You mentioned on Sunday that the tin was almost gone. That strongly suggested you were really enjoying this blend, though I am no detective. Thanks for the review.

Hi Bradley, been awhile since i have tuned in, but your review of FandT Special Brown Flake drew me in. This flake is one of my favorites along with FandT's Cut Virginia Plug and Cut Blended Plug. You probably know this but FandT had the Royal Warrant when they were in business for supplying dry snuff to the Royal Family in England and were a fairly big player later in the pipe tobacco industry. Special Brown Flake has been in their stable for decades and used to be blended for them by Gawith but for the past couple of decades KandK have been the blenders. They had a wonderful tiny boutique store in Burlington Arcade in London, a very upscale urban mall where I was fortunate enough to visit in 1985 shortly before, sadly like many London tobacconists, they went out of business. Always enjoy your reviews. Keep puffin.

You definitely should try Dan Tobacco's Salty Dogs. Another quality Navy-esque rum flavored blend where the rum flavor doesn't directly translate so much into the smoke flavor itself, but probably enhances it a little on some level.

Glad you enjoyed it. It's a fairly regular in my rotation. For some reason I think the old tins said "hint of Sherry" but I could be confusing it with another FT blend.

Yep. I recorded this, along with the Sunday video, with my new wireless system. The kinks should all be worked out on the next video.

F&T's 34th Mixture is one of my all time faves. Old school (late 1800's I believe) English blend with a tangy, bright element that I just love. I'll have to try this one, too.

F & T tobaccos are available and quite popular in Switzerland afaik, but not in any (?) other European country.

In the old Fribourg & Treyer shop location in Haymarket St., London there is still the original shop windows with “Fribourg & Treyer” written in gold letters even if it is now an awful souvenir shop. I think that they were mainly known for their snuff
