What I have done is to create a control with space switching attribute and use that instead of the locator. It has been working perfectly so far.

Yes that works too but for multiple constraints set up i found it little too much unnecessary work to go though the process of creating attribute everytime,.. but that works too

I unchecked the enable rest position box ..and a weird snapping issue is happening. Do you have any idea why it's happening?

you need to keep it checked.. else it will take the position where the object constrained at the first time. keep it on.
