When covid was at it's worse and people couldn't get out to the stores easily we shared vegetables from the garden with all the neighbors. Nobody went without anything they needed.

This is one song that most every culture can relate to. Country Boy does not refer to a person's race. It refers to a way of life. There are country folk in every state. My grandpa taught me a lot growing up, most everything in this song was how he grew up and tried to bestow in his family. I grew up close to the city, but my heart lies in the country. A shotgun, a rifle and 4 wheel drive was a necessity for life and remains true today.

Hank, Sr. was a legend. When he died, the country music industry tried to turn Hank, Jr. into him. When Jr. rebelled the industry turned their backs on him. He created his own sound and the rest is history. He often pokes them in the eye, especially in Family Tradition. You should listen to I'll Never Get Out of this World Alive from the album Three Hanks. It is Junior with his son Hank the third, and Hank Sr.'s music filtered in. Awesome (and I don't use that word frivolously). Although Hank the third sounds so much like Sr., he went his own way with music, too.

Country guy, here...my first time firing a gun was when I was 9. My parents had a pistol for protection (my dad was an over-the-road trucker and was away from home a lot), and they would take me with them whenever they would go for target practice. I got my own first gun for Christmas when I was 12, a Marlin bolt action .22 rifle, and was allowed to take it out into the woods by myself. My folks were confident that I had heeded their warnings and teachings; I knew a gun isn't a toy but a tool. Never really one for hunting unless absolutely necessary (no hate for hunters, though, of course), I focused more on the precision aspect of shooting. At my high school, there were guns displayed in just about every other vehicle (lots of my classmates headed straight from school to the woods during hunting season)...and no one ever thought about using one because of a problem with someone, not even after getting their ass kicked in a fight. It simply wasn't even a consideration. We do, however, make our own whiskey and our own smoke, too...sipped on some mighty fine 'shine and puffed a few tasty pipes whilst camping with friends over the 4th of July weekend. I moved to the city when I was 30, but it didn't take long for the woods to call me back home. Yeah...it's a 120-ish mile round trip to the nearest mall, but the peace and relaxation more than make up for such inconveniences. I don't even have to lock my doors at night or when I'm not home 🤘

He's actually is Hank Williams JR his father Hank Williams SR is the undisputed GOAT of country music Hank JR carried on his father's greatness and became successful in his own right " family tradition " or " old Habits " just two of his Hits as for his Dad " I'm so lonesome I could cry " or " Your Cheating Heart " would be good to react to. Also they took old footages of his Dad and mixed it with JR and made a duet " There's a tear in my Beer " 😳♥️

He fishes and hunts and we all have a dead eye for shooting. We're both veterans and marksmen. Our girl could hit what she aimed at by age 6. She can fly a plane, and there's nothing we can't drive. We don't need anyone to do anything. We take care of each other and our elderly neighbors. He grew up country and am I was city. From the time I was old enough to walk I was working on the farm, hunting, fishing and trapping.
For the first 20 years of my life that is all I knew.
Sure I went to town occasionally and went to school but living on the farm was what I was all about.
Honestly, if I wanted to I could live without ever setting foot in a grocery store or any kind of store really.
I can get everything I need from the timber, water and garden.

My wife and I are proud southerners from Deep South Texas. I grew up in Colorado and moved back to Texas after graduating high school. I grew up in the mountains and that’s where I feel most at home. Ain’t nothing anyone could throw at me that I’m not ready for. You guys are so on point with that. Is country boys stay ready, just how we were raised. We work hard and are fiercely protective of our homes and family. You know from growing up in the south and with your Pops how he is. We are polite to everyone unless you pose a threat and when that line has been crossed, only God can save you then. We are just a different breed I guess!!!! The other thing is there ain’t nothing like some good home cooked southern comfort food. Fried chicken, okra, cornbread, Mac and cheese…..plus you couldn’t go to a friend’s house or family member’s house without being fed by everyone. It’s definitely a slower pace of life, but God the people are amazing and the values we have are the beautiful thing. Literally exchanging services with a neighbor when neither of y’all have money or just doing it out of the kindness of your heart because someone needs it. When things go sideways the cities will turn into graveyards and the hills and mountains will be where people work through it. So very glad I got to grow up that way.

Hank Jr. started out being a copy cat of his dad,and he had a hard time trying to get the country music community to accept him as having his own musical interest and talent beyond the foundations his dad had established. After a very bad fall off a cliff he recovered and began creating the hank Jr. we see today and he is truly a part of the country outlaw movement of the 70s and 80s.

My favorite story about him was from a neighbor of his who spotted someone mowing the lawn across the street from his new home, he yelled across "Hey when you get done there you can come over and do my lawn" the man nodded and did indeed ride over to mow his lawn.... He was incredibly surprised and perhaps a bit mortified when he found out that it was Hank Williams Jr on the lawn mower 😂
