Man, still so plain Jane inside with all the plastics etc... no radar, no epas, ordinary engine. Love the look of it but reckon the new Ranger can stay relaxed 😆
Totally agree, externally it looks amazing. Inside the cabin it's so boring and dull and under the hood it's just a boring little engine. They definitely need to lift their game to compete with the new Ranger and Raptor.
@@VideoShowMeHow not yet. Ford said they will first release pricing on the new model in anticipation to gather pre-orders and then the new Raptor will be revealed.
Been looking forward to the review of the Warrior. Hopefully Nissan South Africa can build a similar version to the Warrior in South Africa. Great review Paul and team.
I’m very impressed with that model Paul, I am on the hunt for a brand new vehicle Navara, Mitsubishi Triton and Toyota Rogue are the main 3 vehicles are of interest. Fantastic review that you have given talk of those three mussel cars👍👍
Hi Paul, on a number of models now you have referred to the rear window opening for airflow, it's actual intended purpose is for long eg timbers etc you can open the window and slide them through into the cabin. The regular windows suffice for airflow!
Thanks Paul - as mentioned before I’m a now a Hilux owner but have always had a soft spot for Nissan after owning a ‘92 Skyline Twin Turbo in Adelaide (sold for a sizeable profit because I’m actually a granny driver) - I think for around $70 k I’d want a V6 diesel and more functionality instead of blank buttons but still very capable and good looking 4WD - it will be interesting to see what happens with the upcoming Navara/Triton marriage for 2023 - all the best for 2022 - John in SA
I hope you guys review the SL warrior when it comes out. Potentially a huge cash saving over the pro 4x, and youre getting all the cool mechanical upgrades. Maybe the variant to have given the nav already feels old - just save some cash and get the utilitarian model you wont be afraid to get muddy.
You mention that it doesn't have radar cruise control, then pass over it, It may not be 'radar' but it Does have cruise control and its superb! You don't need a preceeding vehicle to operate the cruise control if you are looking forward! Only if you are half asleep! . ☺
Great review as always Paul! Warrior looks absolutely awesome but wish Nissan did something about that god awful interior and underpowered Renault boat anchor.
My thoughts is that it's way too expensive for what, at the end of the day, is still a ute. If you're after off-road capabilities and better on-road handling, get a basic Navara and fit OME suspension (or similar), lift kit, and some decent tyres.
@@CarExpertAus This is a very good point. I have had issues with warranty in the past on a 4wd that I modified with after market gear. But to the OP; if you were to go to ARB as you say (i.e. OME suspension)... you won't walk away spending much less than $10k on a bullbar, suspension and decent tyres. There is at least $7-8k cost there including fitment.
Great review as always Paul. I used to work at a Nissan dealer and tbh i've never really warmed to the D23 compared the the D20. My dad had one which visually I think looked a darn sight better and wasn't much worse in any regard apart from maybe infotainment. But this Warrior looks brilliant, well done Nissan Australia for this. I do think the facelift has done a half decent job at improving it, but we won't be getting the facelifted D23 where I am in the UK at all, which is a shame as we've also lost the L200 (Triton in Oz). Keep up the great work.
I bought a 2020 warrior and glad I got that generation. The new narava looks in general are too square, and the loss of the interior conveniences like the storage and cup holders are a step back IMO. Still I'm sure this gen would be a sweet ride in terms of comfort, my one is and that's perfect for my families needs. I'm not a tradie.
Hi Paul. Would you mind to do some reviews of Mitsubishi ASX, MG ZS petrol ver. or MG 3. I know all these cars are really old and cheap, but they still hit a big sales number in 2021. You've done all the other popular cars review, but I think people still like to know if these 3 popular cars worth to buy these days. There are not many reviews about them on RUclips, and in Australia, only your videos can review them with details. So hope you can do one or two reviews about above three cars
30k difference to Raptor... 95% of ppl won't take there pick up off road... navara is smaller in dimensions and easier to park.. better fuel economy than the raptor, red accents look amazing... head lights are fantastic and work very well... not a very positive review for such a fantastic car... and at 65k... fantastic value and 5year warranty.. for me it 8/10....
Yeah that is a bit silly that the standard car has better acceleration. They should have upped the power and torque to at least match the acceleration of the standard car or be slightly quicker
They just need to put the same engine that is the Y62 Patrol !! No other ute will compete!! the fuel bill will be a little cheaper than the Y62 as well but so worth it
Another great review Paul thank you. Comparing to my 2016 model there are so many same same designs. Same dash design with hard material, same console with chrome around the gear shifter that blinds you in the sun, ,same centre console with terrible storage, same uncomfortable narrow seats, limited steering wheel adjustment, same basic design that it almost looks like another refresh from a 10 year old vehicle. Why did they remove the slide out cup holders so dumb. Sadly Nissan have lost me as they have done little to change the design and have really only just caught up with other manufacturers rather than moving past them. At least they kept the best part of the Navara that being the sliding rear window. I’ll be keeping an eye on your other reviews to pick my next vehicle in 2024 which won’t be the Navara.
I don't understand how Nissan RSA have Deleted the most practical and popular interior elements like the Side Cup Holders, the Dash cubby with 12v socket, AND the Heated Seats and rear sliding window but still wants to complete with Ranger? Less value for money?
Does this not have a CD player? I didn't see a CD slot... And 6 speakers? Like as in the older Navaras? Two tweeters on the dashboard and a single woofer in each door? Where can I put in a subwoofer? I'm not interested in those under seat subwoofer aftermarket products... I need proper bass! I love music especially when I'm driving and if it doesn't already have a great stereo system and can't be upgraded.... Then I'm not interested! Most people I know when looking at purchasing a vehicle check under the bonnet first, I have always checked for speaker and amplifier locations and the possibility of the head unit to be updated too ..... The vehicle is only there to carry me, my stuff and the stereo system around!
If you're into 4wding it's a lot better to buy a cheaper model and add aftermarket accessories that have been tried and tested (ARB, Ironman, TJM, etc). For almost 70k, most of it is for show only
Also don't understand the fascination with these types of bars. One of the biggest risks that may leave you stranded in the aus bush is getting a roo through your radiator, these offers no protection.
Nope. Should not even be slightly concerned, especially with the redesigned Raptor dropping globally this coming year. The upcoming Raptor won’t be able to compete with the US big boy Raptors, but it’s still well ahead of the rest of midsize trucks in terms of high speed off-roading.
As an owner of a lower spec model in white can attest to that glare of that angle on the bonnet as well as the inability to get comfortable im 6 foot 1 as well. You didnt mention the other annoying items such as volume knob on wrong side as well as manual mode on auto the wring way around to engage. Just lazy on nissans behalf to change for our market.
Why dont you do a detailed comparison between the NTrek Warrior to this Pro 4X Warrior, all the points in this video compare it to the Pro 4X not the previous version
I’ve always had a soft spot for Nissan because I had a old skyline GTR and I love the new GTR’s and I’m trying to love the Navara but the interior is so outdated and the engine is so underpowered so I’m just going to wait til Nissan brings out a new engine and hopefully it’s soon.
Comfort wise: Amarok 1st; Ford Ranger 2nd (not for reliability); Navara and then Hilux (hard ride, but reliable). I had the 2020 Ranger XLT, tested the Hilux and bought the 2021 Navara. I'm very happy with it.
it looks great but that tray with no protection is a really bad oversight , the engine is old and the interior is outdated , an analog switch for 4x4 modes is older than me and no heated or electric seats in 2022 is inexcusable by Nissan. FORD can sleep well especially if they are planing on putting a v8 in the raptor .
Turning circle? Low range gearing? Fuel capacity? Room for second battery? Ramp over angle? Vulnerable underbelly points? Lots of important off-road info lacking.
Turning circle is 12.5m, low range gearing was mentioned in the review, tank capacity is the same as regular Navara (80L), 26.2 degree ramp over, no room in the engine bay for a second battery.
Hopefully Nissan will upgrade the interior especially dashboard and infotainment design so navarra ca compete to other UTE such as Ford ranger and others
Only thing holds me back to walk into dealership to put my order is the interior in this vehicle she looks beautiful but the interior is biggest put down

Sadly we know Nissan won’t do it
Would be great - but - not a chance.
Why did NISSAN SOUTH AFRICA do away with the Aussie spec 2.3L Twin Turbo and introduced the Thai spec 2.5L single turbo? Less value for money?
The south african isn2.5 single turbo with leaf springs at the bank

Yeah that is a bit silly that the standard car has better acceleration. They should have upped the power and torque to at least match the acceleration of the standard car or be slightly quicker
Probably because they knew nobody would pay $80k for a Navara
Easy done with an ECU remap but yes not the cheapest path to go down if you do it right, but good 30%+ gains in torque & Kw can be achieved 😊
