    The changes are new for 2022 and Paul Maric investigates whether the updated Nissan Navara Warrior is worth checking out if you need an off-road focussed truck.

    Man, still so plain Jane inside with all the plastics etc... no radar, no epas, ordinary engine. Love the look of it but reckon the new Ranger can stay relaxed 😆

    • @changereception7750

      Totally agree, externally it looks amazing. Inside the cabin it's so boring and dull and under the hood it's just a boring little engine. They definitely need to lift their game to compete with the new Ranger and Raptor.

    Great review as always Paul. I used to work at a Nissan dealer and tbh i've never really warmed to the D23 compared the the D20. My dad had one which visually I think looked a darn sight better and wasn't much worse in any regard apart from maybe infotainment. But this Warrior looks brilliant, well done Nissan Australia for this. I do think the facelift has done a half decent job at improving it, but we won't be getting the facelifted D23 where I am in the UK at all, which is a shame as we've also lost the L200 (Triton in Oz). Keep up the great work.

You've done all the other popular cars review, but I think people still like to know if these 3 popular cars worth to buy these days. My thoughts is that it's way too expensive for what, at the end of the day, is still a ute. If you're after off-road capabilities and better on-road handling, get a basic Navara and fit OME suspension (or similar), lift kit, and some decent tyres.

    • @CarExpertAus
      @CarExpertAus  2 года назад +21

      True - but keep in mind all of this stuff is warranted.

      @PC_Ringo 2 года назад +2

      @@CarExpertAus This is a very good point. I have had issues with warranty in the past on a 4wd that I modified with after market gear. But to the OP; if you were to go to ARB as you say (i.e. OME suspension)... you won't walk away spending much less than $10k on a bullbar, suspension and decent tyres. There is at least $7-8k cost there including fitment.

    I bought a 2020 warrior and glad I got that generation. The new narava looks in general are too square, and the loss of the interior conveniences like the storage and cup holders are a step back IMO. Still I'm sure this gen would be a sweet ride in terms of comfort, my one is and that's perfect for my families needs. I'm not a tradie.

    Another great review Paul thank you. Comparing to my 2016 model there are so many same same designs. Same dash design with hard material, same console with chrome around the gear shifter that blinds you in the sun, ,same centre console with terrible storage, same uncomfortable narrow seats, limited steering wheel adjustment, same basic design that it almost looks like another refresh from a 10 year old vehicle. Why did they remove the slide out cup holders so dumb. Sadly Nissan have lost me as they have done little to change the design and have really only just caught up with other manufacturers rather than moving past them. At least they kept the best part of the Navara that being the sliding rear window. I’ll be keeping an eye on your other reviews to pick my next vehicle in 2024 which won’t be the Navara.

  • @The-fs5wn

    Nope. Should not even be slightly concerned, especially with the redesigned Raptor dropping globally this coming year. The upcoming Raptor won’t be able to compete with the US big boy Raptors, but it’s still well ahead of the rest of midsize trucks in terms of high speed off-roading.

    it looks great but that tray with no protection is a really bad oversight , the engine is old and the interior is outdated , an analog switch for 4x4 modes is older than me and no heated or electric seats in 2022 is inexcusable by Nissan. FORD can sleep well especially if they are planing on putting a v8 in the raptor .

    I love my 2021 ST off-road it’s a beast but the interior especially storage is such a let down unfortunately.

    Turning circle? Low range gearing? Fuel capacity? Room for second battery? Ramp over angle? Vulnerable underbelly points? Lots of important off-road info lacking.

      Turning circle is 12.5m, low range gearing was mentioned in the review, tank capacity is the same as regular Navara (80L), 26.2 degree ramp over, no room in the engine bay for a second battery.

    30k difference to Raptor... 95% of ppl won't take there pick up off road... navara is smaller in dimensions and easier to park.. better fuel economy than the raptor, red accents look amazing... head lights are fantastic and work very well... not a very positive review for such a fantastic car... and at 65k... fantastic value and 5year warranty.. for me it 8/10....

    If you're into 4wding it's a lot better to buy a cheaper model and add aftermarket accessories that have been tried and tested (ARB, Ironman, TJM, etc). For almost 70k, most of it is for show only

      Also don't understand the fascination with these types of bars. One of the biggest risks that may leave you stranded in the aus bush is getting a roo through your radiator, these offers no protection.

    If this car was made for the South African market, I guess it would cost over a million rand 😥 are cars as expensive in Australia than here in South Africa?

      YES, they are Expensive.
      But it is also 'normal' for new cars now.

    Exterior looks great and inspiring.
    Interior looks bland and uninspiring.
    You would think Nissan would at least design a stylish key remote. It's not that hard. Good grief.
