73maplepiper I hope you get him to try. My best friend does that too. Tried to get him to do a pipe but he said there wasn’t enough nicotine. Thanks for watching.

This blend has been one of my favorites since the early 2000s! Glad someone else appreciates good quality British tobaccos! If your interested in a great European aromatic try Dan Tobacco Devils Holiday!

I'm so glad that you dry your Gawith and Hoggarth properly. It's probably the main reason that people don't enjoy Lakeland tobacco. Have you tried Best Brown Aromatic (scented) yet? Now that one is my Desert Island baccy. ❤️

I really enjoy your informative, lighthearted, and unbiased reviews. With such a positive rating I'm seriously think of giving this blend a go. As a life long aromatic guy, I ventured out about 5 years back and discovered Captain Black's Black Sea to scratch a Latakia itch without really straying from aromatics. This sounds like a similar and enticing blend. Thank you again for all the great videos and sharing your honest thoughts with all of us. Cheers

I like Balkan Mixture...great English style Balkan blend. A lot of people like their Best Brown Flake and Rum Flake. Samuel Gawith is another English brand that is popular.

Not allowed to use 'flavourings' in names in the EU. Gawith Hoggarth & Co been around since the late 1800's but Gawith's as tobacco makers since 1792. Was originally all one company, then became Samuel Gawith's and John Edward Gawith's, then one company again, then Gawith Hoggarth & Co was set up and since 2015 all back under one roof and one ownership.

Great review! I've got a tin of Bob's Chocolate Flake that is getting opened up this summer! Thanks!

Bob's Chocolate Flake was one of my go to smoke back before it got so hard to acquire. I still have half a pound in the cellar from 2002. It is still a good smoke. Ennerdale was the other GH tobacco that I smoked all the time. Needless to say it's more of a treat to smoke these now that it's hard to get. If you haven't tried it yet, Newminster's Superior Round Slices is an interesting Virginia / Dark Fire blend.

It is very interesting blend indeed, i find it much better than its counter part chocolate flake from Sam. G. Yet its not an every day smoke for me, i love aromatic but cross over blends are always that odd bracket that is hard to fill. Love your vids, thanks for sharing

I've been smoking this since around 2009 (when I was back home in the UK). It's fantastic tobacco (and I dislike most aromatics). Luckily I bought several 500g bags as it became my regular smoke for a while, and I still have a bit left. It's a pain in the butt to get more in North America now (Canada is becoming a very hard place to be a pipe smoker). It's a dry cool, cocoa, smooth and creamy smoke. The Lakeland character ages out. Erinmore is good too, but not as good IMO. If you like this, you should really try "Rich Dark Flake (unscented)" from J.F. Germain.

I just had a bowl of Bob’s this morning! Great stuff. I’ve never had any Germain’s...can’t seem to get my hands on any. Would love to try it, though. Thanks for watching.
