALL of them fondly. He is kind to EVERY SINGLE incredible man or woman he decides to take for a ride, and we should all share that feeling. They are all amazing. Lets leave it at that.

Makes me cry as the doctor knew rose was the one for him and after dooms day he was never the same. Rose showed him that life was worth living and that even tho hes the last of his kind he has friends and people at cared about him

Watching in 2020. Remember watching in 2009! Still watch Dr who today. Tennant still retains the crown of being the "best", this song and the emotion behind it proves it. I may be wrong but no other doctor since has had this level of emotion with a musical score.
This is seriously the most fantastic track. Love love love it (as well as music for Midnight, weeping angels and the ood song of captivity and freedom!)

i know, but because rose had "died" in season two, people were mega excited about her reappearence at the end of season four, paying more attention to her return than how awesome donna was that season.
