I had to geoogle the words "Tennessee Ham and Strawberry Jam" - funny to put it here.... But my favourite line is: Missing person who nobody missed at all.
Aw I am jealous. I have yet to see them live. I had tickets but it was after the Bush thing and they canceled. I was double bummed because I wanted to see their opening band Vintage Trouble. Talk about a live show that would have been. This song is the first Chicks song I liked then I watched a TV concert they did and fell in love.
@@toriboy25 I saw them in the summer of 2003, in Atlanta, Top Of The World tour, shortly after the hard right started ‘canceling’ them. Great show, but I’ve never been so glad to see artists leave the stage when it was over, because I feared some nut-case might shoot them. Go Chicks!
People need to request more Chicks! Long Time Gone, Ready to Run, Cowboy Take Me Away, Without You, Let Him Fly, Wide Open Spaces, There’s Your Trouble, You Were Mine, I Can Love You Better, Gaslighter, Sleep at Night, or March March
Naahh...they're yesterday's news! Natalie should have shut her big yap! They've been irrelevant since expressing their political beliefs. They should have kept it about the music and kept their woke opinions to themselves! They made their beds and they've been sleeping in them!
So glad you liked it. The Dixie Chicks show you just dont mess with us southern women. Pleas check out I Dont Wanna Make Nice. That really showcases their talent.
Great reactions again Harri. Watch a video of "Goodbye Earl" live. The women go crazy, again this came out 25+ yrs ago. But I agree w you, great song, video + message. Spot on .
When they said they opened a roadside stand i thought they'd be serving Earl barbeque like they did the abuser in "fried green tomatoes" lol. The secret's in the sauce.
You really gotta go down the Dixie Chicks rabbit hole....soooooo many great songs!!!!!!! Harri the sisters who are playing instruments are absolutely amazing musicians...best live band ive ever seen and really only country band I like.....Lead singer Natalie has a fatastic voice...try more of their music
My daughter saw the Chicks in STL and they had just released the song. She said the audience was looking at each other like, what the heck? Then the chorus... and they ROARED!!! That song went on and on. Mostly women in the crowd, singin' "Cuz Earl had ta' die!" Awesome.
This song was about taking power back, and turning it on the aggressor. #girlpower Jus sayin. If you're dating a girl who has a ride-or-die homie....best be behavin yourself.

The Chicks are amazing. They all have great talent and some even play instruments. They’re some really impressive, brave people. I’m sure you have or will hear about their story and to me they certainly are on the right side of history.
Most people who claim that their grandpa just went out for milk and never returned, still believe that it was grandpa's idea and not grandma's. Tale as old as time, and good for them honestly.
Great reaction. Not sure if you’re aware of who the actor is playing Earl? His name is Dennis Franz and has been in a lot of movies and shows. Very recognizable and talented actor.
Love this video -- thanks for reacting! And Natalie's voice gets all the props, but it should be noted that the sisters are incredibly talented musicians. Saw them in concert and they were amazing. Also, I think at least a few shots are homages to movie scenes -- I read somewhere that the one where all the faces are looking down at Earl is from a Scorsese movie.
I agree. I will admit that loving Natalie's leads so much as I love to sing that I spent a lot of time learning lead. However I was in show choir and play piano badly myself so I completely understand the language of instruments and harmonies. The Dixie chicks were and have always been the same awesome ladies I have loved since I was 25. I only love them more.
Love the Dixie Chicks! They had so many good ones. Another good gal band back then was Shedaisy...their song Lucky for You Tonite Im Just Me is hilarious.
Another great SHEdaisy song is Little Goodbyes. Between that song and this one, my ex didn't know what to think, because I would BELT them out everytime they came on the radio. 😏
Thanks so much for this one, Catherine! Haha, I didn’t see that one coming 😂 And to all of the Earls and haters out there, you better watch your back! Thanks for your reaction, Harri.
I love the video. It’s funny as hell. But…why is it OK to find humor in spousal abuse and murder…but not OK to say “Dixie” Chicks. Sure, I understand the concept that some may be offended by the word “Dixie” (even though the original meaning of Dixie was a ten dollar note issued by the Citizens’ Bank of New Orleans), but just calling a musical group “The Chicks” is pretty lame.

Sadly, many times, women die because the law won't leave these men locked up like they should. I am sure it should be different, but let's be honest, having family members who have been in abusive marriages, it's really hard to make it stick they cannot have contact with you.
Just because they have a different opinion than you doesn’t make them woke and weird. It makes them on the right side of history AND utilizing the same rights that you are
Once in a while, I see a car with an "Earls in the trunk" bumper sticker. Makes me smile every time.
Never cross a woman who knows all the words to "Goodbye Earl".
Just never cross a woman!
Love how Earl is a zombie dancing with everyone at the end.
We named our boat "Zombies can't swim". That's a good thing to know.

There is a long tradition in country music of dealing with serious subjects with humor.
This is what they call a good ol’ murder ballad. :p A staple of country from its earliest days when it was bluegrass.

The abused wife is played by Jane Krakowski, a familiar face in lots of shows, including 30 Rock. I especially liked her in Ally McBeal.
Andy Sipowicz on NYPD Blue.
