It's really useful to watch a complete painting beginning to end, with explanations on everything you do, the reasoning behind it, the effect you expect it to have, etc. Rather than keeping it at a really high level like other channels, you dive into the actual brushtrokes, and the way the paint flows onto the canvas. This is a level of detail that is missing in almost every other art channel, and I really appreciate it.
I think so too. I've been taking some of the stuff Ryan is showing, and mixing it with stuff I've learned from Bob Ross and his explanation's as well. I think that I am getting a bit more of a mix to be able to give me more of the depth I would like in some of my paintings. Course the ones I am doing are more 18 X 20 than his smaller ones. I am going to try some of Ryan's flower ones from a different painting.
I'm very interested in especially painting water. I'm a beginner so watching this tutorial was very very helpful for techniques, learning values. the layering involved and timing it could take to create a painting of any kind. I was getting very frustrated and annoyed and thought maybe painting was not for me and I needed to stick to my drawings. Thank you for recording this video! I can now confidently paint water or a landscape and actually anything I desire with practice. patience and most of all having fun doing it! AGAIN. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Ryan, I love how through the journey of this painting things went from messy to amazing! You are a gifted teacher and your patience and sharing of techniques, colour mixing and adjustments is so appreciated, Thank you again!
Gorgeous painting! 💜 Thank you Ryan and thank you to all of the patrions that makes it possible for all of us to join in on this painting journey, I appreciate you all :) 💜
First i know this is an old video but im glad i stumbled upon this piece. It was definitely a journey! Just want to say thank you for reminding me it’s ok to paint and repaint and fix and adjust. Sometimes I discourage myself after I’ve worked something that in the end is not what i wanted. I get tempted to want to scrap the whole thing or give up thinking that’s the best I can do. But you empowered me to not give up and rather, just have patience and keep adjusting if needed. I don’t have to just accept mediocrity but keep trying when needed. Excited to apply this lesson in my next piece. Thank you! ❤
Bob Ross teaches us, from the other side, how to create relatively easily very nice painting. Most interested people are gonna make it. But this is next level. Very nice :)
I absolutely loved this lesson! So many tips that I am going to incorporate in my painting style! I am going to go back and finish a waterfall for a client, and I'm so excited to see the results!! Thank you, again!!
Beautiful. Your markings on the rock on the left looks like hieroglyphics!! Cant wait to try this as all the others I have tried have turned out nice. I have only been painting since 2017. I am over 65 and love it, so relaxing!!
Thank you Ryan for a wonderful journey through this beautiful lesson. As a beginner, I would stop at some mess I make through the process, but after looking through this lesson, I realize its part of the process and to move on to make it beautiful. Thanks a ton.
Isn't time. Really enjoyed it. I received your kind of paint as a gift, I usually use only oils .,but now I really want to try this out. I will send you a picture of an oil and also my acrylic when I I finish, no matter how bad it is. Thank you, it was informative and I think I learned a lot. Phyllis Bradshaw
Thank you a lot for your such detailed class in youtube no one is sharing such a described class , you are awesome ❤️ , I love drawing you help me a lot with it . Thank you so much ❤️❤️
Thank you for taking us on this amazing journey! I just subscribed to your Patreon today. I have been trying to paint a somewhat similar waterfall from a vacation photo and have re-done it many times. This will definitely help me finish it!
Thank you so much for taking me on this journey to this magical place. I am only starting on my art journey, and I hope to learn so much from you, and so far, I have watched you painting this beautiful waterfall picture, and your Cherry 🍒 Blossom painting sessions from start to finish. Thank you so much, you're a great teacher.
I have been stuck on a painting for a couple months...its been quite the journey! However the technique you taught today with the foliage I think is really going to help me with the painting in order to finish it! This piece is BEAUTIFUL!!
Soooo beautiful..i m trying to paint ur painting..so nice way of teaching / guiding ..super ..keep doing this..its super helpful for learner like me..bigg thanks to u ..
I am always so excited for your new tutorials !! Seriously it’s the best day ever when you post !! Love love love your wok and your teaching style !! Thank you so much for continuing to make these amazing tutorials for us !! ❤️
TY for explaining why dragging your paint down for tree trunks doesn't make them look natural. I'm so guilty of doing that ... never knew until now how that is a problem I've been having with trying to make my trees look realistic. I will try your method when I paint my trees ever again. TY also for all your tips and advice on how to paint. You are such a wonderful teacher for all of us. 😸
It is the first time that I watch one of your videos (lessons), I like to paint and I am taking it up again after about 40 years. Yes, I made it to the end, yes I subscribed and I liked it. Surely I will visit your you tube channel and perhaps the only question would be why you did not use a fan brush for the effect of splashing the water at the end of the fall. Thank you very much for sharing time and knowledge. Greetings from Venezuela

Now that I'm a bit further along in the video, I just have to say, that was quite a journey. Well done.
