I'm actually a vegetarian haha but I'm still showing up bc your videos are wonderful and your voice so calming and nice to listen to! Thank you for always putting so much care and thought into your recipes, it really makes one fall in love with cooking! :D
Tried out your Low and Slow Prime Rib method. First time ever cooking such an expensive roast. At 20 minutes per pound it was rosy medium rare almost from end to end. And the absolute lack of effort was as rewarding as I though it would be. Almost as rewarding as all the sandwiches I get to eat this week! Happy Holidays Chef Jon! Thanks for making it easy all these years.
I couldn't do anything with a roast that didn't include very low heat smoking for an hour in cherry wood first... and my grilling season includes 4' of snow on the back deck.❤
for the Thai Tri tip, I might go with a dose of peanut butter rather than the vegetable oil (and a small part of the sugar) and also go with some more turmeric and add some bright colored sweet paprika for color.
it's a leaner cut, i think i've seen it called a sirloin tip or even a "bottom sirloin" or some such... i've heard it's more of a cali/west coast thing so it may not be readily available further east in the US. my family in north carolina have had a hard time finding it

I could’ve used this on Christmas Day? I made a roast beef, but it wasn’t blesssed by Chef John. Maybe next year. Lol.
this is a compilation of six of his recipes that were all previously published, 1-5 yrs ago... so maybe look next time? lol😂
Lol
New years is a good time
YOU ARE an absolute DELIGHT to watch and a much needed break from the humdrums of everyday life. Thank you. 💜
Dear Corporate Overlords: What a nice addition to have Chef do an intro to the compilation videos! Keep it up!
I will choose one randomly for new years, thank you Chef John!
I made the first recipe for Christmas eve and it was fantastic.
You are great, love your voice and your cadence, happy new yr, making this
I usually do a prime rib roast for Christmas
“You’re the Scotty Pippen of your beef tri-tippen “made me laugh out loud
Excellent excellent video!
We always feel best with a lot of beef (ranched, all natural) on the menu. Nothing else compares for strength and beauty IMO.

Wonderful. I have 4 pounds of prime rib in my fridge. Ready to go.
Fantastic!

You are essentially the "This Old Tony" of food. Hands and voice at least. lol
Could you offer hints on where one can get a loan for the roast? The store where I shop charges $120 for one.
shop at a different store, look for sales. Never go into a recipe with a specific cut in mind, see what's on sale THEN look for a recipe 💸
Also a lot of these recipes have techniques that can be applied to whatever with only small adjustments to cook time, etc
cook rice separately
cook
potatoes
carrots
onions
add
cabbage
green beans drained
green bell peppers
black olives
ham
soy sauce
I see homemade canolies in my future.
Chef, My mom gave me a stir-fry recipe ... can you show how to make it? maybe give it a twist? Thank you

The inflection in these voice overs is like nails on a chalkboard

I can’t believe he added a plate of blood to that gravy.
What is a Tri tip? Any other name? Is it also called a flank steak? Flank roast?
It's just called Tri-Tip. You can definitely find it at Costco.

You had me until you mentioned the Ford F-150 Lightning. That hunk of shite is going to sink them if they continue down the electric primrose path.
