    I've been a cigar smoker for 25+ years, recently converted to pipe smoking. Gawith Hoggarth blends are some of the greatest smokes of my life, and I've only been smoking them for about six months. Ennerdale, Kendal Flake, DVC, #7 Broken Flake, Bob's Chocolate Flake, they are all just incredibly delicious. This is truly the Art of Tobacco.

    Very good video and this helps show just how much work is involved in producing your products. After watching several videos from "The Pedaling Piper" I decided to try some of your products. I am very impressed and continue to order more so that I do not run out. Outstanding pipe tobaccos from your company.

    I just can't wait to get Sweet Black Cherry Twist once again. What ever happened to Sweet Coconut Twist? I haven't seem that one in at least 15 years. My last jar is dated 2006.

    Can you put some of your blends in the UK supermarkets? We can only buy Condor, St Bruno and Clan over the counter in limited supermarkets. Tesco seem to stock all of these three. Would Waitrose not stock your tobaccos as they seem to want to support UK producers and businesses? 😊

    • @gawithhoggarth
      @gawithhoggarth  5 месяцев назад

      I am afraid it's not quite that easy or simple to get products placed in supermarkets. And with closed gantries and no advertising it is even more difficult. Condor, St Bruno and Clan are mass produced tobacco blends.

    Like the info, gh been my favorite brand since taking up pipe smoking. Nothing against the chap in the video, but given the obvious distane in his voice at the mention of the old machienery and indeed the staff one can only assume gh will be thrust kicking and screaming into the modern age where so much of what makes things great are lost. I hope the seals hold and hydraulic oil never meets tobacco, ever! That said I would still buy a bch twist ball the size of my head given half a chance. Thankyou for your great products and for the time being at least, keeping tradition alive when it makes no sense to the bean counters 😀

    • @gawithhoggarth
      @gawithhoggarth  Год назад +4

      Well the chap in the video is Chris Gawith, CEO and MD of Gawith Hoggarth. No disdain for the staff so no idea where you picked that up from, some of our staff have worked for us for 30+ years and some we have are 4th generation working for us. But some of the machinery can no longer be serviced and is difficult to maintain. It is difficult to get it past today's current H&S and with constant demand for more product, new machinery will be needed to keep up with ever increasing demand. No kicking and screaming, we have spent the last 5 year modernising a company that had little investment or modernisation for the last 30 years. And we are working with the staff on implementing such changes and they are very involved. Think you have read far more into a quick video than its actually there.

      As already stated, these are not marketing videos so no need to be slick. These were talks given at a trade show and thought they maybe of interest to our followers so I filmed them.

    I thoroughly enjoyed the video. One question though - why did you start putting your tins in boxes, and why did you stop?

    • @gawithhoggarth
      @gawithhoggarth  2 года назад +2

      Sorry not quite sure of question but often labelling requirements and health warnings dictate the packaging and what can and cannot be done.

    Este video me inquieta un poco, veo q hay un ciudadano chino en la exposición. ¿ Tiene algo que ver con el mercado chino ,que la subida en España de solo su marca, por que las demás marcas solo han subido céntimos, no euros, de un precio de 16€ a 24€ ? ¿ que no haya suficiente producción para los clientes europeos de toda la vida por que lo ha comprado todo china y por eso lo poco que quede sea más caro? Con Habanos ha pasado eso, intenten comprar un puro habano. Pregunto desde el desconocimiento, no afirmo nada.

    • @gawithhoggarth
      @gawithhoggarth  Год назад

      What a silly comment. The 'Chinese' person is an English lad that works for an English cigar company. This was an English trade show speech. Our prices are the same for export regardless of country. However, whatever your government decides to add in tax is down to your country. It would make no difference to the price in Spain if we produced no tobacco for China. Or if we produced lots for China. I do not know where you get such a crazy idea from. This is not how business works. Prices were increased for EVERYONE as we had not had a price increase in 2 years, prices of everything have gone up (wages, electric, transport, packaging, rent) and we were selling at a loss. So we either put prices up or we stopped making the tobacco. But some of the price increase will be your taxes. We have no control over government taxes unfortunately.

      @@gawithhoggarth Creo q mi comentario se ha podido malinterpretar, pido disculpas. Era una pregunta no una afirmación. Con los puros habanos ha pasado, no nos llegan y los poco que llegan cuestan más del triple en algunos puros incluso más. Lo siento mucho si no me he explicado bien. Me encanta vuestro trabajo y os lo agradezco mucho.
