Im from Chile South América and I Have bought the new facelift Nissan Navara.
The engine is very good, in highway the cabin is very silence and quiet.
I also like a lot the ride comfort of the suspension, is like a Suv.

Having the steering reach makes it a tick for the dmax for me. For us taller dudes it's crappy having your seat back to get the legroom only to find the wheel is not within comfortable reach!!! Should have been standard on all vehicles for at least the last 10 years.

Quoted $71k for a Pro 4 X, and $68 for an STX. Dealership laughed at the sunroof option and said it wasn't possible due to COVID.
Ended up at the Isuzu dealership later that day for an X terrain $62,200 drive away. Isuzu had a shorter lead time ( July v August) so it really was a simple as that!

Many people look at these cars as their daily for around town and a bit off-roading. But when you go through red dirt all the time you realise you need something simple and thats why it was easy for me to buy a Navara. Its just simple whether onroad or off-road. If you use a ute for what it was meant all the infotainment and flushy things are useless

Never broken down, never failed to start, never thrown a code. 1 battery and 1 set of discs and pads (which I chose to change to upgrade ayway). Going strong still. Still comfortable, still drives like new, still quick off the mark. Only deterioration is the leather on the drive seat bum area on the part I lean on the get in and out has cracked. That was probably due to me not conditioning the leather enough.

I test drove both and found the camera quality in the navara to be made from an old potato. Bought the X terrain. One major concern though with the Dmax is the lane prevention “safety feature”. It’s seriously aggressive and will pull you back into your lane if you don’t use your indicators to unlock it. So what you say??
Imagine a tree branch on the road in a bend, cyclist(s) or any other anomalies that you might not be quick enough to hit your indicator before you make an emergency swerve. It’s down right dangerous. The first thing I do when I get going is to disarm it.

The Hilux wollows around and skips over bumps I the rear it was a bit disappointing and to be honest It felt 90% similiar to a 2014 Hilux we had so the platform hadn't changed alot

I had the dmax for a work vehicle and first thoughts were awesome. Although the longer you spend in it the less appreciation I had for it. The steering although light gets to be to sensitive and all the safety features ruin the drive. The nav although alot more basic it's still nice for what it is and ride is second to none. Also the after market mods on these things make them a far more capable vehicle . Iv had the nav for 3 months now and loving it

Had a look at both on the weekend, and I love and hate things about each of them. Admittedly the dmax was an LS-U and Navara was an STX but same flavour none the less.
Despite both being great cars I’d probably prefer to spend $65k on a new Hilux SR5, or wait for the new Amarok/Ranger and see what I can get for that price.
Nothing fundamentally wrong with either Dmax or Navara but they both leave some to be desired, especially at that price point.

From up in Far North Queensland, our roads are horribly maintained (so potholes every wet season) and off roading/camping is the norm. From that country lifestyle perspective the Navara wins in my opinion, sometimes simpler is better when your looking for a practical ute. Dont get me wrong, the dmax is also a great choice but when i have to get into a ute, covered in dust/mud/rain im going to feel less guilty in a navara than the dmax, at a certain point the fancy flush nature of the interior contradicts the hard working nature of the ute (difference between poser and worker). For me the 360 camera is a huge plus for off roading on tight tracks.
Overall I think they're both top market models for people looking to actually use the ute and not just drive around the cities looking "cool". It'll all come down to personal preference for the interior. Dmax is rather modern which some might like and the navara has a way simpler approach all be it with a more archaic design with all the buttons. What i've done is purchased Black Duck seat covers for my navara which adds less concern for the integrity of the original leather covers and of course the standard front dash mat. Still plan on giving it an ARB bullbar and rear bumper to really give it the edge offroad. Would also look great on the dmax.
Lastly just to quote someone from another video review, take the quote how you like to...
"Looks better than the Toyota Hijack, I mean Toyota Hilux and will outlive a Ford Recall, I mean Ford Ranger"

Hi, I'm not sure if the suspensions and things like that differ depending on your area but at least in my country (El Salvador) I tested both pick ups (on some others) because I was looking for a daily driving car that I can use for off road or light work on weekends, I tried both and in the city, the Navara was far more comfy than the D-Max, the Isuzu felt in some road imperfections like an old Toyota Hilux and even if the interior itself was more luxurious and comfortable, when I drove it, it felt like a regular work car, not as premium as it looks while the Navara was a lot smoother. I bought the Navara because it's not going to be use as a working car everyday so the city ride was my priority and it felt far better on the Navara but I'm still in love with the Isuzu interior 🤣 at least here you can change many of those piano black pieces for a "wood" piece (it doesn't feel like real wood but it looks really great)

I brought a 2022 st navara over the Ls dmax i drove them back to back and prefered the interior of the dmax over the navara by far but prefered the more quite cabin that the navara has. When it came to the engines I felt the dmax was zippy of the line but under powered for a 3ltr and it had nothing more to give at its top end range. As the navara was abit sluggish off the mark it had alot more to give top end which i prefer when traveling if i need to pull out and pass i felt alot safer and comfortable with the navaras performance.
