Hi. Wanted to comment on the road test for the new d Max ute. I think it's sorely biased to always sideline the Mitsubishi Triton when pointing out ute competitors for the mainstream makes and models. The Triton is 3rd best seller in the segment. Navara and D-Max are behind the Ranger, Hilux and Triton.
Cheap and cheerful design and build to compete at the lower price points in the market. There is no doubt that Isuzu sell mainly on price in the UK at least. They only sell the 1.9 diesel here and it has had a very poor reliability record with great numbers having DPF blockage issues combined with rising oil levels due to fuel dilution. All allegedly.

the 22 mux has off road traction modes dont know if they make any difference. and i agree with the gearbox slow to respond. climbing a decent hill with a caravan takes too long to change down a gear. by the time it does your out of the power band.

I am a ford ranger Wildtrak owner. I love my car NOW, But I’ve had two transmissions since new. I have now heard the latest Ford Ranger V6 is also inferior, runs super hot and breaks down. Can you report on this please? I’m thinking about a total switch to the D Max. I tow a caravan, 21’6 over two tonne. The ford does it ok. The DMax what’s that like for towing? Is the transmission ok, do they have issues like the Ranger? I’m more confused what to buy now. Why is it so hard? Can you assist please
@8:20 yeah, I'd prefer the full high-tech infotainment setup. I have a 2022 bt-50, and while the infotainment isn't horrible. It is noticeable when I come from using a fast and updated PC and smartphone to then start using this slightly laggy infotainment. not a deal breaker but it should at least be updatable.
@@brycem0 We get the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and VW Amarok with the more powerful engine, therefore I can’t imagine the EU emissions law is the reason why the 3-litre diesel is not available here.
Old fart here, If you need lane keep assist you are not concentrating hard enough on driving, and if you need it to drive you shouldn't be allowed to drive. Re 4wd system. Not able to drive in 4wd on paved roads at this price point is a joke. Massey Ferguson was same 50 years ago. Cheaper vehicle, not as fancy Triton and Pajero have centre diffs. A more important safety feature than lane keep assist on wet slippery surfaces.
Hello Paul. Can you make another test wherein I saw one of your vblog about the new Isuzu Dmax that you think is it has more torque than what Isuzu is saying. I'm interested to know if it's really 450nm or a little bit more. Thank you.
Go look at ultimate diesel tuning, they dyno test and tune all the modern dual cabs. Youll be able to see what the actual torque and power figures are.

When you opened the glove box there is a small sign with english and Russian alphabet. Is that mean this Australian model is also the same model they are sending to Russian market?
Come on Isuzu, pull your finger out and code the best traction control out there - your only 10+ years behind land rover. It would be an issue at wet road intersections too.

In the EU we only have the 1.9 l engine version and a big problem with the brake discs. They are deformed (especially the original ones) and cannot be changed under warranty. Do you have this problem? in 50,000 km it deforms twice.
I tried to imagine the 2023 Isuzu D-Max X-TERRAIN
Incandescent indicators on a $63,000 ute..... shouldn't be happening for a MY23 vehicle let alone one at that price. Come on Isuzu.
I am a ford ranger Wildtrak owner. I love my car NOW, But I’ve had two transmissions since new. I have now heard the latest Ford Ranger V6 is also inferior, runs super hot and breaks down. It seems the same problem…I guess an after market trans cooler could help? I don’t want to spend 80k on upgrading to a new Wildtrak if I have to go thru the same issues? Can you report on this please? I’m thinking about a total switch to the D Max. I tow a caravan, 21’6 over two tonne. The ford does it ok. The DMax what’s that like for towing? Is the transmission ok, do they have issues like the Ranger?
I’m more confused what to buy now. Why is it so hard?
Can you assist please
Dmax is a problem free car . I have a history with ford ranger. You’ll never regret. I’ve had both and Dmax is way way reliable. And predictable
@8:20 yeah, I'd prefer the full high-tech infotainment setup. I have a 2022 bt-50, and while the infotainment isn't horrible. It is noticeable when I come from using a fast and updated PC and smartphone to then start using this slightly laggy infotainment. not a deal breaker but it should at least be updatable.
cool ..we don't get Isuzu , Mazda , Mitsubishi and hi-lux in the U.S. , ranger but gas only
I tried to imagine the 2023 Isuzu Dmax X-TERRAIN
In Europe, we don’t get the 3-litre engine. We only have the 1.9-litre diesel.
You can blame the E.U emissions law for that.
@@brycem0 We get the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and VW Amarok with the more powerful engine, therefore I can’t imagine the EU emissions law is the reason why the 3-litre diesel is not available here.
If hilux can sell the 2.8 and ranger the "new" 3.0 in Europe I'm sure that Isuzu can sell their 3.0 as well.
I think the 3l is available joe
@@Cous1nJack Not in Europe. We only get the 1.9.
I'm a sucker for fancy tech in cars. 😅
Still don't have 360 Camera?
@CarExpertAus hey Paul I notice sometimes you have 2 watches in on why is that?
Just wait until it develops a DPF problem like mine did after 45k. Isuzu Australia refused to repair under warranty.
It's because they knew you wouldn't contest it. You could have literally made them pay if you went to fair trading.
how is the 1.9 engine?
You may as well say Mazda ute as well. We all know its an Isuzu with a Mazda Jacket on it 👈🤛
Omg ranger lover Paul lol and the 4jj motor nothing like Ford reliability.
A true competitor to Ford Ranger... about damn time Ford had some competition! It's actually a new car..
Not 20 year old tech in a 15year old frame! (ahem... HILUX? Cruiser? Triton? BT50?)
Please do the AT35
When you opened the glove box there is a small sign with english and Russian alphabet. Is that mean this Australian model is also the same model they are sending to Russian market?
Come on Isuzu, pull your finger out and code the best traction control out there - your only 10+ years behind land rover.
It would be an issue at wet road intersections too.
Do Suzuki Jimny 3 door or Mazda Miata Mx5 🙏

Nice
Can you review the Mercedes Benz Glb 35?
They cant fix the lag of the speedometer. Awful
Analog dials + a nice screen in the middle!
Don't like full digital dails (and that's why I'm never going to own a smartwatch as well).
